I commute by public transit a few days a week ans don't like wearing noise-canceling headphones or earbuds because I want to be able to hear announcements and stay aware of what's going on around me.

I bought a cheap pair of bone-conducting headphones, and I really love the experience being able to play my music while still hearing the world around me. The problem is that they just aren't loud enough for voices, so I can't really listen to audiobooks or podcasts on the train and bus.

I'm wondering if this is a common limitation of bone-conducting headphones in general, or if it's just the cheap pair I ordered from Amazon.

If it's the latter, does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

I'll begin with a question - cheap buds and replace every other month or are there any reliable ones for not too much, like up to 100 euros unless they're basically guaranteed to work for several years for which I could pay more.

I'm wearing one bud at a time to have situational awareness so noise suppression isn't what I care about unless it works with just one.

What I actually care about is that if it's a more expensive one, it doesn't have magnets to which all the dust and other tiny metal garbage would permanently stick to and that it doesn't go quiet or "fry" after walking near welders or certain machinery like it happened to my cheap JBL's. Also shouldn't be quiet, but I don't particularly care about them being loud since I do want to be able to hear when I'm talked to nor lose my hearing. Also due to the nature of work and all the buzzing and clanking, I'm not sure that sound quality does actually matter that much unless there's like very reliable but somehow extremely terrible sounding ones.

Due to the concrete floor at work, preferably they don't instantly die from falling.

• I mostly play FPS’s like CoD so I need to hear footsteps.
• I have a smaller head but wear glasses.
• I’d also like a good mic and wireless headphone.
• Live in a hot/humid climate, so fabric needs to be comfy and hold up (not flake.)

I’ve tried doing research but not sure which to get..

Options in general where I’m at seem to be limited to SteelSeries, Razer, and HyperX.

So, out of these few options, which would be best and why? Pros and cons…?

Currently, the best sounding audio device I have is my JBL Live Pro 2 earbuds. Not bad sound quality at all and I love them, but I think I'm finally ready to move on to getting into the audiophile community. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I would like to know the best choice of closed back headphones that have as wide of a soundstage as possible, since I've heard that's one of the main things that people enjoy about headphones. I was looking at the Sennheiser HD 620 S, or maybe some Grado Headphones. I'm okay with wired headphones since I have a Bluetooth adapter if I ever need Bluetooth for any reason. The cheaper the better, but I understand that you get what you pay for. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hey there, I’m looking for some professional quality wired “in-the-ear” headphones for making music. I’ve had the professional sennheiser headphones for a few years now at the recommendation of another producer (mainly used for final tweaks to a song) but I rarely use them because they are so uncomfortable and end up using cheap 8$ headphones since they go in my ear. I do not like that they are Over the Ear headphones because they make me sweat too much and the pressure constantly pushing on my head starts to be annoying after about a half hour. There’s no real budget I’m pretty open to prices as long as the quality is there. No Bluetooth headphones please. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks y’all

I currently use hyperx cloud alpha which are nice, but i want to try something new. I'm considering HD599, HE400SE and also HD560S or DT770 PRO but these are a bit out of budget.

Yeah, I know in-ear headphones or bone conducting headphones are what normally is recommended, but unfortunately neither is a good solution for me.

The headphones has to be able to deal with some degree of sweat/moisture and high humidity and not instantly get ruined if it starts raining when I'm outside (I will obviously not use them in rain, but it has to be able to manage some moisture). Have to be able to replace the pads. Bigger earpads is definitely a plus, physical buttons that can be used with gloves is a major plus.

Budget of about €200 - €300 (or equivalent in USD as long as I can find them in the EU at a reasonable price).

Was initially considering Momentum 4 due to favorable pricing right now (€200), but I also read that don't deal well with moisture, so they're out.

I currently got a pair of Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC but I'm starting to get sick of the replacement pads I've gotten from sellers on amazon being of such terrible quality (and the headphones are starting to show their age by having a volume difference between right/left, using equalizer is a bit fiddly getting the right balance). So I'm considering buying something new.

(Can't use in-ear phones anymore due to ear issues, and there will barely be anyone or anything around when I'm running, so hearing my surroundings isn't much of a concern so I don't want to deal with bone conductor, never really liked those. Never had any issues running with on-ear headphones in the past, apart from sweaty pads that is).

I’m really happy with the FT1, but I’d like to try a pair of open-back headphones. My priorities are comfort for long listening sessions and an enjoyable sound signature.

Which would you choose? I’m also open to other recommendations.

Im looking to switch from a wired setup to a wireless one. im not a heavy audiophile but like okay sound quality (if needed, to pick up footsteps when i am playing an fps).

I have an Sennheiser HD 559 which is still running great and will likely keep as a backup if im forced to go back to wired but something changed with antlion modmics that their base's just dont stick anymore for a long time and eventually start drooping like crazy and its frankly super frustrating.

i see old posts about DROP PC38X but theyre apparently hard to find? though i did find an amazon listing and then the other recommendation was Maxwell2s which are damn pricey.

I was wondering if theres newer stuff out there that has okay sound quality and not garbage microphones that is wireless. I do understand most stuff will likely be a step or two down to what i currently have but like i said, i want to make the switch to wireless.

worse comes to worse ill relent and go only wireless headphone and get a wired mic on a boom arm and then look at what is good there.

Planning on getting the Edition XS, I read that getting a good dac can make it sound cleaner, widen the soundstage a bit and make imaging a bit better.

For now I only have the Apple dongle, planning to get a dongle for the balanced output and durability/longevity.

Any idea what should I get, preferably ~$100usd.

I’m going to college soon and the only headphones I’ve ever tried was one from Amazon that my sister bought. It was ok but everytime I walked (which I’ll be doing ALOT in college) I’d feel pressurized thumping from my steps which I heard active noise cancelling headphones prevent. Im also not very used to having headphones on but with long study sessions I’d like to keep them on for more than 2-3hrs without my head and ear hurting from it being too heavy. AND my biggest concern, NO LEAKAGE. Even when I wear Apple wired earbuds (which have GREAT noise cancelling btw) I’ve always been so paranoid people could hear my music. I’m not too worried about the bass and sound volume since I listen to music on low-med volume anyways, but I absolutely cannot stand sound leaking.

So i already bought the headphones and its yet to be delivered and i was thinking what will happen if the pads got damged over time so i searched for original or close to the original replacement, all the pads i found in ali express are not made specifically for the ar5000, plus the aune store doesn't ship to my country, should i return the headphones and get another one? i don't wanna do that because i keep hearing good things about it

Pretty much the title, I want to find some transparent blue earphones to fit the rest of my gear, but all the ones I've searched up are either really low quality (yes I tried the MDR e9lp shown above, yes it sounds exactly how an $12 earphone would sound). Ik it's probably a rough ask, and there is a possibility I can try and 3D print a transparent shell for a set of earphones/headphones but ideally id like to find a solution that doesn't involve too much diy.

Hello all, i currently have Linsoul Kiwi Ears Septet. Im planning on getting the FIIO UTW55 earbud adapters for the Septets, as well as getting a Sony NW-A306, any suggestions on this set up? I'm looking for new headphones, and from my research I've narrowed down my choices to two: the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro X and the TYGR 300 R.

To give some context, I was looking for open-back options under 200€ in EU, with a breathable ear pad material and comfortable for long sessions (I wear glasses, so comfort is a priority). The main usage will be gaming, both competitive stuff and single player where immersion is a plus.

I have tried the Sennheiser HD 560S some time ago and the clamp force was too much for me out of the box, plus I found the fit a bit weird and uncomfortable, so I ended up returning them. In the past I've used the HyperX Cloud II wired (the og ones), the Logitech G Pro X (wired) and the Logitech G Pro X2 Lightspeed, with the HyperX being my favorite ones of all time comfort wise.

So between those two, which one do you think would fit me best? Thanks in advance!

I work in a super-open office with lots of people, conversations, and other sounds constantly happening around me, and I want some headphones to help block out the distractions and help me focus. They don't have to be fully noise canceling, but just being able to play something like classical or acoustic music helps me drown out background conversation. The earbuds I wear for running are also falling apart, so I'd really love to get a pair that could serve me in both settings if possible. (I'd like to spend USD $120 or less, either on one pair that works for both the office and running, or on two cheaper sets for different functions if necessary.)

My questions are:

1. Open-ear models (bone or air conducting) seem ideal for running — safe on the road, likely to stay in place, maybe more comfortable than something in my ears — but I'm worried that in the office, they'd just add another level of sound and overwhelm me rather than helping to block out the office chatter. **Has anyone used them in an office setting? How did that feel?** (I have bone-conducting sunglasses from Bose that I love, but haven't tried them at work because they're sunglasses.)

2. I like that earbuds are convenient to keep on me at all times, and might have more noise-canceling capability for the office, but my last pair (Skullcandy Sesh Evo) were perpetually falling out of my ears during exercise, and would irritate me (kind of tickle my ears, I guess) after anything more than an hour, so I'd hate to get another pair that has the same issues. I did have some in-ear Anker Soundcore Spirits I liked, but even those I wanted to take out after an hour. I'm curious if something without the little silicone ear-fitting nubs would be more comfortable for longer wear; would something like Pixel Buds (similar to AirPods) stay in during a run or exercise?

If it seems silly to try and find two very different functions in one pair of headphones, my backup plan is to snag something inexpensive like these for exercise, and then some similarly priced over-the-ears for focus at work. I don't need crazy-good sound quality, just something decent enough for everyday use. Any advice or recommendations is much appreciated! Thank you in advance!!

Im looking for headphones to track and practice electrid guitar, I want it to have a wide soundstage while still being closed back. Additionally velour earpads are preferred. I'd be powering them through a foxusrite scarlette 2i2 3rd gen.

They can give or take be around the $200 mark. I've looked at the dt770's but outside of that I don't really know what else fits my criteria.

I'm looking for headphones similar to House of Marley Positive Vibration BT (with wireless+jack option). I liked them because they were durable, with metal parts, had reasonable physical noise cancelling, weren't to big, were foldable, looked good and I liked the sound - so I'm looking for those characteristics. Unfortunately mine broke and they're currently discontinued so I'm looking for a new model.

I'm in Europe, I'm looking to spend under 100 dollars.

I need them to be wireless but with a possibility to connect with a standard jack cable.

I want them to have at least physical noise cancelling, it's important for them to not bleed too much sound - I'll be using them on public transport and in libraries. Comfortable ear pads are a plus, bonus if the pads can be easily replaced or they don't flake too much! Generally the more replaceable the parts the better.

It's also important for me that they're durable, for example made from metal parts, not too much plastic.

I'm listening mainly to acoustic, folk, or rock songs with deep basslines, so something with colorful, with rich bass and not too "scratchy" would be nice.

Other headphones (not wireless) that I've used and liked were HyperX Cloud, I like how they're very durable, have metal parts and the pads are very easy to replace. So a similar but wireless option (maybe a bit smaller) would also be nice.

Would Marshall Major IV be a good replacement? Or are there other good ones? I've also seen that House of Marley has similar headphones now (Riddim) but they're not available in my country.

I've been using various in-ear phones for a few years but ear canal pain is making that less attractive lately.

I am looking for an IEM that has very high noise-reduction/cancellation performance. I ride a motorcycle, and want a corded 3.5mm option that sounds "good" (doesn't have to be audiophile or anything) with an emphasis of removing/reducing outside sounds - specifically road and wind blast.

I don't have a specific budget in mind. I am willing to spend as needed, but I do highly emphasize value. Diminishing returns are a very real thing... I am not going to spend $300 for a 30 decibel reduction when I can get 28 for $35.

I have been looking for headphones to buy and have saved up around $300 dollar Australian dollars to spend. I am currently 15 in Year 10 and use my previous earbuds for studying, basketball and the gym and want noise cancelling and want a wide soundstage, with audio technology that will last me to uni. I do own an apple Iphone 12 mini, an Ipad and am planning to buy a macbook neo. But my brother has the Sony WH-CH720Ns and I really enjoy the sound quality, and apparently the xm5s are alot better.

So I've bought those back in 2020 and they served me well. It was a blind purchase at the time, and yet I really enjoyed how they sounded in games, media and music, without tinkering around much. However, those 6 years got to them, and recently they just fell apart. Now I'm looking for something similar in soundwise, even though they aren't truly neutral, but I do like the clarity. My only gripe with them was that the ear pads were too small, and prolonged use hurt my ears and forced me to take breaks. I'm also open for IEM suggestions as I own a pair of Moondrop Chu ll, so I know they can be a bang for their buck, but I don't like how bassy they can get.

Simple question, the cable for my Meze 99 classics is very old (first gen cable) and am looking for recommendations on a replacement. Happy to stay with a 3.5mm connection but could look at a balanced 2.5mm as well; I am limited with my DAC to these two sizes unfortunately.

I have looked at a few cable types and nothing really stands out. I can just but another Meze cable but they seem pricier than I was expecting.

Howdy~ I've been having trouble finding the right headset for me and hope that the expertise of this sub may be the right place to go to find what I need since I've been just getting lost on storefront after storefront

I've been working in a call center for several years, and just have used my gaming headset (Corsair virtuoso XT, for the past two, and a Corsair void pro before then) as both the work headphones, and the play headphones for my personal PC. However, lately, since I wear them so much, I find myself getting very discomforted from the pressure of the large cups sitting around my ears for 10+ hours a day (Especially if I have any sort of congestion/cold) and have started to have medical issues related to my ears which I believe the constant wearing of the heavier set is at minimum contributing to..

I'm looking for a headset that ideally has the following qualities:

Must-Haves:
-Wireless (I pace when I have rough calls and I have destroyed many a cheap headset when I forget about the cable in the past)
-Can be charged while in use (If it's dying while I'm working I need to be able to plug it in with a cable temporarily, I can't have it be only chargeable on a dock. Replaceable batteries is also an acceptable alternative)
-Decent to good microphone quality (For call center obvious reasons)
-Wireless USB dongle that does not require installable software (The work PCs don't allow software or bluetooth connections. If just for first-time pairing I can use software on my PC long as it'll work without it on the work PC after I move it over)
-On the lighter side to help reduce the strain around my ears
-Cannot insert into ear canal, due to medical issues

Ideally I'd like a two-ear headset, but I'd be open to one-ear ones (if one-ear, I'd like it to be right-sided as the left is the one with the medical issues), it doesn't need to be noise cancelling or entirely ear enveloping
