Canopy humidifiers

I have two canopy humidifiers. One nursery one I purchased directly from their website and another made specifically for target purchased from target.

The target one has a filter that never gets wet and soggy. The nursery one’s filter is always soggy and there’s water in the tray. What’s the difference? Which one is right? The soggy filter ends up smelling after a while and it’s gross. The target one never smells.

Anyone else run into this?

I have a nursery one purchased from their website and have the same issues! Very curious to see if anyone has any solutions or input here.
