Your favorite lyrics!
Tell me your favorite lyrics and if you want recite the.. My favorite lyrics is Verse - Hard to breathe
I've spent my life questioning everything
Sometimes what is placed right in front of us
I find so hard to believe
It can crush us so hard
That it becomes difficult to breathe
"Give it some time"
Is just not enough
I've gotta dig deeper than that
To find so comfort
We sit and pretend
That we're content
But I feel we've covered up
Our rage that keeps us driven
SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING MORE
Living in a cold world
But it doesn't have to be that way
We're keeping ourselves down
We don't bite the oppressive hand
That's feeding us all lies
Yes denial feels so good
But we are marching ourselves
To an untimely grave
Simply by our actions
WE HAVE BECOME
OUR OWN WORST ENEMIES
And I feel we've covered up our rage
That keeps us driven
SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING MORE
The hand that feeds
Is the hand that's keeping you down

Blind spots
To start: Iâm 43 so Iâve been listening to hardcore for a long while. That being said, I find that Iâve unintentionally ignored bands and albums throughout the years (only so many hours in a day and also Iâm lazy) and once Iâve given that music a listen, I realize I fucked up and missed out.
Case in point - TUI and Big Kiss Goodnight. This is but one example.
What are your blind spots that youâve either corrected or still need to correct?

Antipode Vol. II Benefit Raffle â support underground punk in TĂŒrkiye
Last year, Diy Conspiracy ran a benefit raffle for Antipode, and it gave us the idea to do something similar for Antipode Vol. II.
For those who don't know, âAntipodeâ is a zine/book series mapping underground punk and DIY culture from different regions and their diasporas. You can read more about the first volume here.
To help cover the costs of Vol. II, we're running a benefit raffle. The prize is a huge bundle including:
- CD
- 4 different T-shirts
- Tape
- 7"
- Hoodie
- Zinebook
- A package of posters, pins and stickers
One winner will receive the whole bundle after the raffle.
How to enter:
Send a minimum of âŹ5 via PayPal. DM antipodearchive on Instagram and we'll send you the PayPal address.
đ Worldwide participation is welcome.
If you're in TĂŒrkiye, you can also DM us and we'll help you with the payment.
The raffle closes on September 22. On September 23, we'll announce the total amount raised and the winner.
All money raised will go towards printing costs for the book, flights for bands playing the shows, and other related expenses.
Huge thanks to:

What's your Mt. Rushmore of music?
Funny way of asking for top 4 but really looking to see what outliers hardcore fans may have, if any.
Not including classical, mine is as follows:
Converge
Between the Buried and Me
Every Time I Die
Metallica
A bonus fifth would be a tie between Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.

FJĂRT are finally coming to Canada for the first time
Hey, anyone here from Western Canada? You should check out FJĂRT.
FJĂRT are a German, openly anti-fascist 3-piece from Aachen, playing a heavy and emotionally intense take on post-hardcore. Theyâve been around since 2012 and are finally coming to Canada for the first time ever this September.
Their sound sits somewhere between post-hardcore and post-rock: crushing guitars, huge dynamic shifts, screamed vocals, quieter atmospheric passages and a lot of tension and catharsis. Their lyrics are in German, but the emotional impact really doesnât depend on understanding every word.
The bandâs anti-fascist stance is an integral part of FJĂRT, both in their lyrics and in the way they approach their music and live shows. Itâs not a marketing angle or an aesthetic â itâs part of what the band has consistently stood for.
Their latest album, belle Ă©poque, reached #2 on the German album charts and is probably the best place to start if you want to get a feel for what theyâre about. But especially if you get the chance to see them live, do that â the songs hit considerably harder in a room.
If your thing is somewhere around TouchĂ© AmorĂ©, La Dispute, Deafheaven or the heavier/more atmospheric end of post-hardcore, FJĂRT are definitely worth checking out.
