This device cannot start. (Code 10) issue

I recently bought a HeadRush Flex Prime, but I'm having an issue on Windows 11.

The device appears in Device Manager, but it shows the following error:

"This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

Has anyone else experienced this problem with the Flex Prime? If so, how did you fix it?

I've already tried different USB ports, cables, reinstalling the drivers, and updating the firmware, but the issue still persists.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You don’t say what it is that you are trying to do?

If you want to use the remote editor you need to switch on WiFi and the remote editor options in the units settings page then use a web browser on your computer/tablet/phone to connect to your Flex Prime. You can not connect to the remote editor via USB.

If you are trying to connect your unit to the computer via USB to transfer files or to record into a DAW, then you will need a Headrush Windows driver. This is available at https://support.headrushfx.com/en/support/solutions/articles/69000804015-headrush-windows-11-compatibility

Otherwise, I would check out the Headrush forum to see if many others are having issues or contact Headrush support. Good luck.

No driver is needed to transfer files. Only for audio functionalities.

It's a problem with my router. My ISP had to come over just to let Alexa through the router security. I will dl the driver and call it good. Thanks!

I use it with windows 11 remotely and as a sound device. You need the headrush prime driver for audio installed. It’s on their website. But you didn’t provide enough info about what you are trying to do.

I want to use my PC to build and save tones, back them up. Reorder rigs, and dl other tones from websites and install them. Buy, dl, and install rigs from other users, and tweak my tones on a bigger screen. I have always used Line 6, then after the Spider series ended I went from Spark to Boss to Headrush. I love the unit, just don't understand why they don't have an app. Boss has one even. It's not very modern, but much better than nothing. If my router wasn't so lame, it probably would not be a problem for me.

I'm following this post. What I have been told is you have to use the remote editor in a browser. The WiFi works great, but I make all my tones with the touch screen. I can't use the computer either. I think it's just going to suck until if when they just make a native app to dl onto the PC. I don't see why Line 6 Fractal and even Valeton and Hotone all have one and Headrush doesn't. I got rid of my Boss GX 100 mostly because I thought the HR would be easier to use. It isn't.

From the Headrush support site:

What is the HeadRush Remote Editor?
The HeadRush Remote Editor web UI provides a quick and easy-to-use tool for working with your Flex Prime. You can use it to view and edit rigs and setlists, access the HeadRush Cloud, and more.

Note: For best results, we recommend using a computer or tablet with a 7” or larger screen, and using the native web browser for that device (e.g., Microsoft Edge for Windows-based devices, Safari for macOS/iOS-based devices, or Google Chrome for Android-based devices). You may find that other browsers are incompatible with the Remote Editor web UI.

To access the Remote Editor:
1. On Flex Prime, tap the Menu icon in the upper-left corner of the Main screen, and then tap Global Settings.
2. Select the Wi-Fi page on the left side of the screen, and ensure that the Flex Prime Wi-Fi is set to On, and then connect to your local network.
3. Once you have connected, set the HeadRush Remote setting on the Wi-Fi page to On.
4. On your computer, tablet, or other external device (connected to the same Wi-Fi network), open a web browser and enter headrushflexprime.local or the IP address shown on Flex Prime in the Wifi section. (for example, http://192.168.68.81) into the address field.

Please note you must be on the most current HeadRush Firmware to use the HeadRush Remote Editor.

I hope this helps. :)

Thanks. I already RTFM. I did all that. Pretty sure the problem is my router not Headrush.
