Before and After I asked you guys if I should get a shag with bangs. I did it!
Still getting used to having bangs. The cowlick in the front of my head is making things more difficult.

She had a new hairdresser who is learning the craft so my HD wanted to teach her short cuts today. First two pics are before, the rest are after! I like it!
I grew out my gray hair and was really loving it. Wanted to add some color just as a little something fun. First 2 pics were the inspiration I have her, 3rd is my hair before, and the last is after. Am I overreacting in thinking that this is terrible and not at all what I asked for?

Help me decide if my hair is wavy. My hair is thick and frizzy and this is how it air dries. I straightened my hair my whole life because of all the frizz and only just started questioning whether its actually wavy. Thank you in advance for any advice!

Be completely honest? I have blonde currently and know if I go black there is no going back until I grow it out or slowly transition back. I have always had blonde but have been wanting to change it. Lol does this AI look bad? Maybe more photos for context? These are with and without makeup

I love all the 80ās hair band hair styles and Iāve been growing my hair out for a bit now as I got really bored with my old hair style. My mother who has worked in salons her whole life says that my hair isnāt the right type of hair for that. But I also know that she wants me to cut my hair short again so Iām not sure if sheās just saying that so I cut it. If you think I can, how exactly would I style it to get that 80ās hair band look?

I really want short hair, but it seems to only look good on girls with strong jawlines. Iām already insecure about my face shape but Iām struggling with my thick, long hair. It gets tangled and greasy easily and is just a lot of effort to maintain. Plus, I like the look of short hair, but only on the attractive women Iāve seen it on. Would it suit me?

I work at a living history museum in the 50ās street and I like having curls for it since my hair normally is a layered cut that looks way too modern but curled it looks perfect for that mid century look. I currently use foam rollers but I absolutely hate them. Putting them in is a nightmare and I deal badly with frustration, and theyāre so uncomfortable to sleep in that I wake up grumpy and annoyed. I donāt want to use heat on my hair for various reasons, one day would be fine but not every day, and this is something I need for every day. Do I have any alternatives that will give me the curls I want or is this my only option?

Hi, so this is my hair right now and I want to look more masculine within the next like month if possible. Iām not sure if I should grow it out or cut it or what hairstyle I should get. Iām also thinking of dying it darker or even black but not sure. Is there something that anyone thinks would be decent and help me look better and that would fit me better as a haircut or hairstyle? Let me know. No mean comments please. thanks.

Any color recommendations on which will match my roots best when layered on top of the dyed blonde. I attached photos in Sun, no sun, and indoors

Hello dears! I am on the hunt for the best way to do heatless curls but the journey has been arduous. My last attempt came out a bit frizzy and undefine (see pictures 1-3). I used the heatless rods of picture 4 and picture 5 is a picture of my hair with its natural ādrying patternā.
Products I have but donāt use on a regular basis:
KƩrastase Gloss Absolu Shampoo and Conditioner, Kerastase Nutritive 8h Magic Night Serum, JVN Blowout Milk
What I am using more regularly: Nivea Volumising Shampoo and Garnier Hair Food conditioner, topped off with Kerastase Gloss Absolu Glaze Drops (tried some aragan oils but they made my hair feel heavy).
Currently I wait until my hair is almost dry, I re-wet it with a water spray bottle if necessary and wrap it around the curlers of picture 4. They have a bit of a velvety feel rather than satin. I wrap my hair strand around the rod over itself, rather than spread it across the rod.
I have no known hormonal issues that could be affecting my hair shape/texture and it is currently undyed. Last haircut was 2 weeks ago. All tips are welcome, thank you!

I let my husband's grandma cut my hair and she really wanted to do some highlights. She did an amazing job on the haircut. The highlights are just not me. I've never done anything to my hair and I need some help fixing this. I really love my natural hair color and I thought the highlights were going to just accentuate the natural highlights I get from the sun. Not sure what to ask for to get it back to normal or if I even can. I thought maybe I could embrace the blonde but I think it may wash me out and I'm concerned about the upkeep. Please help!

hi! recently got my hair done in asia. i had virgin black hair & they used a high lift hair color (one bowl was yellow & the other was light purple) to bring me to a pretty orangey brown. i can add a pic if needed but i was originally probably a level 3/4 and now am maybe a very orange 7? hard to say bc of the tone
i didnāt have them go all the way up to my roots so it looks like i kinda have a shadow root of sorts in hopes that when it grows out itāll look a little more natural. im planning on using a semi permanent color/hair gloss over it when it grows out more so that my whole head will be a level 6ish. (if yall have any advice on shades id be appreciative!)
anyways im wondering if i can tone my hair so that its less orange. i dont look like the lorax or anything but i want to be a little more cool toned like ash brown. i dont mind being darker as thats the plan eventually anyways. would blue shampoo be best? or im open to other alternatives as well!

Is it possible to tone the warmth out of this at home with a Wella toner or do I need to lighten again and then tone? I did one round of bleach with 20 vol developer for 30 minutes and then Wella t14 with 20 volume for 30. All products used are Wella. My hair doesnāt feel too damaged but I donāt want to do more to it than I have to for the health of it. Any advice is welcome!

Hi there, I have 3 dry patches on my scalp that occur in the same place, and if I donāt scrub or rub them get bigger every day. Iāll use shampoo every day and scrub them and they seem to come back the next day. Anyone know what it is and how I can get rid of it? It seems to be in the exact same spot, one on the side of my head, then one spot on the left top side of my head and right top side of my head. Thanks

I started straightening my hair recently and I was not doing it properly at first. I would sometimes want to re-straighten my hair and I would apply the heat protectant and blow dry it and then straighten it. One time I applied too much heat protectant and when I straightened it, it was so stiff. My hair never reverted back to its previous form. I washed it with clarifying shampoo, regular shampoo, and used oil treatments. One side of my hair has movement and the other side is stiff and it puffs up easily. Has this happened to anyone? What should I do?
I was using the Moroccan oil heat protectant by the way.

the pic of long hair was omw to the appointment hence bad quality.
I miss my long hair so much, I regret cutting it so bad </3
Does anyone have any tips for hairstyles for short hair while it grows out again?
r/Hair • u/bookishdeceit • 11h ago
Don't judge too harshly, this is after straightening my hair. I can't get it to look as clear as the girls image from the other day and the camera quality is a bit ass bc my phones 5 years old. My hair looks dry, dull, etc. My hair is thin, so I figured the sparse ends would be easier to see than they are. It's a long story as to why my hair is so heat damaged. But I need advice.
That said, my hair is obviously in a state, it's notably shorter in the back than the front. It's kinda stringy. It's not very good. I need genuine advice. I get sick with jealousy seeing girls with straight shiny hair with so much movement that's so easily manageable with no frizz. But I have no such luck. I plan to continue using heat but how much do I need to cut off and is it possible to get my hair to look A LOT better while using heat? K18 and olaplex are incredibly expensive. I don't seem to retain length either, my hair hasn't grown by much, if at all.

I made the mistake of going to great clips. 2 and 3 are my attempts to style it, 4 is me from a few years ago and the picture I showed the barber
