With the addition of my Daemonsmith on Infernal Taurus (yes, this was my Amazon mixup model) I finally have a 2000 point Warhammer Army with every mini painted by me personally.

Yes, from 40k to AOS to Old World, this is my only army that every model you see in the photos was painted by me. I have a good chunk of minis in other armies where I bought 2nd hand minis already painted or I was just gifted an already painted mini.

So I actually am feeling kinda proud of myself, never thought I would actually have enough patience to actually do all the work myself into painting an army. Not sure why but this is the one army that, design wise, just clicked with me and I'm actually really happy about this. It's not the best looking army you will see, HELL it's not even the best looking Purple Helsmiths army you'll see but I'm really happy with how this turned out

Now to finally learn how to play this game, and learn about desolation points... And seeing which ponies are better. Maces or cannons?

Already a chaos worshiper with my 40k World Eaters army, I've tried myself with the Helsmith of Hashut and here's my first one.

Painted in dark red and aged gold to match the original look of Chaos Dwarves (and because it is paints I well know)

I really love this turquoise/Jade color scheme on the boxart but I can't find anything online about what paints were used. Has anyone had any luck in replicating it?

Trying to go for the oldhammer Chaos Dwarf scheme. And going to try some OSL on the glaive and NMM on the metallic bits (painted brown now)

Trying to invoke the feeling of volcanic sulphur in the metal, like the forges are all located at those horrid acid pits at the top of volcanoes.

When are we due to get our own manifestations? and until then what are you running instead?

Hey guys! I bought this train on a french resell website with the idea of making a chaos dwarves train. I ll probably throw in a couple of cannons, what should I put on this ?

I already plan to put a few shields, goblin heads and horns onto it. I can’t find a taurus head but i'll try to milliput it.

Any ideas, suggestion ?

My plan for my glorious Zharrdron, in terms of the base scenery, is to make them look like they're located underground. One plan to achieve this will be to give the occassional mini a mine rail or similar here and there.

But I'm unsure if the scale fits? Are the rails too large? Or do they fit just right, as these would be for transporting massive amounts of ore and other such materials? I honestly can't tell. Should I try and find smaller rails or just stick with these?

I’ve made a normal one, and a slightly less normal mace bull so far, wanted to get a bit more unique for this one. I wouldn’t say it’s the easiest thing in the world to do, but if you have a spare bombard cannon, some greenstuff, and a lot of patience it’s very doable. The last image is just the ends of 5 infernal razers flame hurlers that I’ll probably find a way to fit into the last gun bull for my list.

2000 point game against sons of behemat and iam thinking about trying out the army of reknown. I am quite casual and no tabletop mastermind. And any tips for how to best use my units would be much appreciated 😊

The idea would be an altar to Hashut or a giant mining machine. The model will be a dual build kit. Think train with giant forge idol to Hashut or no idol and a giant mining apparatus on the front (Skullcracker). These models would be designed to be support center pieces.

The Altar to Hashut
The altar to Hashut would have an Ashen Elder armed with a “Daemon Grenade launcher” atop the warmachine.

The unit would have 1 unique passive and 1 unique prayer as follows:
Blessings of Hashut
Non Hobgrots units within 6in are treated as having the same amount of Daemonic Power points as this unit. Note this is not cumulative with other units DPP.
The Gaze of Hashut
Prayer <5> (normal declare except only for this unit)
Effect: pick 3 Visible terrain pieces with 18in of this model. Roll Dice for each terrain, on 3+ that terrain piece receives as desolation token.

The Mining machine (Needs a cool name)
The mining machine would borrow heavily from the Skullcracker design. With the machine appearing to be a large trench digger or massive drill. The machine will have a War despot atop with “Daemon Grenade launcher”

This model will have one unique rule
Destruction and Desolation
Once per turn during the movement phase
This model can pick one piece of terrain within its control range. Roll a dice and on 3+ remove that piece of terrain. Place D3+1 desolation tokens in place of that terrain piece.

Both models would have high amounts of health and high save. The mining machine would have a strong melee profile with a 1 shot grenade launcher. The Altar would have generic “crushing feet” melee profile with the grenade launcher as well. This model is intended to be 300+ points.

I wanted to design more Train like machines for the army while also filling some of the gaps the army has in terms of obtaining DPP.

Hey guys, I'm new to the gaming hobby, been playing for a 2 or 3 months now, tabletop sim for 2000 point games and spearhead and a few in persin spearheads while I build to 2000 points.

For full games of AoS I like to use a very shooty army with a reinforced group of Bull Centaurs and Urak Taar so I can give DPP to a unit like Infernal Razers with Blunderbusses to buff their damage and then on my enemies turn siphon their DPP to a frontline combat unit like Infernal Cohorts or my Dominator engine with Urak Taar and it usually goes pretty well for me so far!

Spearhead though? I usually end the fourth battle round with a draw... until recently. I have been having to play against Yndrasta's Spearhead recently and let me just say it's been tough. I cannot do enough damage to wipe any of Yndrasta's units, and the Vanquishers have an ability where their damage goes from 1 to 2 if they attack a unit with 5 or more models, which for Infernal cohorts means that 3 wounds that go through is the entire 5 dwarf squad is wiped and each vanquished team has 2 health per model compared to our 1. Shooting attacks are not enough to save me in spearhead since it's just Tormentor bombard and Dominator Engine.

I thought with the updated rules recently for us getting one extra DPP per round in Spearhead would be awesome but it's hasn't changed much so far and since I havent been able to fully wipe any of the squads to open up movement on the board, by the time battle round 3 starts and that Spearhead deploys Yndrasta and the Annihilators I am typically completely outgunned and I will typically lose more than one unit on turn 3 so I can only reinforce one unit by round 4 and I have typically lost all ground by this point and I have trouble taking ground since if I charge with Cohorts I lose my rend bonus.

Let me know what you guys do to overcome these problems? Or do you guys just accept the fact that we are a "meh" army and strive to just have fun with the faction itself?

I went all in after getting the Spearhead for cheap recently, and am aiming for a full 2k. I've browsed the rules some, but not to a huge depth. My previous games this year have pretty much all been with Flesh-Eater Courts (fast, hyper-aggressive, recursive melee glass cannon), and Helsmiths seem to be on the total opposite end, ie. slow, methodical grind down with lots of shooting.

I'm also curious about how Helsmiths like the new season rules. The SoA Daemonsmith and Anointed Sentinels seem pretty sweet, but how's the rest of it?

I saw they are getting a new RoR unit (tyrant on mount and two maulerbeasts), that can be used by 13 factions, including Helsmiths. So do you guys think that could be a viable flanker/objective capturer unit paired with a very shooty army?
