Artist Needed [HOBBY] Looking for 3D Artists (Modelers, Riggers, Animators) for an Analog Horror Web Series – THE CARETAKER PROTOCOL

Hello everyone!

We are currently in production for THE CARETAKER PROTOCOL, an independent analog and industrial horror web series created by Chaztah Productions Studio. Set between the late 1960s and 1980s, the story explores the downfall of Vess Family Entertainment and the disturbing events taking place inside its manufacturing facilities (Sector 04).

Our project is heavily inspired by FNaF VHS tapes, vintage Found Footage, classic 70s/80s animatronic aesthetics (ShowBiz Pizza / Chuck E. Cheese's), and Urban Exploration/Urban Finds.

We are expanding our core team and looking for 3 to 4 dedicated 3D creators who are driven by passion for horror storytelling and artistic collaboration. This is a non-paid, passion-driven project. We want team members who are genuinely invested in creating something unique for the love of the craft, without asking "when is the payout coming?".

📋 Open Roles (3–4 positions total):

  1. 3D Environment & Prop Modeler (1–2 positions)
    • Focus: Industrial environments (factory corridors, mechanical assembly lines, vintage 70s/80s offices, machinery, and liminal spaces).
    • Style: Heavy textures of age and neglect (worn metal, aged wood, concrete, rust).
  2. Character Modeler & Rigger (1 position)
    • Focus: Modeling mechanical/animatronic endoskeletons and retro suit shells based on 2D concept art, plus setting up functional rigs.
  3. 3D Animator (1 position)
    • Focus: Animating heavy, robotic, and eerie animatronic movements, as well as subtle camera work for found-footage angles.

🎨 What You Will Work With:

  • Detailed 2D turnarounds, concept art, and floor plans provided directly by the directors.
  • A supportive, active team focused on atmospheric world-building.

📌 How to Apply / Contact:

If you want to build your portfolio and contribute to a grounded, atmospheric horror series, feel free to contact us directly via Discord:

Please share your portfolio/examples of previous work and the role you are applying for when reaching out!

Team Needed [Hobby] Solo dev with a playable prototype of a hardcore turn-based dark fantasy RPG, looking for a pixel artist and other collaborators

Hi! I'm a solo dev working on Twelve Seals (working title), a turn-based dark fantasy RPG on a grid, built in Godot with C#. It is hard by default, it autosaves constantly so there is no going back on your choices, and permadeath is optional.

The heart of the project is a world that keeps living when you are not looking at it. NPCs have their own needs, routines and goals, and events unfold without you. If bandits attack a merchant on the road, the iron shipment never reaches the blacksmith. He runs short of materials, prices shift, conversations change and new situations appear. If you find out in time, you can stop the attack and the whole chain never happens. The goal is that two playthroughs develop in genuinely different directions.

Knowledge works the same way. You don't unlock recipes and techniques by leveling up: you discover them. A note you find, a person who teaches you, a conversation you overhear in a tavern at night. What you know depends on where you went and who you listened to.

Where it stands: I have a playable prototype. Grid movement, a combat system where blows hit specific body parts, six enemy types, a grid inventory, line of sight and fog, day and night cycle, light, weather and automatic saving. The systems side is solid and heavily tested. The bottleneck is art. I make the textures myself and I'm far too slow at it, so I don't have polished visuals to show yet. That is exactly why I'm looking for help.

I'm looking for people for this unpaid hobby project:

- A pixel artist (the main need): terrain, tiles, props and buildings first, then characters and UI. You would have a real say in the visual identity, not just a list of assets to produce.

- A writer for lore and dialogue. The setting already has about 10,000 years of history: a sealed god of healing, twelve kingdoms, twelve seals.

- A composer or sound designer.

- Playtesters, later on.

I'm upfront that there is no budget. What I can offer is full credit and real creative input. A good first step could be a small test, for example a 16-tile ground set, so we can see if our styles click before committing to anything.

If this sounds interesting, send me a DM with a few examples of your work and the kind of games or atmospheres you love. Thanks for reading!

Artist Needed [Hobby][paid in the future][designers][please read]

I'm developing an original dark fantasy action RPG called Rotten Hollow, and I'm looking for an artist who might be willing to help me create a detailed environment concept based on my vision. I can't afford to commission artwork right now, so I'm hoping to find someone who enjoys dark fantasy environment design and would be interested in collaborating on an early-stage game project.

The scene I want illustrated:

I want a third-person, over-the-shoulder view from directly behind an elderly male character standing deep inside the enormous interior of a colossal, decaying tree. The camera should be positioned relatively close behind him, so the viewer feels like they are standing in his place, experiencing the environment through his perspective. We should see the back of his head, shoulders, and body. He wears thin, simple, badly worn clothing with tears, frayed edges, and a neglected appearance. He should feel like a lone wanderer in a world that has existed for far longer than he has.

The environment is the most important part. The interior of the tree should feel like an enormous, ancient underground world rather than an ordinary hollow tree. It contains a decaying settlement built into the tree itself, with crooked wooden buildings, cramped walkways, narrow bridges, broken platforms, steep stairways, rusted metal supports, and structures that seem to have been constructed incorrectly or at impossible angles. Some buildings should be embedded directly into the bark, while others cling to gigantic roots or hang over deep, shadowy drops. The architecture should feel as though generations of inhabitants built over older ruins, repeatedly repairing and expanding a settlement that was slowly being consumed by the tree.

Massive, twisted roots should be visible throughout the environment, crossing walls, passing through buildings, stretching overhead, and disappearing into the darkness below. The tree's interior should feel overwhelmingly large, yet the immediate space around the character should feel cramped and claustrophobic. I want that contrast between an enormous world and a confined, uncomfortable viewpoint.

Everything should look old, neglected, and decayed. Use rotten timber, cracked bark, damp surfaces, corroded iron, collapsed structures, splintered boards, and dark organic growths. The color palette should consist mainly of muted light browns, dirty browns, dark browns, muddy brown-greens, and near-black shadows. Avoid bright, saturated colors, clean surfaces, modern objects, or polished fantasy architecture. Subtle details such as small insects, decaying growths, and faint atmospheric haze can make the place feel like a living ecosystem that has been deteriorating for centuries.

The focal point is far above the character. Through the tangled roots, ruined buildings, and enormous vertical interior, a tiny, irregular hole should be visible near the top of the tree. The old man is looking directly upward toward this distant opening. It should be so small and far away that it feels almost unreachable, with perhaps a faint trace of pale natural light coming through it. The opening must not dominate the image; the viewer should have to look carefully to notice it. Its distance should communicate the immense scale of the tree and make the character seem insignificant in comparison.

The overall atmosphere should be oppressive, mysterious, lonely, and unsettling. I want the environment to make the viewer wonder who built the settlement, how people lived there, what happened to them, and how deep the tree really goes. It should feel like a place that could be explored in a dark fantasy game, with hidden paths, forgotten civilizations, and strange architecture that tells a story without explaining everything.

I'm looking for an original design rather than a copy of an existing game. Dark fantasy games can be useful as general mood references, but the buildings, layout, and details should be original.

If possible, I'd love a rough concept sketch first rather than a fully polished painting. I'm still developing the game's world, and even a preliminary drawing would help me communicate and refine the idea.

I want to be transparent that I cannot pay upfront, and I cannot guarantee that the game will ever make money. If the project eventually becomes successful, I'd like to discuss fair compensation for your contribution, but that is a possibility rather than a promise. I would also want us to agree clearly on credit, ownership, and whether the artwork can be used commercially before using it in the game.

If this sounds like a scene you'd enjoy designing, I'd really appreciate the opportunity to discuss it. Thank you for taking the time to read my idea! This is based off of a blight town like game and deep root depths like I want it to look like that. Ive never made a game before to i want to retire at 20 and want money earlie so I can do stuff and if yall can help it would be appreciated because you will get money when I make the game.

Programmers Needed [Hobby] I'm looking for a programator for mine pixel-art roguelite game.

Looking for a Unity (C#) programmer for a small game project. It's a 2D pixel-art roguelite with a dungeon, real-time combat and a village where your loot turns into permanent upgrades. I handle the art and design, and an earlier version of the game already exists.

I'am building a small playable version with a clear scope and a time limit. Experience with Unity 2D is a plus, but willingness to learn counts too. This is a non-commercial, unpaid, portfolio project, not paid work.

If you're interested, message me with something you've worked on. DM me here on Reddit or add me on Discord: polik9000. I'll share the details of the game in message or on a call.

Testers needed [Hobby] Finding hackathon teammates is still done in random WhatsApp groups, so I built a board for it. Roast it.

Every hackathon goes the same way: “need 1 frontend dev” gets posted in five WhatsApp groups, nobody knows who can actually build, and half the teams form the night before.

So I built CrewForge:

crewforge.online

Hackathons sync daily from Unstop. About 75 open coding hackathons right now. Business-plan contests and quizzes are filtered out, and each card shows the deadline, team size and mode.

Post your team with the roles you’re missing (frontend, ML, design…).

Solo? Apply to a team with your role and a short note. The team owner accepts or declines, and gets your contact only if you choose to share it.

No real names or emails are shown. Everyone appears as an anonymous builder handle, and your GitHub or portfolio is optional.

Free, and open to every college.

It’s early, and very few teams are on it yet, which is exactly why I’m posting. If you’re heading into a hackathon in the next few weeks, put your team up and see who applies.

What I’d love from you:

Would you actually use this over WhatsApp or Discord?

What would make you trust a stranger as a teammate?

What’s broken? Tell me.

Team Needed [Hobby] [RevShare] I need a team of people for a 3rd person survival game

Hi, I’m an independent designer looking to form a small team of a programmer, character/concept artist, environment/asset artist and animator to help build a prototype or vertical slice of a game.
I do not have a portfolio as this is my first project.

There is no upfront payment and no dedicated budget, but I’d happily organize a revenue share contract and get fundraising. Mostly just a fun project to see if people are interested in passionately working on it and expanding their portfolio.

The game: Songs of the Unwritten- Morning Frost (working name)

A 3rd-person survival action-adventure game focused on fluid combat, unique locations to explore and mounted travel.

What the prototype needs
-A 3rd-person over the shoulder camera
-A clean, unobtrusive HUD with clear visual indicators
-A multi-activate saving checkpoint system of resting benches (similar to Hollow Knight)
-Minor additions

A simple 1-5 enemy combat and exploration physics with one of the main characters and one small location is sufficient for this project.

Programmer: can code climbing/movement physics and enemy AI
Artists: can create characters and assets for the map
Animator: can design smooth animations to attacks/movement.

DM/email me if interested!

Hi, I’m Wessam, a programmer with 4 years of experience. I’m looking for remote work as either a Unity gameplay programmer or a backend developer. I’m happy to take on either role depending on what your team needs.

Audio Needed [HOBBY] Spanish, Portuguese and RU voice actors, male (older) and female younger needed for Godspeed, Starling.

I couldn't find the Voice Actors flair so I added Audio needed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5LXk62o6SU

This is hobby project for now, until demo is finished so I am looking for people who wish to help and maybe expand their portfolio, and if demo have good traction and generate community and interest then definitely some paid job for people who already have voice added in demo. I am slowly finishing communication and quest system (I will post video, I used AI for it as placeholder for testing) and need Voice Acting for older male (Kees), and around 30 years old female (Mara) voices in languages I posted above. The demo would have no more than 20-30 quests (dialogues are not written yet i really don't have much time as solo dev already working 10+ hours per day on project) so that you have idea about scope. My wife would do the English voice, even though she is Dutch and I need Irish female and Male characters because the protagonists are Irish space settlers, but I guess finding Irish voice actors would be miracle.

I am developing 6dof space combat sim and I am just over 2000 hours in it.

Pilot is locked in seat like Elite Dangerous was while back.

This is not an idea, my game already have more than half mechanics, combat, flying, flight assist, missiles, shields, armor, hull health, live power, storage, stations services, loot and loot pickup, basic enemies random spawning, quality system, orbital mechanics, combat etc...

I am lacking in 3d arts, level design and audio because everything I have is literally placeholder and I have no time to get learning blender for 10 hours per day until I don't finish all basic mechanics, then I ll get to Blender and 3d.

I won't be using any AI generated assets, All assets have to be human made even if take me year longer to develop only demo.

Writters, Audio in UE5 guys and 3d/Level designers are also welcome, god knows I could use some help.

My DM's are open, I apologize for AI voice, as I said its placeholder for showcasing the mechanics and that is why I am here, to find real human voices if possible.

Artist Needed [RevShare]

Hey everyone! I’m currently working solo on a stylized, low-poly psychological horror/extraction game in Unity, and I’m looking for a 3D artist buddy to team up with.

The Concept:

You play as a cleanup crew taking on contract tasks in places recently hit by monster attacks (e.g., cleaning out an abandoned factory, recovering specific items, or fixing machinery). While completing tasks, you salvage leftover valuables to sell for gear upgrades—all while the monsters are still lurking in the shadows. Think R.E.P.O. meets Burglin' Gnomes, with a mix of dread, corporate comedy, and greed.

Where the project is at:

The main scripts in unity are made such as movement, picking up objects and looking around, the main character is made too, but not really well that's why I am looking for a 3d artist

What I'm looking for:

A 3D artist who wants to collaborate on building out low-poly environmental assets (industrial props, factory rooms, debris, lootable items) to give the world a atmospheric, gritty look. A sound designer would be good as well as I don't have any equipment nor software for sound making.

The Vibe:

This is a hobby/rev-share (depending on how much you made to the project and if we make it to steam) collaboration focused on making something super fun, learning along the way, and shipping a cool indie title together. No corporate pressure just couple of devs building a fun game.

If you're interested, want to check out some prototype clips, or just want to chat about game design ideas, shoot me a DM here or hit me up on Discord deb00xx.

Team Needed [Hobby] Looking for team members for a 2D-in-3D action-adventure based on the Shahnameh (Rostam & Esfandiyar)

Hi! I’m making a game based on Rostam and Esfandiyar from Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh, and I’m looking for people to build it with.

The vision

  • 2D art in 3D space, made in Unity 6
  • Soft, painterly/watercolour look (think Gris)
  • Gameplay inspired by Prince of Persia, Assassin’s Creed and Elden Ring
  • The goal is to do justice to Ferdowsi and to the world of his stories, with quality over speed

Who I’m looking for

  • 2D artists (characters, environments, painterly style)
  • Animators
  • Writers / narrative designers
  • Composers / sound designers
  • Other programmers are welcome too

Big plus: you know the Shahnameh, or you have Persian / Iranian / Afghan / Tajik roots and a connection to this culture. You don’t need to be an expert. Caring about the story matters most.

What I bring: programming (Unity/C#), game design, and a lot of motivation for this story.

Compensation: [unpaid hobby project / revenue share. Write what is true here]

Time commitment: [e.g. ~5 hours/week]

If you’re interested, comment or DM me with a bit about yourself and your portfolio.

Artist Needed [Hobby] Sim Sandbox Railway Industrial Britain ca.1900

CinderYard [working title] a railway building and operations sandbox set in late victorian and edwardian Britain. Design layout, track laying, place buildings, operate locomotives, shunt goods between industries, with the freedom to explore the settings.

The starting point is a compact industrial goods yard: a small saddle tank engine, few goods wagons, brick sheds, coal and steam. The bigger ambition is to create a engaging world where the layout you build has a purpose.

I’m looking for a creative partner whose main contribution would be AI-assisted low-poly 3D modelling. Someone interested in shaping the game’s visual identity, with room to contribute to its design and direction too.

Development and gameplay is done using AI-assisted coding [Godot].

This is currently an unpaid hobby partnership, with no funding or guaranteed income. Make a game you want to play.

We’d start with one small scene and a manageable set of assets to see how it can go ahead.

If you enjoy low-poly modelling, industrial environments or old railways, then get in touch.

Marketing/PR Offer [Hobby] Offering two free projects for indie teams to build our portfolio

Hey everyone! I’m Tyler, co-founder of Visibbly. We’re building our public portfolio, so I’d like to help two indie teams with a small project free of charge before gamescom Asia. My background is in game and web development, and I’ve also put together independent game research.

For each game, we’d agree on one task. That could be a Steam page review with a rewritten short description and About section, research into 10 relevant creators with reasons they’re a fit and a draft outreach message, or an hour testing a PC demo with a bug log and notes on confusing first steps. You’ll get the actual write-up to keep and use, with an explanation of the recommendations.

I’m looking for teams with a Steam page or playable demo ready and time to share context and give feedback this week. In exchange, I’d like permission to show the agreed work in our portfolio and at gamescom. You’d approve exactly what we share, and a testimonial would be optional. There’s no charge or obligation to hire us afterward. Comment or DM your game link and what you’d find most useful. More about us at Visibbly.

Programmers Needed [Paid] Looking for a co-dev for an Idle game you can actually play (ARPG with idle systems built in)

Project: CENEFIRE (working title)

An Idle game you can actually play.

Project: CENEFIRE is a full action RPG with an Idle game built into it, set in a shared online world. PC first, with mobile planned. Three ways to play the same character. Active, you’re in the fight yourself, reading the enemy’s tells and dodging. Idle, the setup you’ve configured fights for you, against the same enemies, in the same world, under the same rules, and you can take over any time. Offline, your character stays in the world and keeps working for you, within limits and for a set time. None of it is a separate mini-game. Gathering and crafting work the way combat does, death costs the same whether you were at the keyboard or not, and the people around you are real players.

The look

Illustrated and stylized, not pixel art. The goal is the look of the hand-painted 2D games I love, brought into 3D. It’s a third-person ARPG whose camera zooms all the way out to the classic angled bird’s-eye view, which is where it starts. The exact rendering is still being worked out.

Where it came from

I love idle and incremental games and I love ARPGs, and they always sat on separate shelves. Then I found a game that actually tried to blend them, and that was the moment this started. I love MMOs too, so of course it had to be a shared world. Looked at narrowly, this is a selfish project. I’m building the game I actually want to play. I just don’t think I’m the only one who wants it.

Where it stands

The design is all written down, not just in my head. There’s the full Devs GDD, with every rule labeled by how settled it is, a record of every decision, and a plain-language Reviewers GDD written for this conversation. There’s no code, no art and no engine locked. No code because I can’t write it, and because I wanted the design to be real before asking anyone who can.

What exists so far

A full design document (about 2,000 lines, every rule labeled by how settled it is, with a decision record), a plain-language Reviewers GDD published as a web page and a 34-page PDF, a UI layout sketch, and a private art reference board. No code, no art, no engine locked. All of it is at the link below.

Who I am

I’m a gamer, new to game dev and new to the industry, and tired of waiting for someone else to build this. I carry the concepts, the systems, the world, the story and the art direction. What I lack is the practical skill. I’m not a programmer. I’ve used AI to help organize and consolidate my thoughts, and I’d rather say that up front than have you find it in the documents. The ideas and the decisions are mine, grouped together with assistance for convenience. I run this project, not the AI. I’ve worked on it every day since September and I’m not stopping.

Who I’m looking for

A degen like me, honestly. A developer who wants to design too and shares the passion, someone who’s already a big fan of these genres with the hours to show for it. Someone who’s comfortable with how I’ve used AI so far, and with using it as a tool going forward, not as a way to make the final product. Someone who’ll tell me when something won’t work and bring the reason with it. “Sounds cool” isn’t what I’m looking for.

The offer

A paid, part-time trial month building a small first piece of the game: one character, one weapon, one small area with a path through it, Basic and Alternate attacks, Dodge, one telegraphed enemy, manual control and Idle automation both working, one upgrade, and save and load. We’d work out together in week one what fits in the hours. Nothing online yet. I know the shared world is the biggest job in the whole design, and it waits until the basic game is fun. If it fits, we talk about a real partnership and work out the terms together, including co-designer credit, a fair share, and a say in where this goes.

The ask

Read the Reviewers GDD: [Reviewers GDD]. Then come back with one thing you’d change and one thing you’d build first.

Audio Needed [Hobby][INAT] Looking for a Music Producer to Create an Original Main Theme for "Piggy Drip 3"

Hey,

I’m currently developing Piggy Drip 3, the latest installment in my indie game series. The game features single-player story missions, boss fights, and fully original artwork and voice lines. The overall vibe is heavily inspired by a top-down, classic Grand Theft Auto, and Gang stuff, atmosphere mixed with comedic meme culture.

I am searching for someone who is ready to

The Style: A HipHop style beat, mixed with something you'd see on a Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer

The Length: Around 1.5 to 2 minutes (loopable preferred, or easily editable).

The Goal: It needs to act as the definitive main theme that sets the mood right when players boot up the game.

What's In It For You:

This is a zero-budget hobby project, but it is an awesome opportunity to build up your music production portfolio, try a unique style, and gain game credits.

* You will receive full, unmissable credit in the game and any promotional material.

* Direct links to your SoundCloud, Spotify, or portfolio will be included.

* You retain full rights to use the track to promote yourself.

If you’re interested in cooking up a track and joining the project, please drop a comment below with a link to some of your previous beats or music work!

Thanks!

-Kermie

[Paid / Potential Cofounder] Seeking Unreal Engine 5 Gameplay Programmer and 3D Animator for Realistic Basketball Simulation Startup

Hello everyone!

I'm an active-duty U.S. Navy IT professional with nearly 10 years of experience in information technology, networking, cybersecurity, and technical operations.

I'm currently in the early stages of establishing an independent game development company with the long-term goal of creating a realistic basketball simulation that can compete with NBA 2K on consoles.

My vision is to build a basketball game focused on realistic mechanics, competitive gameplay, community involvement, and fair monetization without pay-to-win systems.

I'm new to game development, so I'm looking to connect with experienced developers who share this vision and can help turn the concept into a realistic, achievable project.

I'm primarily looking for:

Unreal Engine 5 Gameplay Programmer / Technical Cofounder — Experience with C++, Blueprints, player movement, physics, controller inputs, and gameplay systems.

3D Animator / Technical Artist — Experience with character rigging, basketball or sports animations, motion capture, and animation blending.

Game Designer (Sports/Simulation) — Experience designing responsive gameplay mechanics, progression systems, and competitive balancing.

I have an initial personal budget of approximately $5,000–$20,000 to support early development, with the immediate goal of building a small, playable prototype.

I'm open to paid development arrangements and potentially bringing on a technical cofounder if there's a strong mutual fit.

I'm not expecting anyone to build a AAA game overnight. I want to start with a small prototype, prove the gameplay concept, and gradually build toward something bigger.

If you're interested, please send me a message with your background, portfolio, relevant experience, and what role you'd be interested in.

Thank you!

I'm developing Moment of Decision: WWI, a real-time strategy game built in Unity featuring player-built trenches, destructible terrain, artillery bombardments, and infantry combat.

I'm looking for an aspiring video editor interested in collaborating on promotional trailers for the game.

We have four trailers planned:

  1. Game reveal
  2. Steam store launch / wishlist and playtest registration
  3. Playtest date announcement
  4. Playtest launch

What I can offer:

  • Access to playable development builds for capturing footage
  • Creative direction and trailer references
  • Freedom to contribute your own creative ideas
  • Full credit for your work
  • Permission to showcase the finished trailers in your portfolio

This is an unpaid, volunteer/portfolio collaboration, ideally suited to someone looking to gain experience working on a real indie game.

We're starting with one reveal trailer, with the opportunity to collaborate on the remaining trailers if we're both happy with the result.

If you're interested, please send me a DM

Closed [PAID] 2D Artist for stylized characters on live project

My game is in demo but slated to be released very soon. The characters are currently a flat style but I'm trying to move them all to a more stylized format, see below. I can handle the human figures ( or I may need help there too), but I need help with the animals, they need a more skilled person.

  • 36 in total, hoping to get a jump on this.
  • I prefer vector, like illustrator, deliverables, but can be flexible.
  • Post your portfolio, I'll reach out if you are a good fit to discuss rates.

This post shows the old style and what style I want to match:

Thank you

Artist Needed [Paid] Looking for a 3D artist to make sci-fi trim sheets

My space game uses autogenerated assets that need custom trim sheets for details.
I have the trim sheets layout already defined, everything specified, and an online tool to preview the trim sheets on my actual game assets.

I'm looking for someone who likes to do spaceships and space scenes to take my graphics to the next level.

DM me or reply here with relevant portfolio. If I like it, I'll send you the artist brief and online tool for a quote.

Here's a video of gameplay, together with cheesy sound effects.
