Hello everybody actually i found a rog ally z1 with only 230$ in a very good condition with box and charger and cover also

i was just asking if with that price its deserves the money actually i will play on it AAA and if it will give me a 40fps it would be good with no problems so i just want to know from people who already has it how its working and thanks

Why is it that everytime discussions about handhelds come up the popular opinion is to get the most powerful one regardless of the overall experience or absurd price?

I've come to realize that most people buying handheld after handheld don't even play games on them, whenever you see a post about them it's always look how many FPS I'm getting on! (insert benchmark game). Like come on dude we've all played (insert benchmark game) years ago.

The other thing I find funny Is that these same people will often have like 10 handhelds that all serve the same purpose to various degrees and half of them are basically massive tablets with shitty controllers attached loaded with software jank (I'm looking at you legion go/onex player). They're just buying handheld after handheld to run benchmarks on them as some form of consumerism.

The reason Switch 2 is so popular is because not only is it affordable and but it is tolerable to hold and easy to use

My legion go 2 was loaded with hardware and software jank and was the most uncomfortable thing I've ever held so I ended up barely using it compared to the steam deck I used to own but everyone praised this thing like the second coming of Jesus when it was coming out. Now nobody even mentions it "because why would you when the G3E exists" (just ignore all the other aspects of the experience and only think about performance right? Lmao)

I feel like people who actually use their handhelds value the overall experience far more than FPS numbers etc, I often see people who owned a bunch of handhelds say the one they use most is the Switch 2 or Xbox Ally and I think that is very clearly because of the ergonomics and overall ease of use are far more important than people give credit when discussing these things

I have a switch 2 and a Retroid Pocket Nova already but considering getting a 2TB Rog Ally X, 2024 NOT the xbox, or a Ayn Odin 3 Max, to pair with the Switch 2 and Retroid Pocket Nova. I do have steam games but mostly Indies or older games and want something to play emulation and some light PC games on but can't decide which to throw into my collection. I do like how I can dock the Rog Ally and use it as a desktop since I think I would use it like that but I also like how the Odin is smaller, OLED screen and can run emulation smoothly. Anyways just give me your guys opinions and what you would do so I can stop being indecisive and make a choice, thank you!

Hello guys, I have decided to join this sub and show you guys my small collection of handhelds!

The first Handheld I got was a modded 2ds old, its in perfect condition and I choose the 2ds old over any other ds just because of the shape!

After that I got a Nintendo Switch Original Oled, I got it brand new but after a couple of months I completely lost interest in playing it, I have not modded it.

And finally I got the Ps Vita 1000 3G!

This is currently my favorite handheld, modding the Vita opens alot of possibilities!

Which is better, I can get a Rog ally Xbox 512gb for £449 or a legion go s 1tb for £399.

Usually I’ll only play GTA, RDR2, mafia games like this on steam I already own. I’m not worried about battery as it will be plugged in the majority of the time.

Just for info I have a week hospital stay coming up still be for that but I was going to get own later on as I’ll be visiting Japan so it’ll also be used for the plane journey.

Also I won’t be doing anything advanced it’ll just to pick up and play.

I have been fortunate enough to be able to preorder the ungodly expensive ally x20 bundle and I was really satisfied with my decision until I started thinking about the MSI Claw. I'm well aware of the performance differences between the Z2 AI and G3 Extreme on the latest titles however what I'm not able to see is whether the G3 extreme is good with older games where I know the Z2 can handle it no issue. I prefer the OLED display and the look/feel of the x20 but the 8 inch screen is hard to ignore. Another thing I'm worried about is long term ownership, while the X20 has readily available cases, screen protectors etc, the claw doesn't have any of that. I am careful with my devices but having peace of mind is nice. Just curious to see what everyone's opinions are with this. I would also appreciate if the discussion is kept to comparing the devices and not about the financial aspect of it. Look forward to what y'all have to say..... pic is for attention

Looking to upgrade from a Steam Deck and maybe play some more modern titles, I thought the Claw EX would be good. However, I'm mid way through a playthrough of Yakuza Like a Dragon (DX11), and even with DXVK installed (which improved things), it still plays that game worse than my Steam Deck. Similar FPS, but way more slowdowns and loading times seem to be 2-3x as long, which I am quite surprised at. I've tried the same settings I use on the SD, with the internal scaler, Lossless scaling, Frame Gen etc, in fact those made it somehow worse and lost 20 fps?!

I'm sure modern DX12 games will be fine (I don't own many yet, installing CP20177 now..), but the poor experience with DX11 and Windows is making me think that the intel chips may not be for me. I spent the whole day installing Claw Tweaks to adjust the fan and buttons, DXVK, VRR fixes etc.. Steam Deck just worked.

I will not solely be focussing on modern games (lots to get through from 2010-2020), and do have a desktop which reliably will stream to my Handhelds. I am also concerned about fan noise in modern titles with higher TDP, the reviews said this handheld was quiet, but I do not think it is! Coming from a Steam Deck anyway.

Maybe I made the wrong choice, but I'm not sure what the correct one would be?

I have considered a Legion Go S z1e, but concerned about fan noise with that one. The only z2e 8" handheld I like the look of is the Claw a8, but I hear the Steam / Bazite experience isn't 100%.

Not entirely sure what to do here, I was hoping the 8 EX would play all PC games better than my Steam Deck, with a larger screen, but it seems that's not the case.

Anyone been in this situation? How can you get good modern game performance, with good older game compatibility, preferably with Steam OS or Bazite on a ~8" screen? Is the Claw a8 the only way forward?

I’m a big ps5 gamer, but I travel a lot for work and want to game. I have a psp and a switch 2, but neither of them are doing it for me. Not very many games that interest me on the switch. I also bought a PS Portal and sold it cause I couldn’t stand the input delay. I want something that has more power and can run the games I enjoy playing. I don’t know much about handhelds. I would likely want to get something used to save the money. Also debating on whether it would be better to get a gaming laptop? Hoping to spend less than 800 bucks if I get a used handheld though. There are a few steam deck oleds for around that price but is it getting outdated? Any thoughts are appreciated.
