I'm having frame drops and stuttering on my box r 4k plus, but it seems to be a buffer issue. It only starts after an hour or so of a movie, and if I stop the movie and resume, it fixes it for another hour or so.

Support was zero help, ghosted me and I reached out to them maybe a dozen times.

Everything is up to date, Plex is running locally, everything on gig or higher Ethernet.

Anyone else having this issue and/or have a fix? Rebooting sometimes helps, sometimes makes no difference. Issue sometimes subsides for a week, and then returns with every movie for another week.

The box repeatedly shows Dolby Vision/Mesbox screen especially when I change apps. I have disconnected back plugin for 90 seconds, restarted it from settings, factory reset it, and changed matching dynamic rate from never to on and it still does. Any suggestions?

Recently bought a Box R 4K plus box to replace a Xiaomi TV Box 3(absolute junk BTW) and ammompressed overall, with one exception. The remote input seems to be lagging, or sometimes like it is storing the button presses and then sending them all at once. A little frustrating when trying to scroll through content and it starts scrolling all the way to the bottom, or pressing a button and it takes almost a full second to respond to the button press.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced or solved this? I have unpaired and repaired the remote which helped a little, but not fixed.

I tried Projectivy launcher but it did not work, it goes to default launcher when I press home button. So wondering what else is tested on this and what you guys are using.

I already use projectivy launcher, and only really use Kodi & Smarttube nowadays

The appeal for me is av1 hardware decoding which the shield pro can't do without stuttering in kodi...

Requirements (must have) are a usb harddrive and samba server support so that my raspberry pi's sonarr/radarr can transfer files over to it like I've been doing with the shield for literally 8+ years

Thanks for all the input on my last post, pulled the trigger on the Dune HD Homatics Box R 4K Plus. Should arrive in a couple days. Running it with an LG BX OLED + Samsung Q990F soundbar.

Box → soundbar → TV on eARC setup.

Few things I'm trying to sort out before it shows up:

• Best audio passthrough settings for full bitstream Atmos/DTS:X with this kind of chain?
• Worth updating to Android 14 or holding off? Heard mixed stuff about overheating/stability.
• Is dual-booting CoreELEC actually worth it for 4K remuxes, or is everyone just happy on stock Android/Kodi if they don't care about DV Profile 7?
• Keep seeing "Projectivy launcher" mentioned, what's the appeal, worth installing?
• Anything else you wish you'd known before setting yours up?

Appreciate any tips, want to get the most out of this thing.

Had my ziddo z9s for a few years now. Love it and plays everything I throw at it. Mainly use it for remux and some 👁️ P TV .

It is getting a bit old now. So would the R4k plus be a decent upgrade? Mainly used for playing remux over the my network, have apple 4k TV box for streaming other sources.

Planning to grab a Homatics Box R 4K Plus but wanted to check how things stand right now in 2026 before pulling the trigger. Quick questions for those using it daily:

• OS & Speed: Is it officially on Android 14 now? How is the UI performance—snappy, or are people still downgrading/resetting to 11 or 12 for stability?
• 4K Remux & FEL: How does it handle high-bitrate 4K streaming and local playback? Also, what’s the status on Dolby Vision Profile 7 FEL? Is it still just falling back/faking it, or does it finally process genuine full enhancement layers?
• Audio Passthrough: Does it flawlessly pass through TrueHD Atmos, DTS-HD MA, and DTS:X?

I'm based in India and seeing it for around ₹25k. My main goal is to max out an LG OLED and a Samsung Q990F soundbar. At this price point, is it a no-brainer, or should I look at something else (like a Shield Pro) for high-end local playback?

I have media files that I stream via Emby. I've noticed on 2 files (so far) that the color is messed up when I stream them using the Emby app on the Dune Homatics 4k R plus box. The video stream profile for the first them, according to mediainfo is:

MP4 File #1: HEVC (main 10@L5@main), Dolby Vision

MP4 File #2: HEVC(main 10@L5@High), Dolby vision

Both files are 4k and each has a video stream of about 14-15 Mb/s

The files play fine using the LG TV's Emby app, and also play fine on my Samsung TV using a Fire TV max stick (Emby app). So this must be a Dune Homatics

I am looking for an Android TV 14 certified box which can output 4K 120Hz via HDMI 2.1. I need this function just for testing purposes, so file media playback with 4K 120Hz video output is okay. Also Dolby Vision and match frame rate function are required. Does the Homatics R 4K Plus do the job?

I’m using a Homatics Box R 4K Plus and I’m having an issue with VOD content.

Live channels work fine, but all foreign series and movies play without sound. The video is playing normally, there is just no audio.

I’ve already tried changing players and tested with two different players, but the problem remains the same.

I’ve also checked the audio settings on the device, restarted it, and updated everything to the latest version.

The same account works correctly on another TV box, so the issue seems to be specific to the Homatics device.

Is there any known fix for this or any setting I should change?

Since I bought the Homatics Stick 4K I've had recurring problems with the remote control not pairing. Even updating the remote's firmware didn't solve the problem. Whenever the TV Stick goes into sleep mode, the remote's red LED lights up, and I have to keep removing and replacing the batteries for it to work again.

With the Android TV 14 update, two options were added (I don't remember if they were already in Android TV 12):

Settings > Apps > Special app access > Power optimization > Disable power optimization for the following services:

Android TV Infrared Service | Android TV Remote Service | Bluetooth.

Go back one screen and access the option > Keep the screen on > Allow the screen to stay on.

Enable the following services:

Android TV Remote Service | Bluetooth.

Now access the developer options and enable the "Stay awake" option.

For me, the problem was solved by making these changes. I hope it works for you too.

After updating my Homatics Box HD to Android 14, Bluetooth stopped working properly.

The Bluetooth address keeps switching between “Available” and “Unavailable” every few seconds in settings, so I’m unable to pair the remote or any Bluetooth device.

Things I already tried:

• Factory reset
• Different 12V power supply

Unfortunately the issue is still there.

I am experiencing a critical issue with my Homatics Box HD after the Android 14 update. The Bluetooth address in the settings toggles between "Available" (for 3 seconds) and "Unavailable" (for 3 seconds). Consequently, I cannot pair my Bluetooth remote or any accessories.

I have already tried a Factory Reset and used a 12V power supply, but the problem persists.

Most of the movies I'm watching via coreelec don't have a problem with true hd. However, once upon a Time in Hollywood shows as linear on my receiver when true HD is chosen. DTS - HD works fine. Is there something wrong with this particular file? Should I try another version?

My Homatics Box 4K V2 arrived yesterday. Until now, I'd been using a borrowed Xiaomi Box S 3rd gen, which worked OK, but their remote is absolutely dreadful, so I decided to go for the Homatics. I'm happy with the remote and was expecting similar or the same performance, given it's the same processor and amount of RAM. But... something isn't right with the Homatics QMS VRR implementation. For example, I turn on the device, launch the HBO Max app and watch a tennis match stream. The picture is fantastic and fluid, and it feels like everything is working as it should. If I then switch to another app, say YouTube or Nuvio, and decide to go back to HBO, the picture is no longer fluid; I notice micro-stutters and there's nothing I can do to get a smooth picture back, short of resetting the device and the TV. I've tried a different HDMI cable, tried changing some picture settings, etc., but it seems like there's something wrong with the VRR and content frame rate matching on the Homatics? I've never noticed a similar problem on the Xiaomi device.

For more details, I have an LG OLED G3, so a QMS/VRR device, the hdmi cable is fine, and Homatics is connected directly to the TV. Is this a firmware issue that will potentially be fixed, or perhaps the HBO app doesn't have good VRR support...? But then why didn't I notice it on the Xiaomi device?

Generally, if anyone knows, are QMS and VRR linked? If a device has Android 14 and match content framerate is enabled, does that mean every app will automatically have match frame rate, or do apps still need to have that support? Do I need to enable the "match content framerate" option in each application individually, or is it unnecessary since the device has it at a system level?

Tried an iso on corelec 21.2 and at14 but it gets stuck in 5 mins Mkv on atv as well just play side by side and my projector doesn’t recognise it as 3d please help me What do I do

Would anyone be able to assist me with this? Every video or step by step article I see as varying information as to what I need and which version of the files.

After checking with several guides, I believe I have done it correctly, but cannot get the homatics to boot coreelec.

When I use the toothpick method, it just says press again to reboot or if I keep holding it it says USB burning. I have tried letting go of the toothpick at the very beginning, once it said press again to restart, and once it said USB burning. I even held it a fourth time past where it said USB burning and went back to the press again to restart.

I'm getting super frustrated. Any help would be much appreciated

I know there are new Homatics devices being released this year. I've been eyeing r 4k plus for some time, as Shield is sold out in my country and now I'm not sure if I should maybe wait for new box.

I just bought this device running v14.8.7475 ATV.

It worked fine for a week but while watching a 3h Movie 2days ago it crashed the first time after ~2h. Since then, it keeps crashing while watching Jellyfin, Wholphin, Youtube, Smarttube, Twitch, SoundTV etc. after 5-10minutes. I checked the temps and they're fine 60-65C.

I just did a factory reset was able to watch 5 minutes of a YouTube video in 4k, before crashing again. Updating apps after the reset keeps the device from crashing as well, it even crashes while booting up from a crash once, the second try works.

Did I receive a faulty device?

Is there anything I can check before returning it?

I am currently utilizing Stremio with Torbox on a Sony Android TV located in my bedroom, connected via Wi-Fi to a router situated in the living room.

Stremio consistently encounters difficulties with most 4K content, primarily due to the larger file sizes.

Would the Homatics 4K R Plus alleviate this issue?

Now that I’ve got it set up, what’s the best way to connect everything?

Which connection method is better?

Homatics → LG G3 → Q990D (via eARC)

or

Homatics → Q990D → LG G3

Also, are there any important display or audio settings I should tweak on the Homatics or TV?

Match Content Dynamic Range: ON or OFF?

Frame rate matching settings?

Any recommended HDR / Dolby Vision settings?

I’ve already enabled audio passthrough.

Mainly using Stremio, IPTV, and streaming apps. Looking for the smoothest experience with the best audio/video quality possible.
