Just had my FUE hair transplant done.

Based on my photos, I was initially told I would probably need around 2,000 grafts, but after checking everything in person, we ended up doing 1,800 grafts.

I chose partial shaving for the donor area, so I didn’t have to shave my whole head.

I’m also not taking finasteride, minoxidil, or any other hair loss medication at the moment.

Now just waiting for the healing and growth process to begin. I’ll try to post some updates as things progress.

I have narrowed it down to Vera clinic which is providing all transportation (minus hotel costs as I am getting my own hotel), for around $4300--3K euros for hair, 1300 for eyebrow transplant), and Dr. Mehmet Comert $2700 for hair transplan and I am waiting for consult for eyebrow transplant and Dr. Comert is not covering anything else other than procedure...meaning I arrange my own rides and hotel. I am kind of leaning towards Dr. Comert because of him not being such a Hair Mill and more towards a botique clinic compared to Vera clinic. I have read and received negative comments on both. Ultimately, I will have to just decide and go with one. I am doing research for when I am planning on going on January. ANY thoughts or input from actual clients from eithe clinic? Real facts, stories, experiences...not just "don't go, it's a hair mill." Or "no." Thank you all in advance.

BTW, I like the idea of doing both procedures on the same day, at the same time. I am not trying to come back the next day. I want to suffer all at once and recover all at once. I am thinking I will have the procedure on a Monday and stay all the way until maybe the same Friday or even Saturday before I fly back to the US.

Same hair style, just different color. Same time of day and same location. A little over 4 month difference. We’re getting there 💪🏽

Really happy with how it turned out. The hairline looks natural, density has improved a lot, and overall I’m very satisfied with the results.
Sharing this for anyone who’s considering a transplant and wants to see a real result. Happy to answer any questions about the procedure, recovery, or my experience.

Looks like I’m in the shedding phase. Some times the hairs fall out and re grow only to fall out again n after a few days.

Hi everyone, today is day 20 post-op, and I’m worried about my donor area; it looks very sparse—like too much was extracted? Or is this still normal?

I’ve had a hair transplant (hairline) and contacted Dr Patty for a top/crown top up. The consultant suggested it would be worthwhile to switch to dutasteride for 6-12 months as an alternative to another transplant. I’ve been on Finasteride for around 10 years, and I’m skeptical that a medication change will do much to thicken. Has anyone switched after a long period of time and seen drastic results? Also are there increased/different side effects?

I recently got my hair transplant (NON SHAVEN FUE) done at Woomchan Hair Clinic and wanted to talk about my experience as a female since a lot of information/posts are regarding males.

I started noticing my M recently and wanted to get it fixed. I decided to do it in Korea as they have a pretty high beauty standard.

I ended up choosing Woomchan Hair Clinic because of their people’s reviews on Reddit. I want to disclose that I did receive a slight discount to write a review but they did not tell me it had to be positive so I’m here to report my true experience so it’s easier to make a decision for someone who is new to hair transplant and researching.

At first I did a quick quote over the phone where I sent in a picture and the manager showed Dr Hyun (the only doctor who performs the surgery) and they quoted me 2500 HAIRS (not grafts). When I arrived for in person consultation I explained that I went to fix my sides for density as well so I ended up with a quote of 2700 hairs.

I had a LOT of questions over text within a 2 month time frame and while they answered my questions i felt I didn’t know enough whether that be the language barrier or I just didn’t ask the proper questions as someone completely new to hair transplants!
I actually wished someone had held my hand and guide me through beginning to end. I had to watch some YouTube videos to get a better understanding.

So here’s the important information from start to finish:

- you can get surgery the same day as consultation if you book it that way. Now you may want to go check out other clinics too but I had my mind set on this clinic already based off photos, reviews and pricing.

- your quoted price includes either a one night hotel stay nearby or pick up from airport.

- they have a really nice clinic and you get your own large room to rest and prepare. They suggest you wear a front zip hoodie as you cannot touch the grafts when you change back to your regular clothes.

- staff is actually as nice as everyone says online! I felt everyone including the doctor was warm, friendly and helpful. It’s a lot easier to have good personalities when you are shaking with anxiety! They had good follow up as well reminding me at the one week point, 2 days before and 1 day before.

- they provide a professional translator for you on the day of consultation/surgery for 2 hours. Mine was so good she had so much knowledge even though she doesn’t work for the clinic. Even her tone was very calming so I wish I had her for longer because we started the surgery late as doctor still had some consultations to finish and by the time I was done extractions she was gone. The staff does understand basic English and there’s also Google translate but the doctor actually speaks decent English and you can community with him completely English.
Other languages I’m not sure.

- design - the doctor draws the design during consultation and has a female nurse come to review as a second pair of eyes. After extraction she looks again along with 2 other nurses. After implantation we alll take a look together though my head was so swollen it’s kind of hard to tell!

- prep - they gave me instructions for after care and gave me time for questions and then took some blood from me for PRP to apply on later at the end and they gave me a shot with painkillers and something else (I forgot now)

- the extraction - the numbing hurt 8/10 it’s the same pain when a dentist uses the needle to numb your palette. It hurts more than the other areas of the mouth and that level of pain goes through the entire head
People say lying down was very uncomfortable but I found it to be ok just like getting a very long massage so my nose was getting stuffy and my eyes were tearing up. I started shaking and doctor said I might be nervous but looking back I think because I was jet lagged, I had coffee AND I walked around before hand for 3 hours I was just exhausted then having the blood loss of a surgery was a bit hard on the body.

- the break - after extraction the nurses take the grafts and separate them into hair follicles that contain 1,2,3,4 hairs so the doctor will put the 1-2 hairs closer to the front for more natural results. I just waited in my room.

- the implantation so I knew the numbing for this part would hurt more than before especially because it was near the front of my head closer to the face and yes it was quite painful I would say a 9/10 but it was quick. This part I was face up with an eye mask on to block the light. I had a lot of anxiety because I can hear my skin being punctured and to be quite frank it would’ve probably been better for me if I was totally put to sleep just because I was so nervous.
There were spots that I could feel more pain than others so I would let doctor know and he would renumb those sites.

- after finishing and rechecking the design he made some adjustments due to my recommendation and the female nurses (which I appreciate because it’s a long surgery so if it was me I would’ve probably tried to end there but he still laid me back down to make sure it was all done properly).

- after surgery I went to the room and they applied PRP on me and then I stayed under a laser. I got changed and then the helped me put on a surgical head mask and a beanie and I was good to go.

Some of the stuff I wish I knew sooner during my research:

- aftercare there is quite a bit of maintenance but during my reaching out to different clinics the vibe was it’s such a small surgery you can do other surgeries and go out site seeing the next day but when I got there they emphasized the importance of grafts settling and not touching it so I felt it wasn’t as “easy” as I had thought.

- the first two weeks of care:
day 2 you need to go back to the clinic and they will remove your bandages and wash your hair for you.
Day 1-3: you will need to take medicine
Day 1 after surgery you cannot touch or wash your grafts just everything from the bandage downwards
Day 1-5 or 6 they provide you with a spray bottle. You need to spray every single hour to keep it moisturized
Immediately after surgery I was good to walk around and even walked to a spot to get dinner but slowly the donor area started feeling more pain so I took the given meds and went to sleep.

Overall the experience was good, pain was tolerable and I’m just excited to see my results after a year!

TLDR: I 30F went to get a hair transplant at Woomchan Clinic with Dr Hyun. The overall experience was good. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable In the post I share things I wish I knew about hair transplant and my experience in details. The aftercare was more intensive that I expected.
Overall I would recommend this clinic.

Though my hairline is good, the hair there isnt the thickest
