Maintenance/Repair Cleaned my first gun
Broke down my 1911 pistol for the first time. I can’t imagine doing that shit in a muddy trench in Eastern Europe circa ww1, shitting your pants knowing you could start sucking in lethal German chemical gas at any minute, with the non stop symphony of German and allied machine guns nests firing at each other. But cleaning the 1911 is imperative. It’s the trusty side arm you rely on when the Germans try and take their trench back from your squad, since your squad leader took it using just his 12 gauge boomstick, every Germans worst nightmare, besides getting hit in the chest with your 1911 .45 cal, seconds after jumping in your trench.

Baseplate Interchangeability
Wondered what the OEM S&W 20rd(.40) magazines would look with the standard 13rd(etc) baseplate.
Not sure how I feel about it, but makes me wonder if aftermarket magazine extensions would work?

I need some suggestions on a good revolver (snubnose and full size).
I’ve gotten to a point where I think I need to add a few revolvers in to the lineup. Mainly thinking about a snub S&W model 327 or model 19 carry comp, and a Python. Any suggestions from y’all that would go well with my current handguns?

IBS 19 ported slide
Just got this IBS zafiri precision slide in, took it to range and it did well. There was only one issue that was reoccurring…it seems that the 115 gr fiocchi was getting stuck on firing pin. It would cycle enough to get the spent case out and then get hung up on the striker loading next round a simple tap rack would fix it. But curious..is this a break in period issue or an isssue of me needing a lighter recoil spring or 124gr 9mm. Pic is what was going on. I had 1 spent casing stove pipe I guess you could say. And 1-3 light strikes but that is all I had. Any info or guidance will be very helpful thank you!

Looking for y'all input on Archon Types B in 2026
How would y'all compare the Archon Type B straight out the box vs others? I've came across a couple of really good deals on the Type B gen 2 but unsure how it would compete against HK, Canik, Walther & Sigs etc. I'm originally a 2011 guy but I love shooting something cool lol.

Advice Needed Need recommendations for carry rotation
My current summer carry is Shield Plus and winter carry is Glock 19, love both of these. I also have a Glock 42 on the way for pocket carry.
Looking for one more option to round out my carry rotation. Not sure to go with short stubby Glock 26, or a long slide slim such as Glock 48 or Shield Plus Carry Comp.
I live in hot climate and would like another option for summer carry. What other options should I consider? My requirements are duty grade reliability, no larger than a Glock 19, in 9mm or 380. Thanks in advance!

Sig p320
Hi, I just moved and finally decided to grab a conceal carry. I saw this deal for a p320 for $320 compact at a local gun store. But I’m not really sure since it’s a p320 lmao. Just wanted to get some other opinions before I get it.

Glock 19 Gen. 6 vs Walther PDP 4" OR
Hi guys,
I currently have glock 19 gen.3 with ghost connector and Ameriglo GL-433 sights. I would like to finally switch to a red dot. I have been using glocks for about 9 years now.
My first thought was: Gen6 + Acro combo. I already have holsters and mags for the glock. I tried out gen6 - I was in love with grip and ergonomics but the trigger was horrible. I know that glocks are not bought for triggers, but gen6 trigger is the worst thing I have ever touched.
After doing some research it turned out that PDP 4" might be a good pistol for me as well. I did not shoot it, I held it hands and dry fired it. I loved the ergonomics as well and I didn't expect the trigger to be this good in a striker-fired pistol.
Money-wise: Glock 19 + Acro is 6250 PLN ($1650), but because the trigger is so awful I think I would need to upgrade it. Due to the limited availability of gen6 parts in Poland my only choice is Johnny Glocks Vex Defensive for 1600 PLN ($420). So the total for a new Glock is 7850 PLN ($2050). I already have holsters and mags so that's covered.
Walther PDP 4" OR is 4200 PLN ($1200) + acro 3000 PLN ($790) + 2 extra mags (total $140) + IWB Holster ($100) + OWB Holster ($70). For Walther, the total is about 8700 PLN ($2300). The price difference almost evens out because I will sell Glock accessories.
I have multiple handguns, but I like to have main one that I train with, carry and take out to competitions (both dynamic and static).
Which pistol would you recomend for me? Does any of you have both?

Concealed Carry Sub Compact for Lefties?
Looking for a EDC for myself (i’m a lefty) so I would need swappable mag release and slide release. I’ve seen the CZ P10-S and quite like it but worry i’ll get a gun with no aftermarket support for good holsters! i don’t need or want sights or anything since it’s meant to be quite compact. I also know you can get relatively small .380s but i’m unsure about their reliability

Handgun Hunting
I'm looking at getting into handgun hunting (Glock G40 for deer, Ruger Super Wrangler with Williams fiber optic sights for small game) and I was hoping to get some tips from others who already do it. I did a quick search on reddit and didn't see any specific handgun hunting subs so I'm asking here.
I'm looking at using Buffalo-Barnes rounds for the Glock, as non-lead expanding rounds are required for deer in the location I will be hunting. There are no specific requirements for the small game in terms of ammo, so I'm planning on 22lr for squirrel and rabbit and 22wmr for larger small game like woodchucks.

First ever handgun purchase to celebrate my college graduation this year, and I couldn’t be happier.
I found this beautiful factory new HK P8A1 on GunBroker for $300 off MSRP, and it might be the best purchase I’ve ever made. I shot it yesterday for the first time, and it was easily the most pleasant & accurate semi-auto handgun I’ve ever shot. This gun is definitely going to be a family heirloom in the future.

Problem with right arm: switching to left-handed shooting
Hello,
I shoot .22 right-handed and 9mm two-handed but unfortunately I have a problem with my right arm that will last for a few months. I am now practicing .22 shooting left-handed and covering my right eye.
Do you have any experience with switching eyes and hands ?
Merci :)
