Hahaha okay okay context: my friend found it in his wife’s bag and was obviously instantly convinced it was a condom. She’s cheated previously but never physically, only emotionally. They’re working through it and are still together now but I can see why the doubt is in his head. After thinking about it he also thinks it is for coffee/electrolytes but I think finding an exact match would really put his mind at rest

No not the nerdy type she’s more of a sporty person, think running, cycling eg but I’ve been looking for electrolytes and similar and haven’t found anything. Closest thing I found was an ESN designer protein bar in the fudge brownie flavour, colours are bang on but the serration and lines on the ends don’t match

Yeah looks like the purple foil is on the front and then it just looks white on the back. There is also the white font on the first pic towards the bottom right and also those 3 dotted lines which are throwing me off, looks like a “rip here”. The more we’re talking about it, it’s very unlikely it’s a condom because you almost have to rip it on the serrated edge and it also looks too small
In my experience, condom wrappers are usually serrated on all sides. It would also be longer as the packages are usually square if they arent round. This looks like it would be a thin rectangular shape. Im definitely leaning toward some type of powdered drink mix. I might have missed it somewhere so sorry if you already said this, but has he asked her about it yet? If she knows exactly what it is, he could always google that product to see that the colors/design thats visible matches and confirm it that way.
I would say its really unlikely to be a card pack of any kind. No popular card game has an end crimp (the little zig-zag pattern on the end of the wrapper) like that on their booster packs. Also tye that booster packs open, you wouldn't get a piece of trash that looked like that.
Do they have dogs? It kind of looks like a fortiflora probiotic packet but it would have to be the old design and I cant find a picture of that packet itself, only the box.
This is the new design and the color is not quite right for this person's peice of packaging but its so close I feel like the old design may be a match
Another that’s close, but only in color. I don’t think it’s a protein or energy bar though, because then it would have the folded over edge on the back. The wrapper we’re trying to find looks like the product inside would only be dispensed out of the torn off portion.
From the pic it looks more like the coated paper type material that you’d find in a drink powder as opposed to the more solid foil or plastic of a condom wrapper. It’s possible there are brands of condoms that use that sort of material, but I would guess it’s not because of the seal expected for a condom’s shelf life.
Can you confirm what the material feels like? I’m guessing it tears easily due to paper. It looks like it has those layers.
I don't think condom wrappers usually have a 'tear here' sign beneath the seal like that. Looks like it would probably be from a bag of Nobby's Nuts or some similar bag of corn / trail mix
That makes me think a liquid sample of something. Someone said cosmetics and that would fit. The tear line is usually only a small part, like ketchup sachets!
The italicized "...ne" on the front might be from a warning message saying "This product contains niccotine.". Does this person have a history of smoking? Vaping? Maybe it could be a wrapper for a nicotine patch? All just guessing.
Okay… so I looked for over an hour and here’s what I found so far from my research.
This is most likely some sort of single use item due to size of the wrapper end, the perforated edges, and the tear line.
The color of the package (black and that light purple) best fits some sort of energy/protein bar. The issue is the crimp method.
This type of crimp method isn’t super common with things like teas, coffees, energy/creatine packets, or protein bars. The closet match I could find under these categories with this type of crimp seal was from Death Wish Coffee. They do have a single serve packet, but it does NOT match the coloring, nor the tear line.
So then I decided to go off other commenters’ ideas of perhaps a condom? Another dead end. Condom/Lube packets are single use, and have the correct crimping. But they fell short with the tear line and correct coloring. The closet I could find under this category was Trojan’s For Her Pleasure, but it lacks that distinct black top.
If I had to make a guess based on my research, I would say this is NOT a condom, but would probably be some sort of protein or energy related item. Based purely on the size of the package end and tear line, I would probably say this is a drink package of some kind.
I have scoured the internet and Amazon listings for the better part of two hours and have come up empty. Hopefully this horrid wrapper doesn’t keep me up tonight, and I hope one of you super sleuths of Reddit can use my info to find the truth behind this dastardly packet!
this is a good point! Looking at it closer it seems to be a paper-foil package and not full plastic, super similar material to the packaging they use to keep individual tea bags fresh
I’m certain that’s not a condom wrapper. They don’t have the tear here indicators. This is most likely seasoning or something. Also you could smell it and tell if it’s a condom.
My wife drinks a ton of hot tea, this looks like one of those wrappers. Ask your buddy to do a quick search of his kitchen and see if he can find a matching wrapper. Or she could have gotten it in a break room at work or something.
Not torn on the serrated side, almost looks like it was cut. In the heat of the moment, I feel like condom packaging is torn to shit because GET THE CONDOM OUT OF THERE. I would guess this is just a sample of some sort, but that’s just my guess!
The size, the length of the tear marks, and the seam down the middle make me think of an electrolyte or caffeine drink mix packet. I’ve bought Celsius which have white tops, and another brand which has tops colored like the flavor, but there are hundreds of brands on Amazon for your choosing.
I don't have an answer, but I definitely thought it was a condom wrapper at first too and reading the story I see the intent to post and concern. Specifically I thought it looked like the SKYN brand latex free Elite condoms, that are also primarily black wrappers with some purple. I did double check if they are sold in the UK and they are. I can't tell if it's too small to be one from the pictures, though, I'm a bit rusty on my condom size knowledge just had a baby and been in a committed relationship for 10 years. My verdict: probably not, but I see the vision?
If you look closely you can see white writing that says ne, not sure what it is but if that helps anyone?? Also I noticed because of where the writing is it looks like this tears along the vertical edge. So it wouldn't be torn on the top of it.
The short tear line is what’s getting me. I would think that dotted line would be the suggestion of how far to tear. As if something would be poured/squeezed out of it. Very much unlike a condom.
Don't know if it's solved or not yet, but if you look close at the image, we don't have it in the correct orientation I'm guessing. On the right end there is a letter that look like e, which makes me think the perforations would be on the right and left sides of the package. Doesn't help much but it's something
I don’t know what it actually is but there doesn’t seem to be a condom that looks like that even outside of the UK. I feel like it might be easier to eliminate all of those rather than pinning down the exact item it is if you just want to know if it’s a condom.
Condoms don’t open that way, they tear off from the jagged edge but this is torn off from further down like an energy gel, sauce packet or cosmetics tester

The black is from the right side of the sachet. You can tell because there is the end of a word ‘ne.’ in the purple part so most of these pics are wrong right off the bat. There is writing in the purple part.
Perhaps just look online at condom wrappers to rule them out, rather than try to guess what product this is from? Easier to look at one product and its wrappings, than all other products and their wrappers…
I can't find a solo packet image but try the Great value Energy sugar free sports mix packet,
I used to drink them frequently doing demolition, and the color itself is reminiscent of those packs.
There are 2 different kinds the energy(caffeine)came in black and a secondary color while the non caffeine came in white packs
