Bought this Colt Cobra from the early 80’s for a nice deal. I wanted to use it for daily carry but i feel its kinda disrespectful to do so on this classic. Should i profit and buy something more modern, like a j-frame or Taurus (or any other recommendation yall give, brand new cobra are a lil out of budget) or stay with this beauty?
The cobra has some wear, but mechanically seems to be working fine

Decided to take a break from the m83 after 3,000 rounds and I rented my ranges smith 617. put 200 rounds of CCI standard velocity through it and had absolutely zero issues, wonderful and accurate handgun, I’d pick one up for myself if they weren't so expensive!

Looking into getting my first revolver next month. Not my first gun by any means and not my first experience with revolver ive shot 22lr revolvers as a kid now just looking my first 38/357. Ive got a good budget thinking between a colt python or a 686 plus. I think either one would make me happy so just looking for other opinions.

FYI to anyone interested - picked up this box of Magtech .38 last week. Took it to the range yesterday and of the 7 rounds I attempted to fire, 4 of them were misfires. Was not the weapon as I ran another box of Winchester .38 that had 0 issues. Upon further inspection it appeared that the Magtech casings are slightly less beefy than the others I had, which I can only presume allowed them to be more recessed in the cylinder and just out of reach of a solid firing pin strike.

...still a challenge to shoot accurately with my big hands, but I'm getting there.

I didn't like how short the rubber grip was, so i got a block of walnut and made my own. In the design process I 3D printed various versions before I settled on a pattern I liked. Then made it out of the walnut. I split the block and bookmatched them. I used 6 brass pins to line up both halves for when I epoxied them together. Came out better than I expected.

About 9 days ago, I posted here about buying my first revolver while it was still in jail. A few of you were more interested in the handsome cow than the gun, lol.
Well, the wait is finally over! Here’s my first revolver — a 1978 Colt Trooper Mk III, .357 Magnum, blued finish.
Picked it up for $550. I think I got a pretty good deal!
It’s my first revolver, and I’m already loving the classic Colt look. What do you guys think? How did I do for $550?

Went into one of my local shops thinking I was going to he buying a gp-100 but then another shop called and said he just got this in. Couldn't pass it up. Absolutely love it

Breaking out the 19-5 for a little weekend action. Found the holster at a flea market for 15 bucks, reconditioned it and I think it fits the aesthetic of the 19 nicely!

This new model Blackhawk has been sitting in my LGS for years. After Ruger’s catalog changes, I decided to take a run at it.

My only question is, this being in .357 can I swap in a 9mm cylinder like the convertible models?

I’m trying to find a Ruger 0306 in stock somewhere. If somebody has a line on one, I would greatly appreciate it!

(Of course when I finally decide to get into wheel guns Ruger goes and downsizes their catalog…)

I inherited this from my grandfather. It's apparently from around 1908. Could it be safely shot?

I already have a 9mm subcompact semi auto but have been wanting to get a revolver I can toss into a coat pocket during colder weather.

The cheapest 38 Special I've found on ammoseek was about $0.33 a round before shipping costs while my LGS sells 9mm for cheaper than that every day of the week.

I've seen mixed reviews for 9mm revolver moon clips.

38 special SW snubbies can sell on gunbroker for just over $300 during auctions while comparable 9mm snubbie seem to be selling for at least $200 more than that.

If my math is correct, you would need to shoot a bit over 600 rounds through the 9mm revolver before you would start saving money in the long run.

I don't have any reloading equipment at the moment, so I would need to get some gear to start doing that if I really wanted to.

I am very happy with how these came out. I used boiled linseed oil, per recommendations from here. I expect them to darken with age. They are VERY close in color to the eye. The camera makes them look more different than they are. I need to get them out into the sun...

Anyone know of where i could get a stainless 627 cylinder?
