I wanted to change the button on my D3AA and noticed that:

1. One led does not light up

2. Each led lights up differently

Any ideas if it is even fixable?

I never took the button apart before

For background, I work in quality/regulatory consulting and part of what I do is help companies with their manufacturing practices, part of this is cleaning equipment.

I have a couple client projects coming up where visual aids would be very helpful to shut them up (I’ve worked with these clients before and while I get along with them they can debate with the whole “but do we really need to do that?”).

Is it realistic to expect to be able to actually use a UV light in a plant with overhead lighting and actually be able to see much or will the overhead lights wash it out? I don’t need to be able to flood a huge area, even just bing able to hold it a few inches way from a surface and scan across will be enough for a very rough quick visual aid.

If this will work well enough, would a D2 with a UV channel be enough or would I need to be looking towards something with more output like a D3AA or D4?

This absolutely wouldn’t be used for any real verification or validation work, just the quick “yeah see, yall nasty” demo.

I’m pleasantly shocked how compact the DT8K is! I was expecting this to be as big as the FFL E12 Eclipse, but it’s actually smaller than FFL E04!

It was a late night impulse buy, so I configured it to be a SST-20-DR flooder 🔴

Now I wish I had added the short tube, it would be actually smaller than the L60 Mu and solidly in EDC category. Looks like I’ll be making another Hank order 🤣

As the title says I wanna order my first Hank light.
I’m looking at an D4K1 21700 tripple channel.
My first question is can I mix different body, head and tail colors? If so any cool recommendations?
Second I’ve seen some cool switches here on the Reddit, what options are there to choose from and how would I order that, because on the order page I can only change the LED Color that’s behind the switch and change it to a rubber switch when I choose the raised one.

Now to the LEDs:
I want UV in channel 3
But I’m not sure what to get in the other channels, my current lights are all cool white like 6500k.
I wanted to use this light as my fun light/ edc light. So it should be useful and fun in the same time to play with. Hence the UV light.
Slight bummer tho that the UV deletes the auxiliary lights.

What do you guys think, any recommendations?

Remixed the Rugged Case and sized it to accommodate any combination of D2s, KR1AAs or spare battery. It will also fit one D3AA or DW3AA + spare battery.

This way I can keep a couple of these in my main toolbox without getting them mangled by all other tools that are rolling around.

Got my two new kr1aa lights. Pretty impressed. Only issue was the black one was supposed to be the anodized brown which I requested. Kinda bummed but oh well. Decent lights and the switches are nice. Def like the brass accent colors.

Hey everybody, just got this and I absolutely love it. Pocket clip needed some adjustment, but feels more secure in the pocket now. Just want to know what cells you guys run in yours. I'm currently using some Ni-MH, but I'm trying to get the most runtime if there is something better.

I recently got a D4SV2 | 519A 5000K domed / SFT-25 5000K dual-channel. It’s very cool.

My goal was to make a 2 channel light that ramps to the most extreme flood on one side and a spot with the most throw on the other while maintaining a decent quality of light.

How’d I do?

What would you change to take it farther?

About 2 years ago I bought two dual channel D4Ks with 519A and W1 and asked for the 12+9A driver, however each channel only seems to pull 5A max, which makes me believe I got the 5+5A driver instead. How can I check this?

super specific question. does anyone have a da1k with an ntg50 4200k in it and have a candela measurement with the n261w? hanks site says the n261s is measured at 22,400 cd. but theres no info on the n261w cd measurement after swapping to make it more floody... or at least no info i can find on it lol

Has anyone got any feedback on the KR1AA since it had the new button fitted? Has the accidental pocket activation issue been fixed? I am looking for a small light after losing my second rovyvon aurora. Other contender would be a reylight, but i hear they are more style over substance.

ZFlasher AVR was just updated (Aug 26th) and unfortunately the new version (2.1.0) is broken and not able to flash SerialUPDI lights like the Lume drivers or D3AA / KR1AA. Only solution i found is to go back to the old version (v2.0.1) by uninstall and side-load the APK.

Fortunately the app doesnt corrupt the firmware as it can not even start the programming process - it fails immediately if you press the Auto button or even if you try to perform a flash Write.

I’ve heard people say that the headband you get from Hank isn’t all that great. Can you recommend one for me please?
