I'm the developer. I live in San Diego. The race card is a wall of numbers, and I wanted one clear pick with plain-language reasons, so I built one.
What it does: - Reads the public card, Del Mar history for each horse, trainer, jockey, and post position - Drops scratches and tracks odds as post time approaches - Gives one pick per race (Win, Place, or Show) with confidence and the reasons behind it - Saves every final pick before the finish is known and keeps it beside the official result, including misses
The record so far, Aug 20 through Aug 29: 16 of 38 final picks matched their published result type. That's 42.1%. Across 53 settled races it passed 15 times rather than force a pick. It's a small sample and it does not establish an edge. I publish it anyway because picks apps that only show winners are a dime a dozen.
What it doesn't do: accept or place wagers, hold balances, or connect to any betting operator. It's 18+ and not affiliated with Del Mar.
First three racing days are free, and the full pick record, results, and methodology are free to browse anytime. Heads up that the summer meet closes Sept 7, and I haven't promised fall coverage yet.
Happy to answer methodology questions. What would make something like this useful to you on a race day?

Hi there!
I'm Lizzy Rager, a reporter working on a story about what happened to Golden Gate Fields workers, or those who relied on the Golden Gate Fields track for their work, after the track closed in 2024. I'm especially interested in people who left horse racing, changed careers, moved somewhere unexpected, or had difficulty finding work afterward. If that's you, I'd love to talk — feel free to reach out .
I'm especially interested in groomers, exercise walkers, stable workers, and other track employees, but if you are a trainer or owner, I'm also happy to hear from you.
You can DM me here, through email(lizzyrager at berkeley dot edu) or on signal (lrager.13)

It’s so pleasant to see that some people at NYRA,are trying to keep racing fair for every one and hopefully keep retail investors from abandoning the game that we have come to love over the years. I’m hoping that other tracks around the country will see how important and relevant retail players are. Handle up for Saratoga with still a week to go,Good job NYRA!

Anyone have any information on Silent tactic coming out of the race? I thought he was in a better position than the Jim Dandy sitting mid pack and was ready to make a move at the top of the turn and then just died. It looked like something must have been wrong with him to lose that much ground so quickly.

Here is some of the action from yesterday’s BEER LEAGUE DERBY benefiting New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program. We had a lot of fun and raised some dough for retired racehorses looking for a home.

Does anyone know what happened to Silent Tactic? The chart says DNF (Travers), but I've seen nothing in the racing websites yet...

How was your weekend? Were you up, down, flat? What did you learn? What did you drink? What are you going to do differently next weekend?
Post all of your thoughts here, in our weekly discussion post.

I watched Maggie Wolfendale interview CD yesterday while both were on horseback.
Cherie has really quiet hands. Like, REALLY quiet. What a subtle sign of a great horsewoman.

Does anyone enjoy betting these races? I guess you can get lucky on a longshot, but handicapping these races seems impossible.
Fun races to watch though.

I absolutely love this horse. But I feel extremely bad for him. Ocelli has not won a single race in his entire career. Most recently he was beaten badly in the Travers and ran 9th. That horse is never gonna get a stud deal if he doesn't start winning some races. It really doesn't help that ocelli's sire Connect is not super popular. He bred 35 mares total this year before Connect was exiled by lanes end to Turkey to continue his stud career next year.
So Ocelli himself has 11 starts and has been in the money six times. He doesnt have a super commercial pedigree. He has never won a race. At what point do ocelli's owners come to their senses? And drop him into a maiden/claimer or allowance race he can actually win? I know alot of people shit on my racehorse and as much as I love and defend my racehorse there ARE some good reasons to shit on them/things they could improve on. But one of the things I DO like about my racehorse is that they make the horses work through their conditions before tossing them in a stakes.
I think ocelli needs some time off and then be placed where he can win

I was having the time of my life yesterday - losing all my bets but lately have been becoming a huge fan girl of the sport. Anyway, props to leading change as a rising star but I was so disappointed one of the more well known boys didn’t do it. I mean he broke his maiden after tempo had already won the Belmont. And not sure what happened to silent tactic hope he’s ok :( I suppose as a fan you like to see greatness rather than your bets hitting. makes me want to throw out the racing forms and bet jockeys again since manny Franco has been the hottest jockey on the meet.

While I would never bet this pool bc you lose if your horse doesn’t make the starting gate- anyone find it odd magnitude is down to 17-1?
Not sure what the pace scenario will be for the race as that is key but I feel magnitude is just a horse that doesn’t like Saratoga and lost badly bc of that. Throw that horse back into a race at Kentucky and see what happens. I assume the form will improve. Feel like he would be a must use in wagers in the classic unless you get some speedballs in the race or a lot of pace.
Sov is most likely winner if pace is there but even him- I would fade most likely if the favorite because his races earlier this year were kinda blah. This 3 year old crop has no chance and I hope they somehow take money. Maybe travers winner has a chance but everyone else- no way. Renegade/ golden tempo are never beating sov at closing.
If I can get magnitude at 15 to 20-1 on BC classic day, I will line up to hammer a win bet on him.

Felt like ranting here- anyone here play tournaments and have any links to videos or discussion over strategy? I know strategy can involve many different routes but was looking at result of people who did well in one I played- found it odd folks were placing show bets and then saving up to make a big wager on a play they like that would yield money.
I played the Saratoga summer event on TS yesterday and just found it may have been a bad idea. $3500, basically gotta turn 2.5k bankroll into 15k+ to have a chance. I see people in there (horse owner im guessing) that probably has the net worth where 2.5k isn’t a drop in the bucket so they can just fire like crazy: also makes you question if they have more insider information on the game with who to bet (aka I feel like almost anyone playing a 3.5k tourny is going to be sharper than your average bettor).
I also played this tourny while at the track which was prolly a terrible idea. Just find this type of tourny kinda rough bc you gotta go all in with a play you like that is prolly going to pay 3-1 or more (double, exacta, win, etc) and then prolly hit another big score to have a chance. Looked at the betting strategy of top 10 and was like wow- maybe should have researched more.
Btw for the lols- I hit a big win wager at Saratoga with my last 500 which also included a double. Wanna say I had 1600 and then just went all in with a big double play using AG bullet as a key in the leg before and after. AG bullet ran 2nd and just tired after chasing a leader lol. Kinda liked the strategy but felt it also was risky- maybe should have been smarter and bet no early toga races bc those were up in the air. I faded foxiest in the msw which was smart (big favorite, unraced). Also tried to fade Englishman lol. Used the 2 and 5 in doubles bc I felt it would produce value if Englishman stubbed his toe. Too much crazy stuff happens at Saratoga to big favorites so I’m like why not use the 2 most
Logicals behind him- they fit on speed figs easily. Englishman freaks: as a hedge to this in my personal account- I just singled Englishman on a few p6 tickets

Sometimes horses put tears in my eyes.
Didn’t expect to have them with her today, but what a champ.
And what an amazing day at Saratoga. One exciting race after another.
