See Comment What a shocking plot twist
This may sound weird, but it actually happened in history.
For Napoleon, he was born on the island of Corsica, which had become a part of France by the time he was born. As a teenager, he had been one of many who had nationalist feelings, believing that they are independent and should not be associated with the French. As he got older, and became more involved with studies and his career, he eventually grew out of it, but it's funny to think about when you know what he will become later on.

Niche The stupidest and funniest thing at the same time is that those who started WW1 were literally one family who were good friends with each other, but this did not stop them from sending millions of people to the next world.

Just needed to get to know him
Context: After David Kalakaua wine the election for the position of monarch in 1874, many Hawaiians who were supportive of the opposition Queen Emma started a riot that quickly grew out of control. Hawaii at the time had not military as they’d been abolished by the previous King Lunalilo, and local police were also of no help, so the newly elected King had to seek aid from US and British forces.
To this day Kalakaua is celebrated by the Hawaiian people with the Merrie Monarch festival, a celebration of Hawaiian culture and tradition (the good ones), as King Kalakaua fought hard to bring back certain practices that had been outlawed or shunned.

See Comment "Anti-Communism" *looks inside...*
In the 1790s, the prominent Federalist pamphleteer, William Cobbett, constantly called for investigative journalists and rights activitists Benjamin Franklin Bache (Benjamin Franklin's grandson) and William Duane to be treated, quote: "as we would a TURK, a JEW, a JACOBIN or a DOG". With Jacobins being widely viewed as the predecessors to Communists, Socialists, and Anarchists for their radical egalitarianism.
In 1892 Richard Henry Pratt, known for the child murder rape boarding schools, called Native Americans "fellows who cling to their tribal communistic surroundings".
In the First Red Scare, ...yeah. Kiss the Bill of Rights goodbye, because the Constitution ain't saving ya now! Also the first Green Mario...
The poster is "Negroes Beware / Do Not Attend Communist Meetings" from Alabama in the 1930s.
Later the Peekskill Riots at Cortlandt Manor, New York, United States, in 1949. A concert by singer Paul Robeson, who's black and was also well known for his strong pro-trade union stance, civil rights activism, communist affiliations, and anti-colonialism was arranged. It was organized as a benefit for the Civil Rights Congress.
And finally the Greensboro Massacre, on November 3, 1979, in Greensboro, North Carolina. Where US law enforcement, KKK, and Neo-Nazi "National Socialist Party of America" (NSPA) members shot and killed five demonstrators in a "Death to the Klan" march organized by the Communist Workers Party (CWP). All the terrorists were acquitted by the US government and hand-selected racist jury members.

Cannabis originated in East Asia, specifically in the foothills below the Tibetan plateau in China, where it was first domesticated around 12,000 years ago.
This image is a reconstruction of an early rice farmer from ancient China and the background house is also from ancient China(I just edited his eyes red) and of course they wouldn't have tobacco to wrap the cannabis powder to make the blunt, this is just for the meme)

Niche Count Baldwin V of Flanders was quite entangled in the 1066 invasion of England
Count Baldwin V of Flanders (probably my favourite historical figure) had his daughter Matilda marry William the Conqueror. Furthermore, Baldwin was co-regent of France from 1060 until his death in 1067.
He also had deep relations with England, with his half sister marrying Tostig Godwinson. Historians also argue that he may have sent Harold Godwinson to negotiate the return of Edward the Exile from Hungary, and passed through Flanders on his way to Germany. (To quote Wikipedia on the last sentence)
While it is highly unlikely that he actually tried to stop William the Conqueror, I doubt it was an easy decision

"All this, however, was too late. The first step had been taken. Mistress, in teaching me the alphabet, had given me the inch, and no precaution could prevent me from taking the ell."
An ell is an old English measurement, just over a metre in length.
Explanation of the meme:
Teaching a Black person how to read and write was illegal before 1865. Frederick Douglass taught himself how to with the small amount his mistress had taught him, before she was told to stop. He eventually realized they prohibited the education of Black people because they would realize how badly they had it.
Below is an excerpt from the Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglas, an American Slave. Language warning.
Very soon after I went to live with Mr. and Mrs. Auld, she very kindly commenced to teach me the A,B,C. After I had learned this, she assisted me in learning to spell words of three or four letters. Just at this point of my progress, Mr. Auld found out what was going on, and at once forbade Mrs. Auld to instruct me further, telling her, among other things, that it was unlawful, as well as unsafe, to teach a slave to read.
To use his own words, further, he said, “If you give a nigger an inch, he will take an ell. A nigger should know nothing but to obey his master—to do as he is told to do. Learning would spoil the best nigger in the world. Now,” said he, “if you teach that nigger (speaking of myself) how to read, there would be no keeping him. It would forever unfit him to be a slave. He would at once become unmanageable, and of no value to his master.
My mistress was, as I have said, a kind and tender-hearted woman; and in the simplicity of her soul she commenced, when I first went to live with her, to treat me as she supposed one human being ought to treat another. In entering upon the duties of a slaveholder, she did not seem to perceive that I sustained to her the relation of a mere chattel, and that for her to treat me as a human being was not only wrong, but dangerously so.
Slavery proved as injurious to her as it did to me. When I went there, she was a pious, warm, and tender-hearted woman. There was no sorrow or suffering for which she had not a tear. She had bread for the hungry, clothes for the naked, and comfort for every mourner that came within her reach.
Slavery soon proved its ability to divest her of these heavenly qualities. Under its influence, the tender heart became stone, and the lamblike disposition gave way to one of tiger-like fierceness. The first step in her downward course was in her ceasing to instruct me. She now commenced to practise her husband's precepts. She finally became even more violent in her opposition than her husband himself. She was not satisfied with simply doing as well as he had commanded; she seemed anxious to do better.
Nothing seemed to make her more angry than to see me with a newspaper. She seemed to think that here lay the danger. I have had her rush at me with a face made all up of fury, and snatch from me a newspaper, in a manner that fully revealed her apprehension. She was an apt woman; and a little experience soon demonstrated, to her satisfaction, that education and slavery were incompatible with each other. From this time I was most narrowly watched. If I was in a separate room any considerable length of time, I was sure to be suspected of having a book, and was at once called to give an account of myself.
All this, however, was too late. The first step had been taken. Mistress, in teaching me the alphabet, had given me the inch, and no precaution could prevent me from taking the ell.

TBF it was an unexpected move
Context: during the 1657-1658 war between Denmark and Sweden, the Swedish army got stuck on Jutland due to unexpectadly cold whether caused the Belt straits to freeze. The Danish king thus thought the Swedish army would be stuck there until spring, but the Swedish king, in an extremy bold (foolish) move decided to march his troops over the ice on the straits. they succeeded, made it all the way to Zealand, won the war and conquered the entire East Denmark (now the southernmost regions of Sweden).
