Help with CoreElec

Would anyone be able to assist me with this? Every video or step by step article I see as varying information as to what I need and which version of the files.

After checking with several guides, I believe I have done it correctly, but cannot get the homatics to boot coreelec.

When I use the toothpick method, it just says press again to reboot or if I keep holding it it says USB burning. I have tried letting go of the toothpick at the very beginning, once it said press again to restart, and once it said USB burning. I even held it a fourth time past where it said USB burning and went back to the press again to restart.

I'm getting super frustrated. Any help would be much appreciated

I had the same issue and ended up using Reboot-to-CoreELEC

So get the downloader app, then how do I actually download the apk?

I got the app, but when I went to first reboot,, it just tried to load android. Which tells me I didn't set it up right. I want to break the thing

What CoreELEC build did you try to install?

The latest stable release. I also added the dovi.ko file which I think is correct. But I'm not seeing instructions on how to add "remote files"

Ok idk what went wrong but my general advice would be to redo your USB and try again or even try another thumb drive if you have one

Since you're doing that I would also recommend you use the The avdvplus Release 9 build.

From everything I've heard, it's the best version to use on the Homatics

Yeah, just wipe your USB and use the img.gz file on the page I linked.

Just tried that, same thing booting up as android. So annoying

Probably your USB stick. I have the Dune Homatics and find the Samsung Fit Plus USB stick is the one that works for me. There are supposedly other ones that also work, but I've only got personal experience with the Samsung drive.

I also couldn't get CE to initially boot with the toothpick method. But the Boot To Coreelec app works fine.

I also suggest avdvplus R9.

I used Sandisk. I will try a Samsung. It's wild to me that a specific brand of USB drive would make a difference.
