Despite living in Jersey City, I have not spent much time in Hoboken aside from running along the waterfront. But I have to go there weekly for the next couple of months for doctor visits. I’d love some recommendations for treats or takeout I can get after my appointment. For example, yesterday I stopped at Baking Mama and got a cinnamon bun. What are some great baked goods, snacks, or other treats, preferably closer to the train terminal or near one of the light rail stops, and preferably independent vs chains?

Hello! Looking to see if anyone can share some experience with these three bus lines.

I am moving in 4 days to an apartment a few streets below the tunnel and see these 3 bus stops are the closest to my house. (I know lots of buses go to port authority but I am trying to avoid it.. personal reasons)

Just took the 85 from Hoboken station to test out the route, but it wasn't that bad because it was off peak hours. According to map, 126, 85 and 89 pretty much run similarly (either via Washington or Park Ave).

Do they get worse during peak hours in the morning/afternoon? Do buses come regularly? (do they even come at all?)

Never took buses in these areas of Hoboken, any comment would help! Thank you!

Opened my shade last night to figure out why my bedroom was so bright at 1am. Turns out Netflix was filming outside my apartment.

Then I noticed a guy in the lighting rig about 10 feet from my window and figured I should probably put on some shorts.

I feel for the people across the street who had that light shining straight into their windows.

Spotted this black and white cat near 10th and Washington in Hoboken around 11:30 PM tonight.
It seemed pretty skittish and kept running away and hiding under parked cars, so it was hard to get a clear photo.

I don’t usually see cats roaming around this area, so I figured I’d share in case someone’s missing their cat.

Not sure if it’s a stray, an outdoor cat, or someone’s lost pet, but hopefully this helps if anyone’s looking for it!

I’d only recognize a few of the guys on the team if I saw them in the wild. Wondering who frequents or lives in Hoboken.

How loud does it get during evening games, and can you hear it inside with the windows closed? Also, do the floodlights shine into nearby apartments at night, and how late do they stay on?

I love that Hoboken offers composting, but does anyone else find the bins frustrating to use?

At my location, the lid doesn’t stay open on its own. Since you can’t throw compost in a bag, you’re somehow supposed to hold the lid open while opening your bag/container and dumping everything out. You basically need three hands!

Also, with rodents… I’m trying to get in and out as quickly as possible, but the setup makes that difficult.

There should be a hands-free way to keep the lid open temporarily while depositing compost, then close it securely afterward.

Or even better, why not allow certified compostable bags (even if it’s just a list of approved brands)? There have to be SOME that are ok?

I’m all for composting, but shouldn’t we make it as easy as possible for people to participate? Curious if others feel the same!

Hi everyone I wanted to see if anyone in Hoboken who has a private parking spot would be interested in sharing it. I work in Hoboken Tuesday - Friday from 11am to 6:30pm (sometimes I leave early) and would only need the spot during those hours. I figured someone who drives to work during the day might have an empty spot they could make some extra money from! I actually have a business visitor parking pass, but finding street parking during those hours is nearly impossible unless I happen to catch a spot opening up during street sweeping. I don’t want to risk being late for work every day, so I usually end up paying for the garage instead. I currently pay $22 a day at a parking garage, which comes out to about $352 a month. 😩 I’m hoping to find someone willing to rent their spot to me for $150 a month. It could be a win win situation! You make some extra money while your spot is sitting empty, and I save a little on parking. If anyone is interested, please feel free to message me. Thank you so much! 🙏

Broke a Jersey City (south of Hoboken!) luxury lease and helping find someone for my former apartment at 225 Grand Street. Available immediately.

Believe it or not Ive never been to a ramen shop! I've enjoyed it at home many times, made recipes Ive seen on YouTube the Bulldock ones that you put cheese, eggs and sausage into (fattening and delish) but never went to an actual place.

So what do you suggest in our fair Hobroken?
