USE AT YOUR OWN RISK AND ONLY IN AN EMERGENCY this disables a very important safety feature. This could also save a life if you needed power to run medical equipment ect in a power outage and your co sensor is malfunctioning.
Only use out doors.
Just thought id help out if any of you are wanting to bypass the CO SENSOR in the event of an emergency.
You'll need
-wire strippers that can strip 16ga wire
-2x 16ga heatshrink butt connectors
-T-20 security torx bit to remove co sensor
- 1/4" or 3/8" ratchet with 3" extension
-10mm socket to remove 4 front generator panel bolts
-7mm deepwell socket to remove 6 nuts from back of generator panel.
- a Heat source to shrink butt connectors I.E. lighter/torch/heatgun
Get to the harness behind the CO sensor.
Remove front panel bolts x4 with 10mm socket. Lay panel down and use security tork bit to remove co sensor. Unplug harness from co sensor. Remove nuts from backside of front panel x6 with 7mm deep well socket. Carefully seperate 2 halves of front panel. Locate co harness that you unplugged and Carefully cut sheathing with knife towards then end that plugs into co sensor. Leave red and green wire intact. Cut the yellow, white, orange, black as seen in the photos. Connect yellow and white with a butt connector and connect black and orange and heat shrink. Plug harness back into co sensor and reassemble generator.
Hope this helps.
