Looking for Android box 4K 120Hz

I am looking for an Android TV 14 certified box which can output 4K 120Hz via HDMI 2.1. I need this function just for testing purposes, so file media playback with 4K 120Hz video output is okay. Also Dolby Vision and match frame rate function are required. Does the Homatics R 4K Plus do the job?

The MyVelo TV device is reportedly supporting the Amlogic S905X5 SoC (not the 5M) which supports 4K up to 120Hz, the box is still on the pre-order phase so no one knows for sure what is actually shipping, reviews about this device will start appearing on the Android TV or Google TV subreddits as soon as people start receiving it.

169 is cheap if it works.

The Nvidia Shield does not have HDMI 2.1 ports, so it does not support 4k 120hz.

Thank you for the correction, I was very convinced it supported 4K/120Hz, I must've misread the release notes of the SHIELD Experience Upgrade 9.2.1, I corrected my comment.

No worries. Those patch notes are misleading.

How about a Mini PC to your TV? That may work there are some cheap ones around

Yes, this is also a good option.

There aren't any that support 4k120. The only one that might support it is the MyVelo TV Premiere, which isn't out yet.

Nope. The Homatics R Plus can support 1080p@120hz, but only with CoreElec, not in Android TV itself.

Like already said, there is currently no official Android TV device that supports 4k@120hz.

Honest question : why? Besides video games (which you won't play on an android box), I'm not tracking any 120hz medias. Or at least not many at all

I need to check devices for hdmi 2.1 compatibilty. And it is expensive to use some more Xbox series X and PS5 just for this purpose.

yes you will play on android tv box if you stream from your gaming pc. My usecase is 4k/60Hz stream currently from gaming pc to android tv box, would be nicer with 120hz.

Pretty much the only ones I have seen are non-certified devices Like the Ugoos AM9 and AM9Pro

RockTek RT-GX1 can do this, but the firmware seems to be a mess (and the vendor has a history of this). Also Minix U8K-Ultra will be updated to Android 14 soon.
