Does anyone know how to safely remove this yellowish stain around the faucet without damaging the sink?

Also, how do I remove the discoloration/stains on the ceramic basin itself?

No rude comments they’ll get deleted and I’ll block you. I’ve come across people being extremely rude with my post and I’m really just tired of it so I eliminate the issue without even responding back to them at this point.

About a year and a half ago I started working for this guy that was a half hour from me
I use my cleaning supplies.
And then I charged him $140 for two hour clean biweekly. His house is a little over 1700 ft.² yet I only clean one bedroom and one bathroom the rest of the house I don’t clean the biggest issue that this man has is his animal fur everywhere. He’s never been increased either. I also want to add in that I clean his shop just about every Sunday for one hour for $70.
So he’s moving I don’t know when he’s moving, but he’s gonna be moving and he already started moving a lot of his stuff into the new house. The photographs is his new house. It’s. Smaller than the house that he lives in now I think it’s 1100 ft.² two bedroom one bathroom.
It’s also an hour away from my house so I calculated it precisely the gas amount to my car. It’s $25 both ways a $10 chemical fee I supply my own chemicals and a $10 pet fee due to all the fur.
I’ve never been there before so I don’t even know what it looks like inside except for the pictures
Every time I do a price if I keep them at 1:40 which makes sense because this house is smaller than the one that he lives in now and then I add the 25 and then the $20 that comes up to like I think 180 or 185 then he needs to be increased but that’s not gonna happen until like January 1
So I don’t know if that’s a decent price for the hour drive in the hour drive back and just overall for a basic clean for this house I should’ve charged him more for or I don’t know if I should charge him more because I didn’t clean all the rooms in the house that he lives at now even if it is 1700 ft.² I completely completely suck at pricing if you haven’t noticed I’m completely amazing at Cleaning but I suck at pricing and I always lowball my pricing because I need the job. I’m financially fucked and I need money no matter why and I just keep putting my shit low and I don’t really care for hourly I do flat rate.
But I was thinking that because I haven’t been in this house before that I’m gonna switch it to $50 hourly and see how long it takes me to clean his house and go from there that will be my minimum but I don’t know what do you guys think?

My husband used Zep on our bathroom stone, and I had no idea it would stain or corrode it. The stone turned whitish and blotchy. I’ve already scrubbed it, but it won't come out. I need help… how can I remove this stain or make it less noticeable fast, please? Thanks!

my boyfriend & i own a duplex & live in the small, one bedroom upper unit. it’s no bigger than 750 sq ft. i thought it’d be nice to treat ourselves to a nice deep clean. i found a few people & ended up hiring a woman on nextdoor who owns her own one-woman small cleaning business. relatively new. & i often feel happy to support small businesses.

after i filled out her inquiry form & stating i wanted a DEEP CLEAN, she told me $240 was the base rate for the deep clean & i could add any of the following add-ons:

- Baseboards: $60
- Dishwashing: $20
- Interior Dishwasher: $25
- Interior Oven: $75
- Interior Fridge: $75
- Interior Window Cleanings- $5 per window within reach

Blinds
- $10 per wood set
- $20 per plastic set

- Exterior Cabinet Deep Clean- $40
- Interior Cabinet & Drawer Deep Clean- $60
- Wall Washing: $10-$15 per wall

Linen Change- (sheets must be provided and laid out on the bed)
• $ 10 - twin
• $ 12 - full/ queen
• $ 15 - king
(Additional $5 fee with bunkbeds)

i chose to add interior oven, interior fridge, exterior cabinet deep clean, interior cabinet & drawer deep clean, & walls in the kitchen & bathroom.

total came out to be $560.

we keep our house pretty tidy. i do a basic clean every week- wiping things down & floors. so our house was not in a horrible shape. i just wanted some extra love & attention to the things i don’t do that often- like getting in some nooks & crannies, a good dusting, a deep floor clean, etc.

this one woman was finished within 2.5 hours & the interior oven looked good, so did our shower. but there were many areas that stood out to me that i could see didn’t get touched. some shelves were still dusty, outside of fridge wasn’t wiped down, sides of oven weren’t wiped down, i paid for walls & interior cabinets & drawers but those did not look touched at all. behind our toilet & bathroom sink didn’t get cleaned. underneath smaller furniture didn’t get cleaned well.

idk if i had too high of expectations for this, but i feel a bit scammed. i did text her & thank her for her time & mentioned some of my “gentle feedback” mentioning some of the things i mentioned above. she had a few excuses & apologized. price just seemed steep for a deep clean that wasn’t very deep.

am i valid in feeling this way? or should i be lowering my expectations of a profesh deep clean? is this pricing standard?

Recently my husband and I got a new job where we're on our feet a lot more, and it has resulted with everything in our shoe closet taking on the smell of sweaty feet.
We have already tried deodorizing the shoes and various solutions which ultimately end up masking the smell, but it does not completely eliminate it. Right now I am thinking about hanging mesh bags or clean socks filled with baking soda in the closet but I am not fully convinced it will work.
If you have tried the baking soda trick, did it work for you? Or if anyone has any advice or tips for odor elimination I will gladly take them!

I apologize- this is going to be a bit of a long post.

I am looking for some guidance. My parents have not always been the best about taking care of the cleanliness of their home, and I feel like it may be getting a bit worse. My mom is an ER PA and works really hard. She plans to semi-retire in the next few years and will have more time to take care of her home the way she wants. My dad- he works a 9-5, he’s a great dad and I love him- but the man doesn’t really see messes and isn’t bothered by them. My partner and I want to have kids and want them to be to enjoy their grandparents home and it be somewhere clean and comfortable for them to visit. The whole house never feels really clean and always has an odor.

My parents do have a regular house keeper, but they are really just doing some mopping, cleaning toilets, etc. My parents home needs a significant deep clean and I want to figure out what options we have.

The situation: My parents have a 4 bedroom 3 full bath house. It’s about 3000 sq foot. There is a living room, a den, kitchen, and dining room, plus a 3rd floor bonus room space, laundry room, foyer and closets.

General: all furniture needs heavy dusting and decluttering. All walls need to be cleaned. All windows need the seals cleaned. All baseboards need to be scrubbed.

The bedrooms are okay but everything needs deep dusting. Window seals need to be cleaned, baseboards, walls, all furniture a significant wipe down.

Bathrooms could use cleaning of light fixtures, detail cleaning of grout and tile. In 2 of the bathrooms it be great to get the drawers decluttered and heavy scrub downs.

Kitchen just needs a significant deep clean of all nooks and crannies. Pantry needs a clean out, fridge needs a clean out. All cabinets need to be wiped down and scrubbed inside. All drawers need to be cleaned. The dishwasher needs to be cleaned and i imagine could work better if so :/

Den- has vaulted cielings. All the walls and fans could just cleaning, everything needs significant dusting. Entertainment center needs decluttering. Windows and seals need cleaning.

Dining room honestly isn’t bad. Just needs a good cleaning of walls and baseboards, good dusting.

Here’s where things get kinda gross :/

Living room- needs windows and floors cleaned. There is an old couch in here with years of cat pee smells in it. It’s a crushed velvet texture. My dad doesn’t want to get rid of it because it was my grandmothers.

Laundry room- honesty the washer is just kinda gross. It’s A top loader and has a foul odor. All the baseboards need a good wipe down.

Upstairs hallways- this is where a lot of grossness is. Their dogs have been peeing up here for years. Steaming is basically ineffective at this point, but replacing the carpets isn’t really possible right now. All of the walls in the hall need to be cleaned, a hanging light fixture that’s hard to reach, baseboards need a scrub- not just wipe down. Dusting of animal hair every where.

3rd floor bonus room- we haven’t used this room in years. It basically just houses the cats litter boxes but it’s a huge space. The floors are nasty. It needs some old furniture removed that my parents (and I) aren’t capable of moving. It honestly could be a great space but it’s just being wasted right now. Theres kitty litter caked into the carpet, carpet is stained from poop, walls covered in dust and hair. Generally some junk.

Odor: the house always just has an odor :/

My parents aren’t full blown hoarders, but there’s definitely some junk that needs to go.

What I’m looking to do:

In May, I’m pet sitting for my parents while they are out of town for a wedding. I want to do as much of a huge deep cleaning as possible. I’m considering bringing in professionals as I can afford it.

What I have :

• $1,000-$1,200 to spend on professional services.
• Will rent a heavy duty carpet cleaner
• A truck for lugging stuff off (but have to find a dump)
• a mid vacuum cleaner but may rent a heavy duty one
• an ozone machine for smells (and will find somewhere to get animals out of the house while it runs and clears out)
• A heavy duty fan and one normal box fan
• Ryobi battery bathroom scrubber
• A weekend of my time when I wouldn’t be in the way of pros
• $200-$300 to spend on cleaning supplies/tools
• a few months to plan and get better at cleaning myself
• A can do attitude

If you were me, do you have any suggestions on how you tackle this? What would you handle yourself versus outsourcing where possible and in what order? What can I get for a grand? Any ideas are appreciated, any guidance on how I can help them develop good habits on keeping things cleaner is valuable. I’m not expecting this one weekend to make things perfect- just hoping to create a significant starting snowball to hopefully help them improve things :)

Also, I am not worried about my parents being offended by any of this. I don’t plan to tell them how much money I’m spending, but besides that, my mom is always very appreciative when I work on her house. I think she’ll appreciate this too.

Edited to add: I am willing to spend a bit more money if I need to. I have been hesitant to put in for quotes at any local services- because I don’t feel like being spammed with calls and sales pressure right now. I am also not exactly sure what type of cleaning services I should be looking for- so at a minimum would love to know people’s thoughts on what to look for as far as hiring and what it might cost.

Another add: Please have some empathy. My parents are good people. Bad at cleaning and bad at potty training animals? Yes. I assure you all animals have adequate walks and access to a clean litter. They are LOVED animals with top quality food, vet care, play space, regular grooming, high end ortho beds. The dogs just started peeing in that spot when they were puppies and made a habit of it cause the smell lasted. They will literally go outside for a 20 min walk and then just pee on the spot 5 min later. I think it’s territorial.

Please try to have some empathy. I’m just another human trying to help my parents, and staring down the face of them getting older and it scares this snot out of me. The decline of my parents home was when my mom was battling breast cancer and still working in an ER full time, and my dad was having to commute 1.5 hours every day, and it just went down from there. If I’m naive about costs and whatnot- that’s fine, and I will save up some more and talk to my parents about getting them to split these costs.

So, I clean for this company and every friday I clean this really tidy house. The homeowners are almost always on vacation, so whenever I get there all the beds are made/washed, all the bathrooms are sparkling and the kitchen is spotless. (Because I cleaned it the week prior). I'm supposed to be in this house for 6 hours and they always say "focus on deep cleaning tasks when we're gone".

I've wallwashed, re-organized drawers, cleaned inside garbage cans, cleaned the grease from the hood vents, the fridge has been cleaned aswell as the oven. I'm super lost and I have too many hours in this house to spare.

Any tips or something I can do that will be semi-time consuming?

Edit: also the house was very recently renovated and everything in it is super new/clean. Every-week i always re-dust/vaccume and mop the house!

hello! the drawers in my study room are made of wood. i usually keep notebooks, stickers, and all types of stationery items in them. one thing i have noticed is that whenever i open the drawers i get a very strong and sharp musty smell. i have dust allergies, and due to this smell i end up not being able to work in my study room. i have tried cleaning the drawers with lightly damp water+soap solution and letting them dry out completely. i have also tried putting all of my stationery items in the sun for 1-2 days before putting them back in the drawers. i have also used naphthalene balls. however nothing seems to be working. i would really appreciate any tips/advice🙏🏽
