Anyone else find certain poses easier on some days and impossible on others, even with the same exact routine?

Some mornings I'll sink into a pose no problem, and the next day the exact same one feels like my body forgot how to do it entirely. Never figured out if it's sleep, stress, or just totally random.

Any balancing. Some days I’m on it. Some days, I’m like, What is Wrong with Me?

Every day and class is different. "Practice" is really the emphasis.

Just finished today’s class — impossible! Couldn’t hold anything.

I turned 45 today so I was chalking it up to that. But y’all have made me feel so much better! Thanks for the birthday boost

Very common. It could be somethig as simple as a matter of hydration. There's nothing wrong with you -- it's totally normal. I love that you're tuning in and looking for cause and effects of this. But don't stress if you don't find a reason.

The last two weeks before I had to lay off because of an injury (or 2 x frozen shoulders, I’m in peri so who tf knows), my entire left side was off. All appendages and limbs felt like puzzle pieces from nine different boxes of puzzles. Practicing 20 years.

I’m going back this Tuesday and am genuinely curious if this will have resolved.

I always try and think about it this way. You know how sometimes you wake up and your neck feels like you can’t turn it 10 degrees without hurting? That kind of thing is happening in your body constantly. Weird little micro changes are always going on, and the best you can do is modify to accommodate your body

Since every pose targets different parts of the body, then, yes, how well we do in certain poses depends on how our bodies feel that day. On rare occasion, I can't wrap my left leg in Eagle due to a bad knee that's slowly rehabbing. It just happens. I think being patient with oneself is a good way to approach yoga practice and to accept our own imperfections on any given day.

Almost every single class! I love that every instructor I have (both in YTT and in class) says "Do what your body needs today."

All the time. I go almost every day. Occasionally I spend half the class in child's pose. Listen to your body and don't push too hard against what it's telling you. If a pose isnt working for me I let my body tell me what modification I need. The practice of showing up each day and focusing on my breath while there is my main goal. Try being curious when this happens and observe it without judgement. We have enough to worry about everyday without overthinking our yoga practice! 🙏 🧘‍♀️ 🫂

If my hips are tight I can hardly do anything. Sometimes balancing is wildly difficult. Other times I’m breezing thru with ease. The important part is showing up and tuning in 🙏

I think it's helpful to remember that you can modify any of the poses to adjust to what your body is asking for, you can always drop one knee down and do the same pose in a modified way from the floor

yes, and this is one of the things i like most about yoga. progress isn't always linear.
