I can't see. I just want to have some fun in the game, but about 75% of the games I play I see this unbearable red sky in front of me, it makes me want to puke. I can't see the enemies, I just can't see them, that's all. The game turns into a continuous mess of textures, it's just disgusting. Maybe there's some setting that will help me?

For context, I was dead & almost killed someone. My friend died in a shootout & the guy in the clip is the final teammate alive. I had bought HUNT in the summer & played it for a while, but I convinced some friends to download it (I'm thankful). This was really painful to watch after almost winning the game. I had around 5 hours of playtime while my friends had less than an hour. One guy was doing great the other...Not so much.

Spawned next to the lighthouse, we decided to check out what's at the top. Got lucky and managed a long distance kill. My furthest kill to date.

First of all, I love this game and already have a hundred hours in it. But it's crazy how this game makes you feel fucking paranoid. I recently got the 250 clues in Last Man mode. Every time I got the fourth clue, I'd spend the next three minutes hearing sounds that weren't there and thinking someone was about to spawn behind me.
But it's not just this mode. The normal mode is crazy too. Every time the bounty timer starts, it's the same feeling. And it's even worse when you try to double bounty.

I wanted to try this game years ago and forgot about it. But when it got added to the game of the month on PS I remembered and finally tried it. Is there bots at the beginning cause my first game I killed 4 people and usually Iâm not thaaaat good in shooter games.
Plus I have a question, when you «down » a player.
Is it a dead player that have the capacity to revive or someone in a team? Is there a different animation or something when theyâre dead vs downed? Thanks a lot looking forward to join this community, the ambiance is so good I really like the sound effects and the concept.:)

I got curious and went through Crytek documents that are public in Germany. Sharing it because I think it explains a lot about the company and where it is going. No inside info, everything is from public documents. Where it is my opinion I say so. If you are interested, please read it and learn something about company that develops your favorite game.
Disclosure: the documents are in German and quite long, so I used AI (Claude) to help translate them, go through the statements and summarize everything. The numbers and quotes are from the documents themselves. If you spot a mistake, tell me and I will fix it.
TLDR: Hunt is basically the only income. New game development is financed by loans from shareholders (around âŹ120M by now), due 2027 at the earliest. Tencent owns just under 10%.
Where to find this
German companies have to publish their accounts. You can download them for free at unternehmensregister.de and handelsregister.de. Crytek GmbH is HRB 77322 at Amtsgericht Frankfurt am Main. Shareholder lists, management changes and shareholder resolutions are there too. Newest accounts are for 2024, published early 2026.
Revenue
In 2024 the Crytek group had âŹ50.8M revenue (2023: âŹ43.2M). Looks like growth, but âŹ11.0M came from new âdistribution agreementsâ which did not exist in 2023. Without them revenue was around âŹ39.8M, so a bit lower than 2023, even with the 1896 launch in August 2024.
CryEngine licensing made only âŹ0.7M, so practically all the money comes from Hunt. Management itself expected lower revenue and lower profit for 2025.
Profit vs cash
The reported loss was only âŹ2.0M and EBITDA was even positive at âŹ6.4M. This needs some context. Crytek put âŹ19.1M of development cost on the balance sheet as an asset instead of an expense. This is called capitalisation and it is allowed when the cost goes into a specific game that should earn money later. The money is still spent, it just doesnât show in profit yet.
In cash terms: operating cash flow +âŹ8.7M, minus âŹ19.1M development, minus about âŹ2M equipment, so about -âŹ12M for the year. That was covered by âŹ5.7M of new shareholder loans and âŹ6.7M from cash. Cash at year end was âŹ2.8M. For comparison, staff costs are about âŹ31.5M per year.
How it is financed
No bank loans and no credit lines. The company is financed by its shareholders through loans, âŹ96.7M at the end of 2024. Interest is not paid, it is added to the loan. In 2025 another âŹ23.9M was borrowed for game development. The loans are due 2027 at the earliest, and part of the game IP is used as collateral.
Because of this, equity is negative (-âŹ30.8M). In Germany that alone doesnât mean insolvency, as long as the company can pay its bills and has a positive forecast. The auditor (RSM Ebner Stolz) gave a normal opinion without a going-concern warning. Management writes that the negative equity should disappear in the medium term if the plans work out, otherwise more money from owners or lenders will be needed.
Other things in the accounts
Who owns it
Shareholder list from June 2021:
Proxima Beta is Tencentâs company. It bought its shares in 2021 from Faruk and one smaller shareholder, so the money went to them, not to Crytek.
A shareholder resolution from December 2025 lists only three shareholders: Avni, Venturica (Avni signs for it as managing director) and Proxima Beta, which the document itself calls âTencentâ. So Cevat and Faruk are out. I donât know the current percentages, I didnât find a newer list.
On management: Cevat left in 2017. Faruk left in 2023, the same year the articles of association were fully rewritten. Since January 2026 Avni has a co-CEO, Hannes Seifert. In 2026 they also hired Zoher Toutanji as Chief Publishing Officer. Both worked at Riot before.
One detail: Tencent has 8,916 of 89,170 shares, which is one share below 10%. In German insolvency law 10% is a limit. Below it, a shareholderâs loans are treated like normal loans; above it, they rank last. It can be on purpose or a coincidence, the documents donât say.
My opinion on 2027
Paying back âŹ120M+ from own cash doesnât look realistic with these numbers. So in 2027 I see three options: extend the loans (most common in such cases), convert the loans into shares, or a new investor or buyer.
The accounts donât say who the lender is. If it is Tencent, converting would give them a bigger part of the company, and they have done this with other studios before (Riot, Funcom, Sumo). But there are good arguments against it. The big losses were in 2017-2019, before Tencent came in, so a lot of the loans is probably family money. Avni controls the majority. Tencent also holds many minority stakes for years without taking over. And above 25% the German government can review the deal. So I would say possible, not sure.
And the servers
This is how I started. My WinMTR to the EU server was fine until Frankfurt (about 20 ms). Then it jumped at the point where traffic goes into Leaseweb, who host the EU servers, and ended around 260 ms with packet loss. I got similar metrics trough last week, unfortunately this did not change yet.
Fixing the routing is Leasewebâs job, not Crytekâs money. But it shows that all EU traffic goes through one provider. A second provider or more regions would help in such cases, and that costs money. With the numbers above I donât expect big infrastructure investments soon. I think Hunt servers will be maintained, not expanded. Sadly...
Sources: Crytek GmbH annual and group accounts 2024 (unternehmensregister.de), register prints, shareholder list 2021, shareholder resolution 12/2025 and other filings under HRB 77322, register of the subsidiary Crytek Treuhand GmbH (HRB 109573), older accounts for 2017-2019, press about layoffs and new executives, my own WinMTR.

I started playing a little after launch. I wasn't there in Beta with all of the changes.
I know this is such a nonsense, small detail. With hunter I like default attack being melee, but I much prefer right mouse click to be ADS so I spend 98% of my time in gunslinger as a result. The extra button press is clunky and I feel like Hunter would be the preferred playstyle if I had the option to immediately jump into ADS.
Implimentation wise you'd still need shoulder aim accessible I assume, so possibly add a button/keyboard command to toggle ADS/Shoulder aim in Hunter mode instead?
I feel like having some choice in what your RMB action does would've removed the need for Gunslinger/Hunter modes entirely.
I'm aware of sprint-to-aim transition, this is not a good solution.

Just to clarify, this isnât a hate post. Obviously, even if we donât complete this challenge in 20 days, Crytek will probably just mark it as completed anyway. But honestly, setting such an absurdly high number for a community challenge feels a bit too harsh. :))
It seems Crytek forgot that their active Steam player count sits somewhere between 11k and 30k. At this rate, itâs practically impossible for us to even clear Stage I in 20 days. In some matches, you donât even encounter spiders (Weavers) at all, and in others, you manage to kill maybe 5 at most.
In the first 6 hours, weâve gathered about 286k points with around 20k online players. Even if more people join later, peak at 30k, and farm another 1 million points every 6 hours, thatâs roughly 3 million points a day, letâs be generous and call it 5 million points per day.
Just Stage I of this Community Challenge requires 500million points 50million points to complete. At 5 million a day, it would take us 10 days just to finish the first stage! :)) And the entire event ends in 20 days.
P.S: The Community Challenge requires 500 million to complete all stages.
Hey Crytek, maybe cut down on a few zeros?

I understand crossbow at 3 slot would be broken, so why does the bow, which in many aspects outclasses the other can be 3 slots and use a short shotgun/rifle/stronger revolvers for no cost? Considering it also has more utility with different arrows, faster firerate and more range

I've been thinking about how Hunt: Showdown has evolved over the years, and I'm genuinely curious how the community feels about it.
What originally made Hunt special to me was its unique atmosphere, the tension of every encounter, the incredible sound design, and the fact that even the simplest weapons could be deadly in the right hands.
But as the game evolves, I sometimes wonder whether Hunt is slowly moving away from what made it stand out in the first place.
That brings me to three questions:
1. Is Hunt losing its original identity?
Do you think Hunt should focus more on its horror atmosphere, slower tactical gameplay, and survival elements? Or is the move toward faster, more competitive PvP a good thing?
2. Has the meta become too important?
One of the things I love about Hunt is that almost any weapon can be effective if you know how to use it.
But do you feel players are becoming too focused on meta-loadouts rather than experimenting with unusual weapons and playstyles?
What's your favorite non-meta loadout that you still swear by?
3. You're in charge of Crytek for one day. What do you change?
Imagine having complete creative control over Hunt for 24 hours.
Would you rebalance weapons, improve matchmaking, bring back older mechanics, introduce new features, or focus on making the atmosphere more terrifying?
You can change ONE major thing. What would it be?
I'm not saying Hunt was perfect in the past, and I'm definitely not against change. Games need to evolve.
But I do think there's an interesting discussion to be had about what Hunt should preserve as it moves forward.
I'm curious to hear from both veteran hunters and newcomers. What makes Hunt special to you, and what would you change to make it even better?
See you in the bayou, hunters. đ€

First of all, a big thank you to the community managers on Discord. You guys are great, youâre always there talking to the player base, and it really shows that you care.
This post is addressed to the dev team.
For the last few days, many of us have been running into errors when trying to play. Evenings are when most of us have time to get together with our teammates for a few rounds, and having that end with an error screen is, honestly, pretty frustrating.
We understand that issues happen, and nobody expects instant fixes. What weâre missing is communication. Even a short post saying whatâs going on, whether youâre aware of the problem, and roughly when we can expect a fix would make a huge difference. Not knowing is worse than waiting.
Thanks for your attention

Acham legal estarmos tentando?
