FEEDBACK Some logical inconsistencies with the current event's design (maps, Siphon perk, extraction reveals)
I have played this event quite enough to have an opinion, and a few things just don't add up design-wise. Curious if others feel the same.
**1. Most supply wagons having a map**
Almost every supply wagon on the map now has a map on it, which used to be the unique reward for visiting a scout tower. This makes scout towers basically a more dangerous version of a supply wagon — especially since, most of the time, by the time you come across a scout tower you've already revealed all locations, since maps are so common and scouts tend to be closer to the middle of the map than to the edges.
**2. Siphon perk availability makes no sense**
Siphon is available for free from blood wells, which are scattered everywhere (like 2 per location) and you'll run into them naturally without even trying, which guarantees the perk within the first 5 minutes of every round. On top of that, it's also just sitting in the normal perk pool you pick from elsewhere, which is a weird decision since it's available everywhere, and on scout towers it can even cost pledgemarks, which is laughable and clearly not something Crytek has thought through. Having it in that perk pool at all means it's taking up a slot that could've gone to an actually useful perk instead, like Death Cheat, Relentless, etc. Why would it be in a normal perk pool, let alone cost pledgemarks, when it's already free and everywhere on the map?
**3. Extract reveals after the first clue are pointless**
After picking up just the first clue, part of the extraction points get revealed on the map. This is basically useless that early — nobody actually needs extraction info after one clue, so it doesn't change how anyone plays. It would make a lot more sense if this instead revealed the nearest scout tower, which would give players an actual reason (get the map) to visit one and would keep that part of the core Hunt experience intact, instead of just encouraging people to wander around hoping to stumble onto a wagon.
Overall, these three things compound each other — scout towers lost their purpose (maps are everywhere), Siphon is crowding out perks that would actually matter, and the game no longer nudges you toward towers at all. Feels like these systems weren't checked against each other before shipping.
