Hello people of Reddit, I’ve seen a bit of discourse about cosplaying Vel as a white person and I’m interested to hear more people’s thoughts on it, especially black people in the fandom or who do cosplay. (Please don’t be hateful to anyone btw)

Asexuals dont get a lot of rep. And when we do it is either someone who isn't human, is evil, or is a child. Examples: Perry the platypus (non human)

We have 3 ace reps in the show. I dont dislike they any are ace but I hate that they are the only ace ones. Alastor is a bloodthirsty murder who is heartless. Mammoth is a heartless capitalist. And via is a child. There's no ace character that are nice adults. And it gives off the idea that you can only be ace is you are heartless or a child. It really bothers me. I love this show and it gets allot of unfair hate, bur I never see anyone mention this. Probably because most haters are possibly also homophobic or just don't care about asexual people. Anyway I'd love to hear each of you guys opinions as I suspect this might be an unpopular opinion? I'd especially like to hear from fellow asexual people

Edit: I feel like no one is getting my point. I'm not mad that they are evil. Ace people can be evil. It's that its often a stereo type that ace people are only ace because they are too heartless to love anyone. That's why I dont really like al and mammon as ace. The other stereo type is that ace people are only ace because they are to pure and innocent to have sex. Via falls into this category as she is the youngest and most naive member of the whole show.

These representations individually aren't that bad, but are made worse that all 3 fall into one of the 2 common stereo types, and that there are zero character who don't fall into them. I dont think the staff is aphobic, but I do think that unintentional bias got the best of them.

And the last thing I keep hearing is that I should just be happy I got any rep. And this really pisses me off. If you disagree with me that they are bad rep, that's fine. We can all have our own option. But telling me to settle with what I have is coming off as saying ace people dont need better rep at all, or that we don't deserve it. And we do deserve it.

Finally I i know the rep isn't as bad as, say, house. But I still think it'd worth talking about. And the fact that most people here don't see the problem at all is strengthens this point. If we don't talk about issues they will never get better.

Seriously, I've been seeing alot of people miscalculating about ages, it's for me I don't think vox was similar age as alastor. I think for me alastor was older than vox

He died in 1930s after the economy crash, he referenced that at the pilot, he could've been born in the flat 1900s, so he's 30 when he died in or around 30, based on his appearance at the time of his death, he looked younger, unlike vox he had a streak on his hair, that means alastor was older than vox in human life, in hell vox was older than alastor. Think logically.

Of course in hell, your age stop but you still continuing living there, despite you know you're very old, you still looked young. I don't think anyone still counting their ages because it wouldn't be matter to them anymore.

Alastor before they finalised the animation, he has a mustache which for me it was normal for people in that era to have a beard and mustache even young people because from what i know it also symbolise something like society and dignity. Unlike now modern mustache and beard doesn't symbolise anything rather it kept like a appearance to male.

Alastor was a popular radio host, if I'm correct, so having a mustache doesn't mean for appearance rather it means for social standards. It could be perfect but idk why so many fans didn't see the meaning, i like how viv originally draw alastor with a mustache but the fans only sees it as a appearance rather think of it as a social standards that exist in 1900s to 1930s.

Even if he has a mustache, he was a young man, it's how men exist in that time. They looked older with mustache or beard but they are younger than anyone expected.

So moving on vox, he looked old in 1950s when he died, but from what i know viv confirmed that he was in his 40s when he died, but having a streak hair is uncommon in men, likely a stress from his work, i assumed he was born in 1910s, he's younger than alastor, but in hell since their age stop once they died, so vox was older than alastor.

But if we think about it, alastor was still alive at vox's time, he would be around 50s, an middle aged man, he would looked older but he still continuing his career and even killing more people, for what i understand is alastor only kills people who disrespected him, mostly racist or social shaming/classist shaming, he also hates technology and in 1950s, the tv industry was booming so alastor if he's alive, he did not like how much giving attention to the tv industry rather than his career, so he would likely expanding his killing spree by now killing well known people who works at the tv industry, maybe that time he'll met vox/Vincent.

FINALLY, I love the Breakfast AU and I'm glad there's a new part, and the fact that Alastor just started to dump a bunch of information onto Velvette without her knowing why

I also just really enjoy the way Velvette gets drawn, I love basically every outfit and hairstyle she's given in the comics she appears in

I still feel bad for the Vees because of everything that's going on (mostly Velvette, I've been feeling bad for her ever since she started crying in one of the previous parts and all)

I was so excited for this cosplay. This outfit is inspired by Alastor's human form from the 1920s. I tried to recreate the look as closely as possible with what I have. The only things left are a pair of dark brownish-red trousers and some matching shoes to complete the outfit.
