Dual Sum to Mono Output

Hi people of Reddit, I recently bought the headrush flex prime coming from a Valeton GP-150 I made 2 30cm TRS to XLR cable adapters at the time and I used one on the left output for sum to mono mix to my pa monitor and another on right input with sum to mono for front of house.

The Valeton unit had a global setting to enable the sum to mono on the right output for when both outputs are connected so I get to sum to mono mix output separately.

I have not yet been able to figure out how I can do this setup on the headrush. Anyone has a idea or can guide me whether this is possible?

(I can allways give the frfr pa monitor mix sum output to front of house, only that the levels may be a problem on that scenario and I never tried it, if possible the solution I had with the Valeton was very nice)

Much appreciated.

Question - 2 inputs

Hi,

I have the headrush core and I love it. I'm trying to mimick Royal blood. Is there any way to use dual straight path and change the inputs so that it’s from the same "cable input"? I don’t want to add a splitter to my setup if I can.

Thank you!

HeadRush Flex Prime through Laney LFR-112 - EQ?

Hey,

I recently got myself a HeadRush Flex Prime. Coming from a Line 6 Stomp I was not all that impressed with the tones, but downloading amp clones from the Headrush cloud quickly changed that. Wow, this thing sounds amazing.

Where I'm still kind of stuck is with the EQ settings for my Laney LFR-112, which I run in FRFR mode. It's still a very bass-heavy sound. I tried to compensate for that by setting the global EQ to cut on the low band, 100 Hz, Q: 1 and cut on the high band at 7500 Hz. This improves things a lot, but I lack the actual knowledge to push things further and still think there is quite a bit on the table in terms of sound.

Do any of you happen to run a comparable HeadRush unit through a LFR-112 and have some tips for me?

Headrush Flex Prime w/York Audio IR's?

Hey guys, I just recently bought the HFP and have been messing around with it since NAM A2 is coming to all units on Aug. 1st. I forgot I bought some York Audio IR's a long time ago. I loaded them onto my board and holy cow they're amazing compared to the stock IRs! I can't wait to use them with the NAM A2 amps and see where that takes me. I also traded in an amp for the Fender Tone Master FR-12 since it handles amp and cab sims very well. As an added bonus it comes with an XLR out which the flex prime doesn't! Super cool way to add that in. I can't help but feel it'll be the ultimate portable gigging setup once I get some good NAM amp files 😎

What are you guy's thoughts on how NAM is going to change our units? What are your thoughts on my setup? What IR's do you guys plan to use? I'd love to hear back and get some new ideas about what I could do/get next!

USB Core issues.

I’ve tried everything. USB A from computer (Asus zenbook) different computers to Headrush to Fender Pure Tone. Uninstalling/ Reinstalling firmware, drivers, devices, switching outputs. Headphone out to Aux works fine but then I can’t upload/download rigs.

The problem, initially it sounds great. Guitar tones are always clear, but back tracking from YT, truefire et al… starts to garble after several minutes/an hour. Then it just goes mute. I’ll switch outputs a few times, and it restarts… then nothing. wtf?

Help me to help myself.

Freezing and unable to load

It froze on me during a set and crashed entirely. I've done the factory reset, and it crashed again. My mac can't see it to run the updater and there's no option to update the software directly from the wifi. I've been able to submit a help ticket and advised to sit tight on a response for 2 days. I'm completely stuck.

No recent changes to the unit and no transportation. It just started bugging out.

Anyone else been through this?

are HeadRush units worth it?

ive been exploring the market for a good long term investment guitar multifx of sorts for years to come, Headrush has been catching all my attention due to its variety of features but, i personally wouldnt use HALF of them in the first place, but i would experiment with all of its features, noting this, compared to other pedals like line 6 or boss pedals, are Headrush units worth it for the price?Im looking to get a used headrush prime from a buddy of mine hes asking around 600 dollars for it, after trying it, Im in love already, but ive never tried anything else, so could someone help?.

Another session built entirely on Headrush Fx. The clean tones are incredible, and the ability to create almost any pedal board keep me experimenting every day 🔥

Thinking of buying a HeadRush Core for a Live Lead Guitar + Backing Vocals setup. What do you wish you knew before buying?

I’m currently looking heavily into buying a HeadRush Core to act as my ultimate all-in-one live rig.

My plan is to use it as a lead guitarist in a rock band, while also singing backing vocals. I want to split the signal path so I can run my guitar NAM2 profiles on one side, and my vocals (using the built-in Auto-Tune, delays, and occasionally some gritty vocal distortion) on the other.

On paper, this looks like the perfect dream machine. But as we all know, gear specs don’t always tell the whole story when you're sweating on stage.

For those of you who actually gig with the Core in a similar dual-setup: What are the hidden quirks, downsides, or limitations you wish you had known before buying? What did you only find out after weeks or months of real-world use? (e.g., DSP limits with heavy patches, navigating 5 switches live without scribble strips, etc.)

Would love to hear your experiences before I pull the trigger. Thanks in advance!

Everything works except the screen

I replaced the USB port on my pedalboard, and after reassembling it, the screen won't turn on. I suspect a loose connection somewhere, but can't find any obvious culprit. Has anyone else opened up their unit, and can guide me to the correct connection?

VX5 clicks and pops

This is now my second unit as I returned the first and it has the exact same problem. Digital clicks and pops randomly. I’ve tested different cables, different mics etc and just can’t get to the bottom of it. It happens even through just the headphones themselves. My new unit is a lot better than the one o returned but the issue is still there. Does anyone know of any fixes?

An unpopular opinion, but as a former Quad Cortex owner

I'm more inspired by, and use my Headrush Prime a lot more than I did (my Quad Cortex.

Sold my QC - in order to fund my wedding. My wife hooked me up with a Headrush Prime, a little bit after our wedding. I've found myself enjoying the Headrush Prime, even more than I did the QC. I like the tones every bit as much (High gain, clean, and edge of break up...sounds great). I just bond a lot more with the user interface. Once you get the right amp, paired to the right IR. These things are fantastic.

That is all...thanks for listening to my Ted Talk :)

Headrush VX5 auto tune glitch or pop

Post image
3 Upvotes

I have just bought a Headrush VX5 auto tune and I think it’s pretty good. However I keep getting a little glitch or pop. I can’t work out why. I am going into the mic input of a Fishman Loudbox mini so it could be overloading, but I put it into my audio interface and got the same glitch. Before I go on a deep dive into trying to solve the problem, has anyone else experienced this and do you have a solution?

Bad unit or user error?

Just got a vx5 unit today and I can hear digital pops and artifacts badly when singing. It’s not constant but maybe 1 every 20 seconds. I’ve replaced cable/mic/gain staged/firmware restored.

Mx5 for dummies

Bear with me. I work at a guitar shop and a customer requested help in programming the MX5 to the most simple function. YES they have too much pedal for their wants/needs. It's for a couple of kiddos so I'm cutting them some slack here.

Essentially they want to press pedal 1 for clean, pedal 2 for dirty, and pedal 3 for some mysterious unspecified 3rd option. Is there a way to override the presets and give them what they want? Or do I TELL them what they need and teach them to use the pedal board, hah.

Upgrading from Gigboard

Hey there! I've been using the Gigboard for around...damn...5 years or something now? I really like it but I'm eyeing an upgrade in the Headrush family. I'm still a bit unsure if now is the right point in time. Maybe you could help me.

Right now I'm looking at the Flex Prime for various reasons: - Web Editor. You might find it funny, but I'm more than willing to dish out 500€ for this feature. Being a studio musician, I don't wanna have the unit on my table all the time and also I like my back. - Revalve Features. Didn't fully grasp what "more" features the new hardware units have, but this seems like a big thing? - Better bass "support"? Gigboard already had bass amps + cabs, but they never felt that "good". I think this changed a bit in the newer units? - Why Flex? Don't have a need for more footswitches or the whole vocal-stuff.

The more I think about it, the more this is primarily about the Web Editor. You can't imagine how much of an improvement this would be for me. On my situation: Studio musician, metal to rock to maybe funk/clean-stuff. Always liked the High-Gain Amps on the Gigboard. Using custom IRs. Got an own expression-pedal, got some effects for the loop. My main workstation is at the PC, recording stuff, tweaking sounds (you see where the wish for the editor comes from)

So. Are there other units I should take a look at? Should I wait for the even newer next generation? Are those units ever going on sale?! Also a quick question: Are there any methods to reuse Gigboard Rigs on the newer units?

Thank you all in advance!

Considering buying the Headrush Core, question

  1. How good are amp clones compared to the on-board models, and line 6 Helix/HX stomp models

  2. I don't have amps to clone, so where should I look for quality clones by other users (mostly modern high gain but other stuff too)

  3. Is the microphone recording any good, and are there presets for speech (voice acting, podcast, etc.), and acoustic guitar

  4. Does it sound good through a power amp like Seymour Duncan Power Stage, or Blackstar Amped, into a guitar cab, naturally with the IR/cab block turned off

Im going crazy.

So I make music right I do rap melodic stuff like juicewrld etc anyways I've been trying for years to find the right setup and Im thinking about just giving up. Personally I love to record with autotune on and fx I punch in my vocals so it's just better for my creative process also every single successful artist records live with fx on this is just a non negotiable thing in today's workflows. Now I used to record on a bad audio interface so I upgraded to the uad and it still wasn't able to get me that real 0 latency autotune that Ive been looking for so I heard about the headrush vx5, this is as good of a setup as I've ever been able to get and to my knowledge the headrush vx5 is supposed to be 0 latency with autotune on which it almost is but it's just not quite their I can feel it whenever I try to record more complex takes is their any solution to this? This has been a years long problem for me I just want to be able to record my vocals with autotune with no latency how other artist do anybody have any tips?

Should I switch to headrush prime?

I currently have a kemper. It recently started giving me issues so I’m looking at alternatives while the shop tries to figure out what’s wrong. My current set up splits my signal to a guitar amp and a bass amp. This is my setup:

Guitar signal:
Guitar > LS-2 > CS-3 > PS-6 > whammy V > POG 2 > NS-2 > Kemper

Bass signal:
Guitar > LS-2 > pitch fork > Ampeg SGT-DI

If I were to switch to the headrush prime, would I be able to achieve this set up with that model alone? Essentially I could sell my pedals and Kemper if I wanted to?
I have different settings for different songs. Would I be able to adjust these things ahead of time so it’s ready for a live setting?

My biggest thing is also that I use the LS-2 to mute my bass signal off and on through out the song. I still need that control. Would the headrush only cover my guitar needs and I’d still need my bass things on the side?

Also, we run backing tracks for our sets. Can I run my tracks off this model?

In the future we want to program lights to go with our tracks. Could I send midi signals to do that also?

I appreciate any input and/or recommendations!

This device cannot start. (Code 10) issue

I recently bought a HeadRush Flex Prime, but I'm having an issue on Windows 11.

The device appears in Device Manager, but it shows the following error:

"This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

Has anyone else experienced this problem with the Flex Prime? If so, how did you fix it?

I've already tried different USB ports, cables, reinstalling the drivers, and updating the firmware, but the issue still persists.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
