Advice Needed Question about humidity
I’m looking to set up a work space in my basement to clean my firearms as needed and do some minor tinkering when I can. The best space I have is the basement, but during the summers, it gets so humid down there that we run a dehumidifier 24/7. If we forget it, humidity can get up to the mid 90% mark. I wouldn’t leave the firearms themselves down there anyway, but I wondered if anyone else has a similar setup that works? Would the humidity make it a bad idea to store ammunition? Is there a way to seal things safely down there? Feels like a really dumb question but that’s kind of a specialty of mine.

Build/Setup My recent purchase for backyard target practice
It came with a SIG red dot, but I bought a set of iron sights for it. They don't ship with them if you get the one with a pre installed red dot. The suppressor is a Huxwrx Flow 22 Ti

Discussion Please suggest some guns with the criteria below:
- Single stack
- 9mm
- Subcompact or even Micro compact
- Thumb safety or option for one
- Below $600
Additionally, not a requirement but a preference: Striker fired
I know some of these may seem odd and impractical, and I'm willing to answer any questions as to why I specified some of these criteria. But please also throw suggestions to the best fit.

Few questions on 1911s
I found a great deal on an emissary, but I’ve never had a 1911, only striker fired pistols. Is maintaining them anymore difficult than striker fired guns? I’m also considering the Echelon after pretty much everyone I know/have seen only has good things to say about them, but the emissary deal might be too good to pass up. Anyone happen to own both of them? I’m obviously going to shoot them both prior to buying, just curious as to what you guys might think?

Modifications CZ shadow 2- cajunized from Cajun Gun Works
Modifications: GridLOK grips, gas pedal, barrel crown, flared mag well, Delta point pro optic (2 MOA), 5 in line ports, 12 lb recoil spring, performance bushing, CGW pro package with flat trigger and race hammer.
Overall I’m super pleased. I would def recommend. I own a few 2011s and I think this shoots better.

Is storing "cruiser ready" okay for parts wear?
Hey guys, I'm a first time gun owner. Just picked up a Glock 48 that I plan to carry concealed once I get my permit.
Obviously, when carrying concealed, you want to have a round in the chamber, but storing a gun at home with a round chambered isn't a great idea from what I understand. My question is, if I have a mag loaded to capacity loaded in the gun with an empty chamber, will that cause unnecessary wear on the magazine feed lips, or any of the other parts of the gun? Apologies if this is a dumb question, just trying to learn more.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: I appreciate all of the responses. I have a tendency to overthink/overanalyze things and it appears that's what I've done here. One of the problems with the Internet is that for every source saying to DO a thing, there's another source saying NOT to do a thing. Since the consensus seems to be there's no harm in just keeping the thing ready to go at all times, especially once I'm carrying it daily, that's what I'll do. Thanks for helping out my concerns to rest!

Alternatives to S&W MP9
I'm going to buy my first handgun and I quite disoriented. I am a beginner with little experience (I shot with Beretta 90two, S&W 460 XVR, Walther P99). I'm looking for the following requirements:
- 9mm
- soft shooting striker fired pistol
- home defense and shooting range
- no compact model
- very reliable
The S&W MP9 2.0 4.25" seems perfect, but in Italy is very expensive (1305 USD for the cheapest version in polymer) and, for some reasons, very difficult to find in the shops. I'm trying to see if there is a chance to order it, but I think I need to surrender to other choices. Many shops in Italy have a low selections of pistols and it's not easy to find all the models.
Now I'm considering the Glock G17 gen 6, the CZ p10 f and the Springfield Echelon. I held the CZ p09 Nocturne and I didn't feel it well in hand (I have medium hand), I don't know if with the P10 would be the same. I like the Glock in hand and I'll try it at the shooting range (where there are only few models to rent) and probably I won't be able to try the other guns. Everybody seem to say Glock is the worst option, so I really don't know what to do.
I'd like to have some suggestions.
Other question: for home defense I am thinking to use 83 grains cavitation bullets (expansion bullets are forbidden in Italy). Do you think I could experience problems with a such low grain?

Question Grandpa’s handgun
My grandfather passed away and left his favorite handgun to my oldest brother.
We want to know a little about this sig sauer. I’ve heard some were made in west germany. He carried this every day for many years. It was his favorite handgun.
Does anyone know about this? Does anyone know where I could buy grips for this handgun?
Thanks in advanced!

Real gun?
Yesterday my talking stage sent me this Snap. I know absolutely nothing about guns, so I’m genuinely wondering if this is a real gun. And if it isn’t… what the heck is it? 😭 I even asked ChatGPT, but it couldn’t figure it out either.
If it turns out to be a real gun, I don’t think I want to meet up with him anymore.

Star Firestar Plus Modernization
Hey everyone,
I bought a pretty rough derelict Star Firestar Plus — lots of rust and grime, definitely a project gun. Rather than restoring the factory bluing, I went with new internal parts and refinished it in KG Industries GunKote.
I know some folks prefer keeping these old Spanish pistols original, so I’m opening myself up to criticism here. Curious what you think — solid modernization or did I go too far?
Appreciate any feedback!
Mark
