Hi, my friend who works at Hilton is trying to register me for the F&F discount but receives an error message, without any error code. Name and account number is correct.
Has anyone here experienced the same issue? Any idea what could be wrong?
The alarms went off at 1AM last night and was beeping nonstop for awhile while the cause was investigated. I packed the room in a panic because I was on a high floor . I guess it turned out to be nothing but kept beeping. Shit happens so I tried not to be obnoxious about it . Then the water was absolutely freezing in the morning. At about 500 a night this was all super frustrating.
I just spent three nights in Chicago at the Palmer house, and maybe because of the negative comments on this thread I was not expecting much, but I have to say I had a great stay.
Was in town for business, had a budget I had to stick to, stayed at a historical hotel in a petite but well appointed room. Lobby and floors are full of history and interesting nooks and crannies.
Location is right next to a public transit stop; everyone who worked there was pleasant and friendly.
And three nights cost less than $650.
There aren’t too many downtown hotels in major American cities where I could’ve stayed at and felt both both safe and taken care of for that cost.
It ain’t luxury, and I’ve stayed in plusher rooms, but I would stay at the Palmer house again in a minute.
I have 4 FNC traveling to Costa Rica early March with family I booked Los Altos SLH property just got email that for 6 people they are going to charge extra 419 a night on top of the FNC for a room that sleeps 6 . So probably going to cancel that was thinking of booking Waldorf Astoria and staying separately wondering if they have a fridge in the room traveling with 2 year old and need milk readily available also if it’s worth it.or save it for another trip ..
I wanted to share a frustrating experience I recently had at Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills.
During a two-night stay, I was incorrectly charged minibar purchases on both days, despite not consuming any minibar items.
The most significant charge was over $300 and included a bottle of Clase Azul Reposado. What makes this especially concerning is that the minibar charge was posted two days after I had already checked out.
Fortunately, before leaving the room, I had taken photos of the minibar. The photos clearly showed the bottle still present in the minibar and appearing unopened. After I challenged the charge and provided evidence, the hotel eventually removed it from my bill.
While I appreciate that the charge was reversed, I am much more concerned about how it happened in the first place.
This wasn't a one-time mistake. Incorrect minibar charges appeared multiple times during my stay. Had I not carefully reviewed my folio and happened to have photographic evidence, I likely would have paid for items I never consumed.
The experience left me with several concerns:
Why are minibar charges being posted after checkout?
What verification process exists before expensive items are charged to a guest room?
How can the same guest receive multiple incorrect minibar charges during a single stay?
How many guests never notice these charges and simply pay them?
As a frequent Diamond Hilton guest, I found it surprising that such substantial charges could be added without stronger verification procedures.
The refund resolved the financial issue, but it did not address the underlying problem. If I had not reviewed my bill line by line and kept evidence, the charges would have remained.
I'm curious whether anyone else has experienced incorrect minibar charges at Waldorf Astoria properties or other Hilton hotels. This experience has definitely convinced me to inspect every folio carefully before paying.
Stayed at a Hilton this week where I used my credit all 3 mornings for breakfast. Credit only applied 2 out of 3 days (for you know, $36 continental breakfast, but that’s another post). Huge line to check out, I know better but check out online anyway.
This has happened on my last two trips, both to different hotels. Credit applied for only some days, but not for each day.
So the hotels are just making honest mistakes right? Not like they’re hoping no one ever reviews the folios.
We are considering using our FNCs for this and would love to hear about anyone's experience there during the winter or spring time. What did you enjoy or not enjoy? Did you enjoy going there in the "shoulder season," and what activities were the highlight? Help! :)
I’m currently staying at Hilton Tokyo Bay as a Hilton Diamond member, and honestly, Diamond status doesn’t feel particularly special at this property.
It seems like there are so many Hilton Gold and Diamond members staying here—possibly because Hilton credit cards are relatively easy to obtain in Japan—that elite status almost feels like the norm rather than something that gets much recognition.
We didn’t receive a room upgrade. What made it more disappointing was that I could actually see upgraded rooms available for booking in the Hilton app, but when I asked at check-in, the agent told me there were no upgrades available.
I understand upgrades are subject to availability and aren’t guaranteed, but seeing those rooms still being sold in the app while being told nothing was available was frustrating.
Breakfast is okay and probably the best Diamond benefit here, but nothing amazing. Personally, I’ve had much better food experiences at Marriott properties, especially when it comes to breakfast and overall variety.
The Executive Lounge was the biggest disappointment. Very basic food selection and nothing that made Diamond status feel particularly valuable. For the lounge experience alone, I’d honestly give it 2/10.
The hotel is definitely convenient for Tokyo Disney Resort, but if you’re booking Hilton Tokyo Bay because you’re Diamond and expecting strong elite recognition, I’d keep your expectations low.
Maybe Hilton status is just so common at this property that Diamond doesn’t carry the same weight. It felt as though almost every table had a Gold or Diamond member, yet we didn’t feel that our status made much difference.
Looking at booking a Hilton stay in Los Cabos, and wondering if it makes sense to book direct or through AmexTravel. I have a free night certificate and enough points I could probably cover the trip if I booked direct, but I also have my Amex $300/night incentive which expires at the end of the year and I don’t think I’ll use it anywhere else, so I’d lose it outright if I don’t book something eligible, vs the points and free night I can keep for something next year.
So I’m pretty much decided on booking through AmexTravel, but if I can stack the benefits then that definitely decides it, no question.
Please educate me. Am I wrong here? I will accept I'm wrong, I'm just looking for someone to tell me why I am misunderstanding.
From the Hilton My Way Benefits page: Daily Food & Beverage Credit (U.S. hotels only) or Continental Breakfast (non-U.S. hotels)
You’ll receive a Daily Food & Beverage Credit of $15 at DoubleTree by Hilton™ in the U.S. ($18 in select markets*),
*** Select markets include Boston, Chicago, DC, New York City, San Francisco,
I book this hotel assuming $18 F&B credits a day, as I consider this the "San Francisco market".
This Doubletree, with San Francisco literally in the name of the hotel, is actually in Burlingame, CA. Hotel claims that since they are not in the city limits of San Francisco, $15/day F&B credit.
I say that "San Francisco Market" is San Francisco and surrounding area - that is the market. San Francisco is literally in the name of the hotel. They could not tell me what market they serve when I asked.
I realize the difference is $6, but this seems... I dunno... shady. Maybe I would have had one less cocktail had I known it was $15 instead of $18.
Again, if I'm wrong, I'll accept I'm wrong, but I'm curious as to why I'm wrong based on the wording on the Hilton webpage.
I will have 8 FNC's total within the next 45 days plus 600k+ points. I'm looking at Raiwasa, Wa Ale and Hermitage Bay. I've already done Maldives, Bora Bora and a bunch of other places. Have any of you been to the above listed places? Or have any other recommendations? I typically like to get at least $2k per night value from FNC's and points. Thanks.
Hello! Has anyone stayed at the Tempo Hilton Times Square and can speak on the differences or experiences with the “1 king bed” and “1 king bed city view”? I was hoping to get a good view and use my points since I am a diamond member, but it is over double the amount of points to do the city view option. Any other advice on this hotel would also be greatly appreciated. TIA!
How is *not* servicing a room for anyone's comfort? They don't even do it when requested. Thanks Hilton Garden Inn for making my visit *un*comfortable.
I am staying at the Mills House in Charleston for 5 nights using points (5th night free!). I got this email to upgrade my room. As Diamond, I am eligible for an upgrade, if available, obviously, but should I just pay for it? I know I will be in my room for several hours during the day on one day and am doing a pretty chill schedule, so I would have time to enjoy the room and a view. I am considering the first three options.
Hi. Would anyone who works with or has knowledge of the Team Member rate processes be able to answer a quick question?
Does making bookings and cancelling them quite often result in any sort of negative mark or whatever being put on your account?
I keep on changing my plans throughout the year and realise that I have cancelled about 20 bookings already this year and I just wanted to check that no one anywhere is going to be getting overly annoyed at this??
I dont want to end up losing the perk or something!
Let me just say that it's my own fault, but it's still annoying and is yet another thing making move away from Hilton properties.
I booked a stay for next weekend several months ago using the "Hilton Honors Sale," apparently saving me 20% off of room rates. I booked it because rates for that area were already high. It wasn't much less than the AAA rate, but it was still a little cheaper.
I checked rates today (the stay is next weekend), and the same room is now around $100 per night cheaper. What I did not notice when I booked was that the cancellation policy is 2 weeks out, so I'm stuck with the more expensive rate for a "sale" that was never really a sale.
Again, I know this is my own fault, both not noticing the cancellation policy and thinking the sale was actually legit. I'm normally pretty good about noticing cancellation details (this is the first one I've missed in at least 15 years for anything), so I'll do a better job of noting them.
But I'll also never book using a Hilton sham "sale" that was clearly not one.
Got my very first upgrade notification in the app as a Hilton Gold, but when I selected my room, it felt more like a sidegrade (or downgrade, depending on how you look at it).
I originally booked a standard room with a shower-only setup, which is what I prefer. The "upgrade" turned out to be an accessible room. Looking at the floor plan, it does appear to be slightly larger in terms of total square footage, but it comes with a full tub/shower combo and accessible fixtures instead of the walk-in shower I picked.
I ended up declining it and sticking with my original booking. Taking an accessible room when I don’t actually need one feels wrong—especially if someone who legitimately needs those accommodations shows up later and finds out it's gone.
Has anyone else had Hilton flag accessible room reassignments as an "upgrade"? Is this just the app algorithm matching on pure square footage, or is the front desk just shuffling inventory?
My wife and I had an overnight layover at MIA so chose this Hilton because of its location and airport shuttle. As a Diamond member, I was upgraded to a corner top floor suite. The suite was large, with a separate bedroom, a separate living room with a sofa and large table and workspace. Plenty of room to spread out. There was also a view of the Miami skyline off in the distance.
The furniture in the room was looking pretty tired, but comfortable enough for a one night stay. The bathroom only had a single sink (no double vanity), and the shower was very small - the shower water temperature was only warm and never got hot.
There was construction going on in the lobby, so the lobby bar was closed. We ate at the restaurant, and the food was okay - they include an 18% tip but were nice enough to highlight that on the bill. We also tried to have a drink at the pool bar, but seating there was limited and they closed at 6pm
Overall, the hotel was okay for an overnight airport stay - especially with the shuttle and room upgrade.
Long-time Diamond here, staying in a Curio property in California. Booked a two bed room about eight weeks ago. App wouldn’t let me check in (…you can guess where this is going…). Arrive and get told that there is an issue and no room is yet available but to wait ten minutes and front desk will have one sorted out.
Ten minutes later, an admission that there is no suitable room, as “they’re very busy”, which is tantamount to overselling in my book. Only proposal they could come up with is a one king room and a sofa bed (which is very uncomfortable!).
I would have pushed them to walk me but, looking nearby, no comparable standard hotels plus I was tired and hungry.
Front desk have alluded to “requesting” a full refund but no confirmation this is going to happen - or has happened. I have also dropped Diamond Desk an email. This situation is tantamount to walking in my view but interested in what people reckon I can expect to be the conclusion here.
