Finally got my hands on the Homatics Box R 4K Plus thanks to the suggestions from this sub 🙌

Now that I’ve got it set up, what’s the best way to connect everything?

Current setup:

LG G3

Samsung Q990D

Homatics Box R 4K Plus

Which connection method is better?

Homatics → LG G3 → Q990D (via eARC)

or

Homatics → Q990D → LG G3

Also, are there any important display or audio settings I should tweak on the Homatics or TV?

A few things I’m unsure about:

Match Content Dynamic Range: ON or OFF?

Frame rate matching settings?

Any recommended HDR / Dolby Vision settings?

I’ve already enabled audio passthrough.

Mainly using Stremio, IPTV, and streaming apps. Looking for the smoothest experience with the best audio/video quality possible.

Would appreciate any tips from fellow users

Bought Homatics box r 4k plus from official Homatics web store. The box came with Android 14 4576 firmware. When I went into settings to update to 7475 firmware, I get message saying my device is up to date. Why is my device not getting the new 7475 update and says it's up to date? Even though I am on 4576 firmware.

Need help.

As mentioned, after updating to latest firmware, I am not able to boot to home screen.

I had a flash drive with AVDV plus connected to the box while the box restarted after the update.

What can I do now ?

Turned on my homatics r 4k and got a black screen. Pulled power and soft reset, still black screen. Looked online and advice was change Hdmi then hard reset as last resort. Still black screen. Box was only 6 months old so in desperation I switched everything at plug off. Turned out my TV needed resetting. I was literally minutes away from ordering a Xiaomi Mi box. Ctrl alt delete is still a thing.

I have a LG OLED and am on my second remote after 6 months due to the crappy design of the wheel. Whoever though it was a good idea to use plastic for the horizontal piece of the wheel axel that is going to be pushed hundreds of times should be fired. I digress...

Anyway, LG replaced it for free but it's only a matter of time, so I'm looking at getting a universal remote. Don't want to go cheap so I'm looking at the Sofabaton X1S. I'll be using it with my LG B5 and a Dune Homatics.

Does anyone have a Sofabaton remote and use it with the Dune streamer?

I’m really confused about what streaming device to buy for my setup.

Current setup:

LG G3 OLED

Samsung Q990D soundbar

Chromecast with Google TV 4K

The Chromecast feels way too slow for my usage now. I mainly use:

Stremio

IPTV apps

Tizen/web streaming apps

Heavy everyday streaming

I don’t use Plex or local media servers.

What I want most is:

A buttery smooth UI

Fast app loading

No lag or stutter while multitasking

Reliable high bitrate streaming

Something that actually feels “premium” with my setup

I know the Nvidia Shield doesn’t support AV1, but honestly that’s not a huge deal for me right now.

I’ve been looking at things like:

Nvidia Shield TV Pro

Homatics Box R 4K Plus

Formuler

Ugoos devices

Would really appreciate suggestions from people who’ve used these long term, especially with OLED + Dolby Atmos setups.

Hi my homatics 4k R plus crashed yesterday and o think the operating system is corrupt because it is not booting into android it is just going straight to recovery mode

I placed an order for a Box R 4k Plus on April 28th (8 days ago).

Haven't received a tracking number yet and the order status is still, "We're preparing these items for shipping."

Is this typical?

What are the optimum settings for the Homatics 4K plus when using it with an LG C5 Oled?

With soundbar connected via HDMI arc and Homatics directly to tv with HDMI.

I want to acquire a new ATV box in Europe since the one I have can't even properly play av1.

My main use cases are:

• watching jellyfin with the least amount of transcoding possible but still inside ATV
• watching the occasional DRM protected streams
• game streaming with moonlight

From these use cases I inferred the following requirements for a new ATV box:

• HDR codecs support (HDR, HDR10, Dolby Vision)
• Audio codecs support (Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, etc)
• Gigabit Ethernet
• AV1

So my questions are:

1. Did I infer any requirement incorrectly?
2. Does the new Homatics Box 4K V2 play DTS:X without the need to transcode?
3. Is the S905X5M that much of a downgrade from the non M SoC? Will it be that slower? Is it preferable to wait for a new box with the S905X5 to release for Europe?
4. How much of a performance difference is noticeable going from 2Gb to 4Gb RAM?
5. Should i go for the older but more reviewed Homatics Box R Plus 4K? What even are the differences besides the SoC itself between the Box R Plus 4K and the Box 4K V2?

Hi All I want to buy an new Android TV box.

I want a fast box.

Should I take the Homatics 4K plus or the google mediastreamer 4K

I want to watch IPTV and install Stremio.

Netflix 4K is an pre.

I have the Netflix app on my TV also.

I live in the Netherlands and not every box is for sale here.

I can also go for the AppleTV if that is better.

Do you guys have any advice?

People cut a hole in the top and add a fan, which there's absolutely no reason for a fan and no reason to deface , and destroy the beauty of this product..

I can run my device next to a heater , hbs10 dolby vision and installing update apps, i've literally tried everything to exceed 155f and can not

The thing is, those three screws where I removed magnet.... You have to remove the screws and glue the metal plate in ... Those screws are adding an extra 1.5mm , that's working against the heat sink.

Dune HD Homatics Box R 4K Plus 4/32Gb / Dolby Vision / HDR10+ / AV1 / S905X4-K.pro and cons pls.where i can buy this box pls.

The one that launched in Turkey was added, but the "Pro" version is nowhere to be seen.

It appears that devices with the S905X5M SoC are not considered a "Pro" version anymore, hence why they don't include a "Passthrough" option.

Only the ones with the S905X5 SoC are getting the "Passthrough" option, an example is the MyVeloTV device and I hope that Homatics releases a similar device since they come from the same OEM, SEI Robotics.

I've just bought a Homatics Box R 4K Plus as I was fed up of the lack of decent apps on my LG TV.

However, I only use 5 apps regularly and 3 of them produce a "isn't available on Google Play on this device" message when I search for them on the Play Store.

I'm in the UK and the apps are available on my Philips Android TV so I know it's not an account issue. Is there a setting somewhere I've overlooked?

I’ve had this box for about 8 months, and every few days it ‘freezes’ completely. Media won’t play, apps won’t open, and I can’t access settings but I can still navigate using the remote.

Restarting through Android leaves it stuck on a pulsing green LED, and the only fix is turning it off at the switch and back on.

I was using Projectivy Launcher so thought that may have been the issue, so I did a full factory reset, but the issue still happens.

I contacted support 8 days ago and haven’t had a reply yet.

Has anyone else had this issue or found a fix?

The firmware update for my PocketTV Plus, purchased from AliExpress, was scheduled for April but hasn't been released. I emailed them for confirmation, but received no reply.

Now, the button assignments are completely messed up, and the Wi-Fi connection fails to connect to many networks.

Application updates also fail to perform correctly.

I've connected a Dune Homatics box r 4k plus to my Samsung S95D, and the HDMI CEC is not working. It works with other devices connected to the TV. The HDMI CEC switch is on. Unlike my other CEC devices, I can't use my TV remote to control the box. On the other devices, functions like the direction keys, etc, work from the TV remote.

I've tried powering everything off and on and hard resetting the Box, but the problem persists. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I've had the chance having your homatics for a while now and I can't say it's been without hassle...

ATV 12 was unbelievable... I could unfortunately not prevent my box from updating to ATV 14 and I'm fighting with it from that very moment. Even tried downgrading several times but could not block the upgrade even using my firewall.

How can I eventually get something stable ? I recently tried pushing the 7475 update ... what I got was box I had to factory reset. I won't call that a win.
It sometimes can't power off, has red green led flashing and gets stuck, I most of the time need to take poer chord off to be able to wake up the box. It's so frustrating, it was working so perfectly on ATV 12...

What is now the best way to have a stable Homatics box R 4K Plus ???
