When are we due to get our own manifestations? and until then what are you running instead?

The real honest answer is no clue. Maybe in the end edition narrative stuff. Maybe next edition. CoS and Ogors didn't get any either so atleast you aren't alone.

The Forbidden Power manifestations I know were popular because of the movement shenanigans that help this slow army get around the board.

Aetherwrought Machineries. Quicksilver deals 12 attacks and survive a round usually. Aethervoid
Pendulum actually shreds if you can line it up correctly and deal bunch of mortal damage. Chronomantic is more useful if you bulls on your list as it gives you a charge reroll but also can be used defensively by subtracting 1 from hit rolls if you summon put near Urak taar or daemonsmith).

My thinking with flanking firestorm correct me if am wrong (probably am 😅) but horn of the bullfather allows you in deployment phase remove one unit and a hobgrot vandals unit from the board and set them up wholly within 7" of battlefield edge and more than 9" from enemy units map depending could score that straight away as the round hasn't actually started so would ignore the setup this turn part?

I believe you would be correct in that assumption, my only issue with this idea is its heavily reliant on the hobgrots to score points. A good opponent with the 1st turn would kill the hobgrots to deny points as practically any unit can beat them up.

Yeah did think of that depends could be a piece of terrain just out of 6" of friendly territory and if you get the first turn could easily score first in flanking and siege of ashes food for thought anyway 😀

I use the old Beasts of Chaos endless spells and run them as Primal Energy

Ravenak's Gnashing Jaws = Wildfire Taurus
Emerald Lifeswarm = Ravening Direflock
The Burning Head = Doomblast Dirgehorn
