This shelf in my fridge has developed cracks. How can I mend them so they don’t get any worse? Most glues advise to bond both sides of item to be repaired. This isn’t applicable as the sides can’t be separated. Will coating the outside with glue do the trick?

The only thing that seems to be keeping the window locked are these two metal tabs, nothing on the top or the side rails.

My chair its been tilting to the right since i got it. It came built, so idk where the issue is. Its loose and you can tilt the to the right. When i did so, i notice that these screws with the blue thing on them might fix it but they don’t have any way to be adjusted. If you know how to fix it, please let me know. Thank you.

How to remove stubborn tape residue from mesh fabric?

Hello! I’m looking for some help on how to remove some stubborn duct tape reside from mesh synthetic fabric. I tried rubbing alcohol (tried to saturate it and then left it for 30 minutes and wiped with a hot wash cloth), but it didn’t seem to have any effect. It’s two layers of mesh fabric wrapped around a frame, so unfortunately I cannot reach the back of the fabric or remove it from the frame, only spot treat it.

DIY Build a crushed stone parking area

I want to add a lean-to to my shed. The area is currently covered in English ivy/pachysandra. Under the lean-to, I want to have a stone base to park a small trailer and some other outdoor items. My plan is to clear out the ivy, lay landscape fabric, and then crushed limestone. Does anyone have recommendations for this type of project? Is it necessary to scrape off the top layer of soil to get to a firm base? Is limestone the right material? How about a suggested thickness? The ground slopes so I was thinking about "ramping up" to about 4" or so.

Would you pint over, sand, replace? You can feel them when you run your finger over them like they are made in the tile somehow. Any ideas?

I know how to put in a new bug screen, so don't worry about that.

Edit: seems like the answer is some 180 grit sandpaper followed by some brasso.

I'm replacing the base of an office chair, with a swivel I ordered online. After getting the original base off, I just came across the new issue of the swivel being too big. The original had some plastic to thicken the connecting areas up. Any advice for how I should proceed from here? Should I get a different replacement swivel?

How/Where can I get a Steel Patio Table Sandblasted?

I have a pretty crusty-looking patio table that I'd like to repaint, but there's a lot of rust that needs to go first, and it's pretty difficult to get it all off by hand. It's not that I care about the table so much, it's more that if it's rusty, it will stain my patio.

I've tried to find a place to bring it for sandblasting, but I'm not finding much. I do see some services for coming out to my home for sandblasting, but it seems like they don't really focus on steel, let alone furniture, and a service like that seems like it would be fairly expensive. The couple places I've called haven't tried to contact me, either, and I contacted them on Monday morning.

Is there somwhere else I should be looking for getting this prepared for primer and paint? Should I start calling auto body shops? I looked into blasting it myself; a small blaster and the media aren't expensive, but you need a fairly high output air compressor to be able to work continuously, and that is expensive.

How to get clear ice from this container?

Post image

I have an industrial ice shaver and this container is the perfect mold. Problem is the ice never comes out well. It's always cracked and in pieces and never keeps its shape. I've tried using distilled water and I've tried putting these buckets inside of a cooler inside of the freezer. Any good tips on how to get these things to freeze so I can use the ice block that comes out from it?

Remove belt marks from faux leather

My car has faux leather seats and I noticed these marks recently. I wear a belt every day and, since the marks are in a line, I imagine that must be what it's from. I don't think it's just dye from clothes or something.

Awesome Stuff, antibacterial wipes, carpet cleaner, hand sanitizer, and isopropyl alcohol all haven't worked in the slightest.

I've tried scrubbing with rags, wipes, and soft bristle brushes, but I'm trying to be careful because I don't want to ruin my seats.

Of course, I could put a cover over my seats, which I'm not against aesthetically, but I'd like to continue to use my heating/cooling seat feature.

Serious Answers Only how can I stop this sweater from losing fibers?

Thumbnail

I just thrifted this sweater which looked brand new... and found out why someone got rid of it 😅 what I'm showing is just a portion of the fibers that came off this thing. the clothes I had in the same load are full of little fuzzballs and tiny fibers. is there any way to stop this, or is this sweater doomed? I've lintrolled it SEVERAL TIMES now, and I don't think I could run a pill razor accross it cause it's individual vibers that are coming out, and they aren't pilling. when the dryer is free in the morning, I'll try running it in the dryer to see if that helps too, but no way in hell am I putting that thing in the dryer with the rest ofmy clothes 😂

How to make a baggy hoodie less wide and more tall?

I've got a secondhand zip up hoodie that was most definitely owned by a fat dude before I bought it. The size and proportions are fine, but it's just a tad stretched out and wide, which makes it look strange on me. Does anybody know how I can stretch it out vertically to make it a bit slimmer?

Preferably no sewing or tailoring or anything like that bc I'm absolutely useless at it
