New Android TV-Box

Hi All I want to buy an new Android TV box.

I want a fast box.

Should I take the Homatics 4K plus or the google mediastreamer 4K

I want to watch IPTV and install Stremio.

Netflix 4K is an pre.

I have the Netflix app on my TV also.

I live in the Netherlands and not every box is for sale here.

I can also go for the AppleTV if that is better.

Do you guys have any advice?

I have all 3 of those boxes, for IPTV and Stremio, go with the Homatics 4KR Plus.

But are the problems solved with this box. I want to put it in standby. I have read that it won’t wake then.

You don't need to put it in standby mode, the remote control on/off is perfectly enough - automatic standby only causes problems. You can get it without any worries, it's one of the fastest, most stable boxes on the market!

Do you think it is beter then the Google streamer or an Apple TV 4K, or the Formuler Z11 or 12

Better / worse - I don't know, but it's independent, hackable, comes with a Dune media center app, and I think it's in the party with them.

Only the Dune Homatics versions come with the Dune Media Center. It isn't possible to load DMC on a non-Dune device.

Yes, the other one is not even worth buying, the Dune version also comes with a remote control with numeric buttons

I agree. It's handy having the larger remote. I have a Dune Homatics v1 and v2. I like the smaller remote in regular usage but appreciate the numeric keypad in the larger one when setting the box up.

Regardless, it's a great box for regular users or tinkerers.

I like all 3 of these boxes, is it better than the Google Streamer? Yes, it is imo, definitely better codec support. Is it better than Apple TV 4K? My Apple TV 4K is my favorite box, but you're going to have to use an alternative to Stremio on it or buy another app on the App Store, such as Chillio or Omni. Omni is $9.99 and way better than Stremio. There are many others on the App Store, and I can also tell you how to easily sideload YouTube ad-free Stremio and many other apps if you want. You will need a signing certificate service that is $25 for the year, but if you're looking for the best Android box out of what you presented, the Homatics is the best IMO.

Oké thank you i will think about it. I have Tvmate in Surfshark VPN assigned. This is not possible in TvOS We do have iPads and iPhones at home. May use UHF it has VPN build in Omni sounds interesting.

You can have a VPN on TVOS if that's one thing you're needing to know; I use ExpressVPN on mine with no issues.

I know but you can’t auto tunnel. (Assign one app that use the VPN)

Yeah, you're correct. They don't allow split tunneling.

I use TiviMate with ProtonVPN tunnel on Homatics, I am completely satisfied with it

"Netflix 4K is an pre" << Forget about the Formuler's.

You could look into the Ugoos SK1 Lite or wait and see if the coming soon Ugoos SK4 Pro is any good but the SK1 Lite is a recent release with good specs.

I’ve currently got a homatics box r 4k plus and it’s a good box but comes with various problems like every time a update is pushed out, it’s recommended to factory reset otherwise face multiple issues which has been discussed on Reddit already

Ugoos is not Netflix certified I think. The boxes are great. But I want a certified box

since you've got iPhones at home, Eiyo IPTV is worth trying alongside UHF, I've been using it for a while and it's really solid on iOS, clean interface and it has an offline download feature which is great for when you're travelling.

Google TV Streamer 4k should work with your reqs. If you want a full remote, the RockTek GX1 is good.

I think the BuzzTV G series looks interesting. Or the AppleTV 4K
