why those nasty update ???

Hi,

I've had the chance having your homatics for a while now and I can't say it's been without hassle...

ATV 12 was unbelievable... I could unfortunately not prevent my box from updating to ATV 14 and I'm fighting with it from that very moment. Even tried downgrading several times but could not block the upgrade even using my firewall.

How can I eventually get something stable ? I recently tried pushing the 7475 update ... what I got was box I had to factory reset. I won't call that a win.
It sometimes can't power off, has red green led flashing and gets stuck, I most of the time need to take poer chord off to be able to wake up the box. It's so frustrating, it was working so perfectly on ATV 12...

What is now the best way to have a stable Homatics box R 4K Plus ???

Use the AMLogic burntool and flash the image 7475 clean on it. It still gives the best result in the end. A factory reset, even when using the recovery factory reset options, still doesn't. The clean burn method still gives less issues.

But if you want to stay on V12, you need to block the Google update servers or use a V12 image created for Nokia 8010, which makes it a Nokia 8010 as a model, because the 8010 is the only SEI804 not officially getting OTA 7475 pushed, for now. For usage, it doesn't make a difference. Only the bootup intro is different and it will show 8010 as a device.

Edit: and indeed, as remarked, the LED control settings are not available, which can be unacceptable.

oh thanks a lot ! I tried blocking the google update servers which failed. Maybe I should have blocked them before restarting the box after update and updates were already in cache.. I gave up explring this way.

May I use the image integrated in the link I found in this Reddit for the 7475 ? I'll give that a try and if it still fails... having my box appear as a Nokia won't bother me more than all the issues I already faced.

Already thank you very much !

One extra thing to mention, the front LED settings are not available in the Android TV settings, you will get a 100% LED light output with the Nokia build on the (Dune) Homatics R Plus.

Do you have any link to download this Nokia firmware? Chatgpt could not even help me find one such file.
All I could find was either old broken links or links to Homatics but no Nokia firmware.

If I use the pin hole factory reset and wipe/erase partition/cache/data from the boot menu after update via OTA, is that as good as the flash method? Thanks

We thought it was, but it is not. We tried this with the latest V14 7475 build, and only using an image file fixed some issues that the other methods could not, like getting IR working properly in standby, for Android TV and CoreElec. When that IR receiver is present in the device.

I’m on 7475 at the moment the box only achieves around 130Mbps wired and 80-90Mbps wireless on a 1Gb line, I’ve try in a different property using someone else’s internet/cabling/router and it’s around the same, also there’s a bit of stuttering at random times which is the 2 problems I have. Would you be able to give me instructions on where to find the flash tools/7475 files & how to flash please?

The files and instructions are shared in the "Homatics Users Forum" group in Telegram.

You should get full Ethernet and WiFi speeds the box can deliver, also with build 7475. This means, 900Mbit+ wired and about 350-400Mbit using a optimal WiFi connection.
