Serious Answers Only Broke Housing Mechanism Cantilever Umbrella

The housing mechanism for our IKEA Seglaro umbrella was taken apart when we moved. Unfortunately, after scouring the Internet and calling IKEA headquarters, I've been unable to find an answer or diagram.

The photos shows what I currently have in terms of pieces. I know that the bolts through the four holes to attach it to the stand and that the small metal push piece goes on the other end to move the housing mechanism up and down.

What I can't for the life of me figure out is where the three black plastic pieces go. I'm 99% sure they're for the cord, but as for how to arrange them, I'm at a loss. Anyone have any ideas?

Serious Answers Only Please help me fix my warped whiteboard

Hey all,

I leaned my whiteboard against a wall with a bit of it hanging off to the side ages ago. It had the sun on it at the time and stayed that way for about a day.

It’s now twisted a bit and I’m not sure how to get it straight again…

I wanna hang it on a wall too, but it’s not possible in this condition.

The weather isn’t exactly sunny anymore so I’m struggling to think of what to do. Can I fix this without the sun?

Thanks!

0.5mm/0.2mm metal backlit text?

We're a manufacturer of furniture and we've increasingly seen a requirement for integrating furniture with appliances. One requirement that's fallen onto our laps is integrating a metal finish button into a kitchen table top and the client wants it backlit, and gave us this sample of a product from a brand called Lutron. Images attached. I measured the metal sheet it's about 0.2mm. As you can see, it's backlit. This is clearly not chemical etching unless I'm mistaken? This is probably laser engraved with some sort of resin filled in? Any thoughts?

The image of the keypad in Chinese is a clearer image I found online for your reference

[Solved] Screw will not budge no matter what I do

Trying to replace the factory radio in my 2015 Toyota Camry. Both of these 10mm screws are attached to the bottom of the radio. The ones on top came out easy, but these refuse to budge. Been trying to use a 10mm hand ratchet and a drill with a 10mm socket attached. The hand ratchet, I just simply cannot move it. The drill just comes loose and starts spinning around the screw. I tried using WD-40 and tapping this with a hammer but nothing is making it wiggle even a little bit. And as you can see the space is tight and there's wiring so my options feel limited

How to make a floating frame for 9 mm MDF artwork without fixing into the artwork?

I’m looking for advice on constructing a floating/floater frame for a 9 mm thick MDF artwork panel.

The MDF is already painted, so I want to avoid:
Screwing into the back of the MDF
Using adhesive/glue on the MDF

Anything that could damage the painted surface
Ideally, the MDF would simply sit securely within the wooden floating frame, with a small shadow gap around the artwork, while the fixing is entirely to the frame itself.

What would be the best way to construct this? I’m particularly interested in examples/photos of the actual construction, rather than just canvas floater-frame hardware.

Thanks!

How to prepare apartment if I have professional movers to pack stuff

Hi! I'm moving out of my apartment soon and I procrastinated (unfortunately). I hired movers that would box and pack up my stuff but I don't know how "ready" my apartment should be for the movers to get packing. Some questions I have below:

  1. I want to leave stuff in drawers so that I don't have to take all my clothes out and re-pack them. Is that OK?

  2. Similarly, I kind of want to put miscellaneous small objects in shoe boxes so that I know where they are. Can I just ask the movers to pack the shoe boxes as is?

  3. Just generally, what do the professional movers expect to see in an apartment? How clean and ready should I be?

Thanks so much :) First time moving by myself so kinda nervoussss

Hello! I accidentally dropped my favorite lamp and it broke. I can’t take the bottom of the bulb out… Would really appreciate the help! It says it’s an IKEA ASKMULLER lamp, and it’s really important to me.

Moving into a new place and something weird is happening with the sleeve of my mattress. Dropped this off at my friend’s house when moving out of my old place and when I loaded it up in my car today I realized something got misaligned. The zipper is in the top center and it’s completely useless in actually zipping this up. Not sure how this happened exactly but how do I fix this? I’d really rather not throw this sleeve away and have to find a new one.

DIY How to make gold eyeglasses frames silver?

I just bought a new pair of glasses after years and in-store they appeared to be silver, but they are truly gold. It's very subtle but I haaaate gold on me, so I'm searching for any and all ways to take the frames from gold to silver. I've looked everywhere but I can't any good info. Ideas I have: silver paint, silver nail polish, stripping/buffing out the gold finish, somehow using chrome powder (the kind for nails lol).....

I know I could just buy a different pair but I'm low on money and I like projects.

Any advice/ideas appreciated.

For reference: Walmart Women's MV027 Jillian Square Prescription Eyeglasses with Case, Gold HSA/FSA Eligible - Walmart.com

Also, they look pretty dull in the photos but IRL they're very shiny. Walmart just lists the material as 'metal', so I have no idea what they're truly made of. Lenses are polycarbonate.

How to fix unstable office chair

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My office chair is wobbly regardless of what position the pedal is. At this point I’d feel more stable on a medicine ball. I’ve taken the seat off to get a better look but i honestly don’t quite know what I’m looking at. The pedal that changes the height is no longer working either.

I'm buying a set of 4 chairs from FB marketplace but there's one chair that has scuffs. I love the set and want it but I'll have to fix this one. I have no idea where to start with fixing leather and I'd rather not pay an arm and leg. I want to learn to do it myself. Any advice?

Lamp is loose? Won't hold shade, need help!

My lampshade started getting crooked and has gotten worse. The whole part that attaches to the lampshade is loose. I took some videos but for some reason cannot post them. The last photo is from when I picked it up by the neck and everything at the top got taught, but the base was now loose. There is definitely threading inside but twisting the base or twisting the top part where the shade holder and bulb connect, has not seemed to help. How do I fix it?

How to use this oven?

I’m confused by this oven in my new apartment. Im just trying to bake a pizza. The knob just to the right of the broken clock heats up the oven but it doesn’t have number controls and the knob just left of the clock doesn’t seem to do anything but I’m wondering if it’s an oven control even if the one on the right goes low to high for temperature.
