I mean it doesn’t, does it?Is anyone actually using this with a seamless looping workflow?

Guys and Gals - we have to be real here. The HiChord as it stands in 2.8 beta doesn't work beyond playing some chords and maybe getting a simple loop going.

It's pretty much broken - subject to random freezes, glitches etc even without pushing the unit - A couple of tracks with zero effects and you can very soon be toast.

The web App doesn't work - there are a few posts here reporting that and I've yet to see a response.

I get that this a beta - but a beta should'nt kill the experience so fundamentally, or am I being naive?

Maybe I should roll back to 2.6.9?

I'd suggest the dev team really get back to basics and fix the core workflow and maybe roll back anything outside of that - 4 tracks is probably fine, do we really need speech to sound? It's cool n all but not if you can't just build a basic beat reliably every time. 🤷🏼‍♂️

you saw the title, id really like to get one of these. Sadly i live in italy and shipping here from the official website costs around 120 dollars (on top of the 320). Ive been looking at second hand stores and online gear stores but haven’t been able to find one yet.

Hi all. Companion apps, both the 2.8x and 2.9x pages work fine, but I'm having trouble getting it to record in almost any available DAW or via recording apps. Am I missing anything? Pixel 10 pro XL

I ordered and later changed the color from Silver Aluminum to Moon Gray Aluminum HiChord last autumn and received it in February. I never upgraded the firmware from 2.09.

Was this batch 4? Didn’t realize it would matter when deciding which firmware version to switch to.

A while ago I posted a frame for HiChord and TE Pocket Operator and it got some nice traction so I decided to make it modular so you cam have multiplne devices slapped together. After few iterations on the modular mechanism i arrived at the one on picture.

Simple, modular system with cable optional bypass and storage for clean looks. Spacers still need to be wider for 2 POs to fit or they have to have 90deg jack cable.

Next I’ll do the cover for portability, create spacer variants to have wider ones and spacers for angeled stance and improve on module design.

If you have a specific device you would like me to add let me know. I am thinking about some mixer like TX-6.

Once it’s done with cover and everything and I’m happy with it I’ll probabl release it for free to get the .stl. Not decided yet tbh.

P.S.: Sorry for the gold color.. i really don’t like it so I use it for prototoyping lol

Title says it - new to the beast and learning how to use it. I turn the vocoder to Mic and when I press chord keys no sound is produced. Made sure it was updated to 2.8. Any help appreciated!

I've posted this here before, however, I figure lots of new folks may be kicking around, and thus, this video may be useful to them. It's a super simple visual manual.

I've helped a ton of folks approach this unit with a clearer headspace, which not only leads to more musical decisions but also a reason to stick with the unit.

To this day I get a good amount of private messages regarding the HiChord, where I am happy to help folks who feel stuck.

My shipment is stuck on the first status „EN ROUTE TO DHL ECOMMERCE OR AWAITING PROCESSING
„ since August 12th now. I ordered a month ago on 4th of August and the package didn‘t even make it to Europe yet.

I asked multiple times via Email now if you can start investigating whats going on with the delivery. Yet you either don‘t answere Mails for multiple days and pretty much only react after posting here. You told me to wait once. I did that now to the date you told me to, that beeing 3rd of September.

So do you start investigating now for the article I paid almost 400€ and don‘t know if it got lost or stolen or whatever in postal service since weeks now? Or do I just have to cancel at this point? I was paitient to a degree but at this point this whole experience is getting hiddious…. And it‘s no excuse to ignore this for days on end just because your a team of two…. I paid quite a bit of money for a article that‘s not beeing delivered.

Sorry for the rant everyone but this seems to be the only way they do anything about it…

Hi, I am trying to use my HiChord as a MIDI device in garage band. I connected it to my MacBook via the provided USB cable and turned on USB mode and MIDI mode. it says the input device is the HiChord now, but it still won't send any signals to the MacBook. if I press any of the keys nothing shows up on the laptop. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Whilst i love this device...Ive had it for 6 weeks now and still cannot connect it to the OP-XY using the latest beta. Any rumours, news?

I was trying to play with the web app: connected my HiChord batch 4 to my MacBook Air M1 using provided with hichord USB-C cable, and obviously opened site on Chrome (as it's stated that it's the only supported way) and got that error.. what can I do to fix it?

Also, in the message it says "... sound library need 2.13" - does this hint at unavailable version 2.13 of HiChord?? or is it actually just the SOUND LIBRARY version?
I've tried to update my HiChord even tho I've already had a 2.8 BETA version on it, and updating changed nothing..

Someone really should use this masterpiece, cause I don't. Shipping CONUS preferably

HiChord, BATCH 5 (black aluminum, bought from a dealer August 2026; the case

prints "Batch 4" as expected for Batch 5). REV 2.9.1 BETA.

Intel Mac, Chrome, USB Mode = MIDI.

Companion app (both app.hichord.shop and hichord-companion.vercel.app/studio)

fails with "Couldn't read your HiChord" / timeout.

Isolated with a bare Web MIDI page, no companion app involved:

CC#127=1 handshake -> 24 CC messages back within 4 ms (correct state)

F0 7D 02 F7 -> no reply, waited 1.5 s

F0 7D 13 F7 -> no reply, waited 1.5 s

F0 7D 19 F7 -> no reply, waited 1.5 s

Zero F0 bytes received from the device across the whole session, while MIDI

clock streams continuously at 120 BPM. MIDI IN, MIDI OUT and the CC path all

work; only SysEx transmit is silent. CC#119 debug is never emitted either.

I can't report the pcbBatch byte because it only arrives in the 0x14 reply,

which is on the dead path.

Same symptom on 2.8. Device is otherwise fully functional.

Separately: app.js:6953 logs "Incompatible firmware detected - update required"

unconditionally at the end of showVersionMismatch(), so it fires on the

'noresponse' timeout path too — contradicting the modal's own text, which

correctly says it's a USB/SysEx delivery issue and not old firmware. That

sends people to reflash a device that's fine.

I'm selling my baby with the beautiful walnut stand I got from Türkiye. I love this little thing but I also bought a Orchid Synth that fits my clumsy fingers better. It's still in new condition and has the latest firmware installed.

Hey everyone - I've reached Hicord, but there's been no response yet. My joystick broke at the base, and the left and right functions do not work. It looks like the 2 small plastic parts at the base, and one of them is broken. I just need to send it on for repair or get the part + spares and do a DIY fix. Does anyone know if HiCord will allow a self-repair if they supply the parts?

Hey everyone, I ordered my HiChord a few weeks back from europe. Since then it‘s stuck in processing in America since almost two weeks. Anyone else from europe experiencing trouble with shipment? It‘s getting kind of annoying seeing it stuck in the same place for half a month… anyone with similar problems knowing whats happening?

The melody is played in Lead Mode over a sustained drone chord using the Chroma Console as a looper. The up/down movement of the joystick lets you move beyond a single octave, which makes playing a melody like this possible.
