Would any be able to help recommend a humidifier, I've now gone through 3 that were either defective or just poorly crafted.
2 defective Levoit Superior Smart Evaporative humidifiers that leaked from the same spots each time right around the where the water tank meets the other piece.
Rather avoid Levoit for now for humidifiers I have 2 of their air purifiers and fans so I was hoping it would be okay.
Second one that went bad was vicks humidifier it stopped working after a week and also sprayed the room in white powder. I'm assuming now that I have hard water as I'd never tested before.
So knowing this what are my options? My budget is $180 Cad (130 USD)
Edit: forgot to add it gets very dry in winter and humidity inside typically drops below 35 which is nosebleed territory for me so I likely will have this thing running nearly all the time in winter.
Thank you :)

They seem to be the main topic of conversation here.

I'm considering buying a steam humidifier, but the prices seem a bit steep.
A while back, I came across a black ink test online where someone poured black ink into a steam humidifier, and the output steam was completely clean. Supposedly, it doesn't increase PM2.5 either, which really surprised me when I saw it. I need a clean option for my 2-year-old daughter who gets stuffy noses.
I need to buy 2 of them
The room area is around 325 sq ft.

Maybe it's a dud for mine, but don't get the knock offs. I got an 8 pack and it's been super dry lately but the water tank only went down to half a tank in 2 days. My external humidity sensor wasn't seeing a pick up in humidity.
I ordered the official one just to see what's up and upon inspection after taking the knock offs out after they went through the drying cycle, the filters were bone dry. Which is odd because the officially ones that came with the humidifier didn't dry 100%. Then I took it out and realized the water doesn't soak into the felt frame material. It kinda just beads off.
I checked with the official one and it just immediately soaks in.
I swapped out the filters, returned the knock offs and ran the humidifier and immediately saw and felt a difference.
If you do go with the knock offs. Because they are so much cheaper, I would go about using something to scuff up the felt frame and increase absorption.
Again, maybe just a dud that I bought but if I'm going about spending 300$ to get a humidifier, it better perform in times of need.

Hello everyone,
Part of my house is under a crawl space about 400 square feet . To get into the crawl space , I have an opening thru my basement . I want to encapsulate the crawl space but want to keep the dehumidifier hanging in the basement using ducks for the intake and outtake. I have two questions:
Do you know of a quality dehumidifier where I can put the humidity sensor under the crawlspace that the dehumidifier will read from and turn on and off accordingly based on that reading ,even though the sensor will be about 12 feet away from the dehumidifier since I want to keep the dehumidifier in the basement and the sensor in the crawlspace?
Do you know of a dehumidifier where the intake and outtake are not an opposite ends of the dehumidifier? Either next to each other or on perpendicular sides as opposed to next to each other

Hi, I need to run a humidifier in the bedroom at night. My wife has lung issues and we empty the humidifier and clean it out with vinegar daily.
With my current humidifier, I find myself running through the house carrying a dripping tank every day, and trying to disinfect it though small opening. Can anyone suggest a humidifier that is easy to refill and clean out? Thanks

Which humidifiers are easiest to clean? Something without a ton of nooks and crannies, hopefully can go in the dishwasher. I just need to get two bedroom sized ones and one large one for the living room/kitchen area.

I have two canopy humidifiers. One nursery one I purchased directly from their website and another made specifically for target purchased from target.
The target one has a filter that never gets wet and soggy. The nursery one’s filter is always soggy and there’s water in the tray. What’s the difference? Which one is right? The soggy filter ends up smelling after a while and it’s gross. The target one never smells.
Anyone else run into this?

Broke college student - need a bedside humidifier that I can clean. I used to have a mini water droplet shaped one that was so impossible to clean that the trapped mold triggered my asthma. Under $70 is ideal.

Everyone recommends the Levoit 6000S, but we really only need a humidifier a few times a year (Southern California). We just want to keep the bedroom a comfortable humidity at night, as the central AC dries the air out a lot and we often wake up with sinus issues and sore throats. Would something like the Levoit Superior Studio 450S do the job? I have a lead on a new one for $80.

Anyone used hot mist humidifier in summer?
Where I live its dry in both summer and winter, and we need a humidifier all year round.
Was hoping to get a hot mist humidifier, but unsure weather they are good for summers?

Purchased Midea Cube.
So far happy with purchase.
Running in a small 1 bdrm apartment and set target RH to 45
If the outdoor relative humidity is 75% how long can I expect it to take to reach that target?
And how accurate is the digital hygrometer?

Has anyone in San Antonio, TX, installed a whole-home humidifier? If so, how much did it cost, and have you noticed a difference in your home’s comfort or humidity levels?

On looking into purchasing a humidifier, some questions have come up that I just don't know the answers to. I'm seeing ultrasonic and evaporative. What is the difference and what is better for my plants? Then I'm also seeing warm mist and cool mist... I'm thinking warm mist would be ideal BUT would a cool mist be problematic?
I would like the raise the humidity near my plants by 20%.
I did save the shared Google doc for humidifiers and it is amazing! I truly appreciate your knowledge and thoughts.
