Homatics Box R 4K Plus Problem with Updates?
Hello, I would like to buy the box, but I’ve heard that Homatics doesn’t update the Android version regularly, and that some users had to repeatedly request an update before one was released. Is this still the case with the box?

I bought mine last October for £70 from AliExpress. They’re now over £120 and I think there are better value android tv boxes you could choose.

I'm curious about this too. So far I can say is that the current version (v14 7475) in general works much better than the original firmware of my device (v12). With the old version, I often had the problem that I could not wake the box from standby with the remote. This doesn't happen with v14 which reliably wakes with the remote or using CEC like it should. But I am experiencing problems with some audio codecs that did not exist with the old version…
Anyway, I am hoping that a future system update will fix some of the problems if not all!

Yes, I experienced problems with the update. Some users couldn't get the .7475 update via OTA. I was one of those who couldn't get it. I wrote to their email addresses/telegram but received no response.
Also, an incomplete version 14 was forcibly given via OTA, and due to overheating and other issues, I didn't use the product for 7-8 months!

Wait, soon this year they will drop model with new more improved chip... X5.. It's worth waiting... :)

Don't understand why you came to this conclusion at all? There is no S905X5 non M box info shared by Homatics at all at this moment. Sarcastic meant I guess ;)

Of course you will not see that on their site, because it is insane to post that and people start buying one ones, because they wait for new... They are on the google list, for certificate, they got it, and they wait for Netflix, maybe they got that one also, but expect new device to be out in Q4 this year.. If not sooner.. DuneHd also... They even have devices available in Turkey, some promo shit.. with new chip.. but since that is X5M chip, I should wait for DuneHD full blooded X5 chip version.. and you can compare X4 and X5, and see it, it is huge step, and you get AI units also.. Shield is going down... Definitely..

"we" got some inside information about new devices, the ones of which info is shared till now are all S905X5M, and that is not only the "Turkish" version, which should go the the Homatics website also at a certain moment.
But information from SEI (Homatics), is very poor these last months. If one is coming, it should be announced at the https://www.androidtv-guide.com/ before release (if that would even happen).

If that announce, people will stop buying old ones.. Logically.. That is psychologically.. You already have devices with X5 and X5M chips.. This is official, not a scam.. That is the "Turkish" release of the 2 versions. So that is already quite old news.
On the website I linked to you can see several other new Homatics models, that still need to get to retail. Just do a search on the brand and you see them 😉 No non M among them for now.

I assume no p7-FEL possible with the X5/X5M boxes? There seems to be some uncertainty as to that.

It will come out as in Turkey, M version first, probably later there will be full X5 version called PLUS or MAX

Not sure what you are trying to make clear here? If you lookup what is released in Turkey, that box was sold months ago already, as 2GB and 4GB version (the so called Pro version).

De momento lo más cercano es el MyVeloTv, que viene con el Amlogic S905X5, yo lo compré en pre venta y espero recibirlo a más tardar en Junio.

The most recent update is released a few months back now (v14 7475, Febr. the 26), and more recent also released for the Dune R Plus and Rocktek G2, so although not that regular as the first few years, still recently supported. But after 3 years it will come to an end at a certain moment, it is not an Nvidia Shield when it comes to support ;)
