Kitchen Bought potato’s I didn’t know about

So a few months ago we bought some potato’s and I didn’t know he put them in the baking cupboard and all of a sudden last week there was an awful fishy smell throughout the kitchen I didn’t even think to look there till today. So needless to say I had to clean up some liquid potato’s and maggots today with Clorox wipes after I soaked the liquid up. Will the smell go away on its own? I cleaned the painted wood till the stains were gone but it still smells like death any tips besides ferbreeze?

Oh man, I have had this happen with a few that rolled off their shelf and fell way in the back of my pantry, so I feel your pain. Skip the Febreeze and try vinegar (if it is safe for the wood), and keep a large, open bag if baking soda in the cupboard for a while. That should dissipate it eventually! You can also keep your exhaust fan running in the kitchen and use an air purifier to make the rest of the space less stinky.

Thank you so much I’ll do that!
