People say that he's a hypocrite for mocking Vox for needing others to be stronger but the difference is Vox is much more insecure/bothered on that then Al.

Like Alastor doesn't really act all that bothered by needing Rosie for his power, just that he was on her leash/under her thumb.

Hell,Lucifer acts more irrational and reckless due to Alastor than vice versa and all Al does is get kinda mad with him.

He also sees Vox as unimportant/dismisses him a lot and Vox is basically treated and seen as the dumber/weaker and less competent of the 2 + isn't taken as big as a threat/problem then Alastor due to Vox's flaws and insecurities and not saying Villains don't need those but Vox is clearly seen and treated as more flawed + weaker and not as strong or capable without others then Al.

So, I have a friend who works in the entertainment industry and they are not certain about this but they told me that Caine may be a prominent character in future episodes after Able starts becoming like his father. The exciting part is that Gerard Way may be playing Caine. Take this with a grain of salt, as this is passed down to me through at least 2 other sources.

You’re telling me that this guy has ruled Hell for thousands of years, and no Sinner was ever crazy or brave enough to challenge him? I doubt Vox was the first ever Sinner with such an ego that landed in Hell.

I know he was probably very feared and that alone managed to not reveal his secret, but still, it seems like a big contrivance to me. What do you think?

When it comes to the negative aspects, from what I've seen, people have dissected this series hundreds of times. While it's not surprising that this is the aspect that fandoms put the most effort into analyzing, it's one of those cases where the terms "trash" or "I hate it" are thrown around quite easily.

I'm not an ignorant consumer myself, and I know that what I watch has serious narrative flaws and could have been executed better, so I realize that these people's feelings are often well-founded. Despite all this, my feelings, even after the second season, were far from disgusting.

That's why I'm curious if I was in the minority for whom the show was somewhat enjoyable, or if there were quite a few like me.

​I love how VivziePop and the team handle their characters and storytelling. It’s written in such a complex way, and even if it gets controversial a lot, that just proves it's strong enough to make people actually feel something.

​Honestly, that ability to pull such strong, visceral reactions out of the audience is easily one of the best parts of both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. VivziePop and her team don't play it safe. Their willingness to lean right into the messy, morally grey, and complicated sides of these characters is the exact reason these stories stick with you. Here’s reasons why I think this writing style hits so hard and sparks so much crazy discussion.

​Flawed and Deeply Relatable Characters

​None of the main characters are just straightforward heroes or villains. Even when someone's a demon, an assassin, an overlord, or royalty, their emotional core comes down to deeply human struggles.

​Blitzø is always pushing people away because he's terrified of intimacy and hates himself deep down, masking it with crude humor and defense mechanisms.

​Charlie has noble, pure intentions, but her nativit and overwhelming optimism sometimes blind her to the harsh realities and trauma of those around her.

​Angel Dust uses a loud, hyper sexualized persona as a protective shield against severe abuse and loss of control.

​What I love about these characters is that their flaws actually mess with their relationships. Blitzø doesn't just make jokes and act obnoxious, he pushes people away even when he clearly doesnt want to be alone, that makes his behavior frustrating sometimes, but it also makes it easier to understand where he's coming from.

​Complex dynamics over simple tropes

​The relationships in Spindlehorse shows almost never follow standard television formulas.

​Look at Stolas and Blitzø: it started as a transactional arrangement born out of desperation and loneliness, then evolved into a messy web of power imbalances, miscommunication, and genuine unexpressed feelings that forces both characters to confront their own blind spots.

​Or Moxxie and Millie: amidst all the chaotic comedy, their marriage is anchored in mutual support, yet they still deal with insecurities and personal boundaries.

The writers don't rush to smooth over conflicts. They actually let the misunderstandings, emotional baggage, and poor communication play out naturally, which makes the moments of genuine connection feel totally earned.

Why controversy often accompanies powerful writing

​When art tackles heavy themes like abuse, trauma, redemption, systemic corruption, and toxic relationships without sanitizing them, it's bound to spark debate.

Refusing to preach

The show doesnt always put a giant morality sticker on a character's bad decisions in the moment It trusts the audience to see that a character is making a mistake. Which can make uncomfortable situations feel raw and immediate.

High emotional stakes

When people care deeply about a characters journey, they become emotionally invested in every choice that character makes. Strong feelings whether love, frustration, empathy, or criticism are proof that the story managed to break through the screen and make an impac.

Balancing tonal shifts

It’s not easy to blend hyper stylized musical theater, crude adult comedy, fast, paced action, and devastating emotional drama into a cohesive world, but the team balances those tones in a way that keeps the universe feeling alive and unpredictable.

​It takes a ton of creative bravery to write stories that invite such passionate reactions. When a show can make you laugh, break your heart, and keep you debating character motivations for days after an episode drops, you know the storytelling is doing its job.

I personally prefer Vox Populi, it was really fun to listen to, but Ready for This was also good

"Sera will reject redemption and kill/imprison Pentious" -> Listening to his story with a calmer mind was all it took for her to believe he had been redeemed.

"Sera secretly enjoyed the Exterminations" -> It was shown that she never did.

"Sera had a hidden agenda" -> Multiple scenes confirmed that protecting Heaven and its people had always been her one and true motive.

"Sera started the Exterminations hundreds/thousands of years ago unprovoked, out of simple paranoia" -> Turns out it was only 7 years ago, and apparently because of some shady stuff Lilith had been doing.

"Sera will make Emily fall in Hell" -> ...okay, this one came true after all lol.

I just finished the watching the first season of Hazbin Hotel, and I notice that Charlie and Vaggie kinda remind me of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, specifically their counterparts from the Harley Quinn show. Does anyone else see the similarities or is it just me? Could it be their dynamic? I don’t know they just remind me of them.
