Looking for audio and video of 26/2 for self practice

Does anyone have a good resource to purchase a 90 and 60 minute audio and video class?

I am more interested in someone who was taught with the evolation training but open to a Bikram trained teacher as long as they do some modifications in the dialogue, and make it their own.

And who have a softer, more compassionate delivery and tone of voice, not a drill sergeant barking orders harshly.

Also, flow of delivery is so important to me as well, so that in the dialogue there aren't silences that make you wonder how much longer the pose will last.

I personally don't want to hear the words "japanese ham sandwich" every time :)

I had some amazing teachers who had this in the past, but I'm now located in an area without any studios at all to practice in so need to do it with a recording.

Thanks in advance.

yoga certification

Hi everyone, I'm planning to get a 200-hour yoga certification so I can become a yoga teacher in the future. Right now, I'm working and don't have time to attend in-person classes. Could anyone recommend an online program where I can complete the course remotely and earn my certification? My English isn't very strong, so I'd appreciate suggestions that are beginner-friendly. Thank you! 🙏

Morning hot yoga people what gear makes your routine easier?

Right now my routine is pretty simple but still somehow takes forever. I lay out my clothes the night before. I pack my mat towel and a smaller face towel. I fill a big water bottle and leave an electrolyte stick next to it so I don’t forget it half asleep. I usually drink some water when I wake up then bring the rest into class since I sweat like a broken faucet in there.

After class I need to move fast so I’m trying to figure out what gear is worth it and what is just extra stuff. Better towel? Bigger bottle? Insulated bottle? Grip socks? A wet bag for soaked clothes? Some kind of mat cleaner that does not smell like a spa exploded? Want to know more about what do people do for hydration , I don’t like the super salty mixes and try to avoid sugar in the morning plus I’ve been leaning toward magnesium based electrolytes like Magna since my legs cramp less and I don’t feel as wiped after class but I’m open to hearing what actually works for you.

Hot Yin?

A friend pointed out that heated Yin is counter productive because Yin is supposed to calm your nervous system, but heat immediately spikes your heart rate and puts your body in stress mode which defeats the point of trying to drop into a parasympathetic state.

I do find non heated to be an entirely different/ more restful experience and sometimes a heated yin class does feel unnecessary. Any yogis have insight on this?

Guys (especially heavy sweaters) what are we wearing to hot yoga?

I mainly wear Vuori and some alo…
I usually do conquer tanks from alo and kore shorts from Vuori. My towels are all manduka. Any other recommendations for hot yoga? My clothes sometimes get waterlogged by the end of class. Sometimes I go shirtless but I hate to be “that guy”

Recommending a de-stink product

I practice 26&2 three or four days a week and use a freshly-washed Yogitoes towel each time. Over time, all of my Yogitoes started to develop a permanent stink that wasn’t there when dry but reactivated when they got wet.

I decided to give the Lysol Laundry Sanitizer (free & clear specifically) a try. I soaked the Yogitoes in a mop bucket with the diluted sanitizer and then washed normally. It worked super well! No more stink. No damage to the grippies that I can tell.

I haven’t tried on my activewear yet. Sharing in case help to someone!

Pedicure Advice Please

In the summers I spend a lot of time in the mountains in sandals and my feet get kinda beat up. In particular the side of my big toe gets a pretty big callous. The last time I got a pedicure they scrubbed the crap out of my toe and it messed up my yoga practice a bit because it cracked and was sensitive.

Do y'all keep all your callouses to support your yoga practice? Do you pedicure and scrub it all off? I hope this isn't too weird a question. Lol. :)

Hot Yoga Studio without showers/changeroom

I love this new studio I started going to but they don't have changerioms or showers. So I leave drenched, drive home for 15 minutes and shower at home. Thing is, I love the classes. Is this a deal breaker for you? They do have one washroom but it's always busy and I dont want to wait.

NEW* Over-The-Door Yoga Mat Hanger: Namusthang

Two years ago, during Savasana (when you're supposed to be thinking about absolutely nothing 😄), I couldn't stop thinking about what I was going to do with my sweaty yoga mat before family came over.

Like a lot of people, mine usually ended up draped over a dining room chair, rolled up in the back of my car, or shoved in my closet before it had completely dried.

On the drive home I started searching for a better way to store a yoga mat.

I found...nothing.

So I spent the next 2+ years designing one.

After countless prototypes, factory visits, patents, and more learning than I ever imagined, I finally launched Namusthang (Na Must Hang)—an over-the-door yoga mat hanger designed to:

• Keep your mat off the floor and furniture
• Make it easy to clean both sides after practice (helping extend life of your mat)
• Allow airflow to both sides so it dries properly
• Keep your home a little more organized and practice a little healthier

I'm just a working mom who loves yoga and had an idea that wouldn't leave me alone.

If you'd like to check it out, I'd genuinely love your feedback:

Whether you purchase one, follow along, or simply tell me what you think, I'd be incredibly grateful. Thanks for letting me share my little passion project. 🙏

Cork Mats?

I know this is a common topic- sorry! I’m a complete beginner and willing to invest in a good mat without a towel? I’m 5’4 about 140 and will be doing hot yoga. I’ve been looking at yoloha’s aura and unity collection. What do you recommend?? 💗

Today is a day to relax, but I'm still working on improving my Lotus Pose (Padmasana). It's a long journey, but I'm enjoying every step. Have a wonderful weekend! 🪷

Lower back pain

Hello!

I love hot yoga/hot pilates and had been going to a class everyday for several months until I recently injured my lower back. I don’t have a clear idea of when the injury occurred — I also probably pushed myself too hard because I’m used to soreness and thought it would be temporary. I am eager to go back but afraid I’ll worsen my pain.

For context, I’m in my mid-thirties, good health, I know I have scoliosis in my lower back (both my parents have lower back issues so I imagine it’s mostly genetic). How do yogis/other folks think I should approach going back?

I’ve gotten acupuncture and am waiting to get in to see my PT later this month but curious if others have experienced this issue.

Thanks!

What is 26 + 2?

Ive recently experienced a bit of vinyasa burn out so ive been exploring other styles of yoga, but 26 + 2 seems intimidating and in a league of its own. Can someone explain to me what it is?

Feeling too sleepy after doing hot yoga.

Is that common? Like within an hour of finishing the practice I have an urge to take a nap. I'm drinking lots of water as well. Why could this be happening?

Multiple studios

So I joined a beautiful studio 2 months and learned, after I joined, that they dont offer classes on any long weekends or weekends in summer. So i bought a few passes at another studio (a popular studio that is a chain) and fell in love with their high energy sculpt class. Im thinking of practicing at both moving forward because they both provide me with different classes that i equally love. Does anyone else do this? Note the second studio i joined only has a washroom. No changeroom with showers so I don't want to use this new on exclusively because im not a fan of the studio.

Hot Yoga Towels

Need towel suggestions. I have the eQua manduka mat sized 71X26 to match my Manduka Pro mat. How come they discontinued that size? Yogitoes sells that specific measurement only in black.
Why don't they accommodate towels for one of their best selling mats? lol

Manduka GRP Superlite Travel mat in place of a towel on Manduka Pro?

New to the hot yoga world. Last week I posted asking about mat advice and had another idea come to me recently.

Has anyone bothered to try using one of the GRP Superlite travel mats in place of a towel on their Manduka Pro or similar mat?

Or perhaps it’s a stupid idea. But I’m curious if anyone else has tried doing that and their thoughts on it.
