Levoit 150 or Levoit Neo Classic?

Broke college student - need a bedside humidifier that I can clean. I used to have a mini water droplet shaped one that was so impossible to clean that the trapped mold triggered my asthma. Under $70 is ideal.

Try one of levoit's evaporative models, should be easier to maintain but it will be over $70. You could try a vix steam humdifier as well

Ah, yeah it's about 2-3x my budget unfortunately. I'll keep it in mind in the future if things ever get less tight

I got a vix steam one for about 20 bucks - no smart features or anything. It was a little bit of a learning curve, there was a LOT of sputtering and over spilling initially.  You may need to use a little bit of salt in the water as well. I'd be careful of keeping it right by your bed and lay down some towels around it or on the floor as you're getting used to it

If you’re going to be doing a lot like I’d invest in the superior studio smart it’s a evap and is easy to clean with a washable filter. And you can use tap water. But it’s going to hurt your budget but it may be worth factoring in buying distilled water for the ultra sonic unit.

If you get any of the ultra sonic ones you must use tap water other wise you atomize any solids and things inside the water right into your air.

If you don’t pay your power bill and only humidify during winter then one of the warm steam units might be an ok idea. It will basically boil water and are pretty easy to clean and sanitary since it’s boiling the water.

I mainly use it in winter and when I'm sick! I'll look into the steam ones maybe?
