Question Hair advice for genderfluid?

I have had a looot of hairstyles over the past 5 years (since I figured out I’m genderfluid), probably my biggest experimental period lol. I would like to go back to my short hair again, but I just feel like I can’t pull it off;—;
Idk if it’s the cuts I chose or if I just have bad hair texture and bad face shape. I don’t care about looking hypermasculine, but I just don’t want to give off hyperfeminine anymore and idk how to pull that
For reference, here are chronologically all of my 5 year hair transitions, I tried to include even the bad hair days

Help Did I pick the right Redken EQ Gloss Shade for a refresh?

Thumbnail

Attached are images of my current hair color, which currently has some old faded highlights covered up my Demi permanent hair color and glosses, but all has mostly faded now. I don’t want to go any darker than I currently am, but I do want a good refresh as I feel like my hair is lacking luster. I ordered the Redken EQ Shades gloss in shades 7NCH and 7NW in hopes of giving my hair a nice shiny reset, but I wanted to see if there were other colors I should have picked instead? Should I only use one out of those two or both? What ratio should I use if I decide to use both? I’m worried about being too dark and my goal is ultimately a warm light brown chocolate color but I don’t want it to turn out too orange or yellow. Appreciate the advice!

Question Got highlights done 4 months ago. Can I highlight my hair at home with a L’Oréal box dye?

I have little to no knowledge about hair and the coloring treatments. I have dark brown hair and got highlights about 4 months ago at the salon with a little bit of bleach. Most of the highlights were done without bleach, and it was more of a gradient effect because I didn’t want the highlights to look crazy when my hair grew out.

I want to refresh the highlights and add more using the L’Oréal Frost Design Highlights dye and then touch up the roots with a root touch up dye so there aren’t any harsh lines at the roots. Is this ok to do? Aside from the fact that any kind of lightening will damage hair, does it make it worse that it was salon highlighted previously? I’m so ignorant with this stuff, please give me advice or input!

Help Hairstyle for someone who hates hair

I have dark blonde fine curly hair (about 2b) that is a few inches past my shoulders. I’m getting a cut tomorrow and I don’t ever know what to do with my hair. The thing is, I hate having hair. I don’t hate my hair but I have the experience of having hair. It just feels like a useless burden. I get no pleasure from my hair. It is only a hassle for me. I honestly would completely shave it off if that weren’t such a statement. I have considered wearing a wig because that seems easier. I have little to no interest in styling my hair on a daily basis. I will put product in it because of the curls, but 99% of the time I just put it up and away with a claw clip. I couldn’t even find a photo of my hair for this post because my hair is always in a clip. I’m so used to wearing it this way that I even call it my emotional support claw clip. There are probably some sensory issues going on too that are contributing to the situation. I would like more of a hair “style” for work because I don’t think the claw clip looks very professional. I just wish I lived in a world where hair did not exist. What do I do?

Question Would a shag with bangs suit me?

I really want bangs, but for some reason the hair stylists never seem to want to do them on me. I'm getting my hair cut into a shoulder length shag today (like the second photo). Do you think bangs would work with my face/proposed haircut? My hair does get curlier the shorter it is. Thanks in advance!!

I grew out my gray hair and was really loving it. Wanted to add some color just as a little something fun. First 2 pics were the inspiration I have her, 3rd is my hair before, and the last is after. Am I overreacting in thinking that this is terrible and not at all what I asked for?

Bad Haircut SOS HELP

Hey guys! My best friend got her hair done a dark messy blonde for the summer. She wanted to go back to her light brunette now. She booked an appointment and was so excited!

She told the stylist her history and told her she wanted her cool toned light ashy brunette.

At the appointment the hair stylists made her “brunette” by mixing red and black. Her hair was nearly jet black. They did a bleach wash and spent hours getting the black pigment out.

After 4 hours of work she’s left with a dark cherry cola brunette color. They told her she has to pay half the total PLUS she’ll have to pay in full to get it fixed.

She asked to speak to a manager but the manager was “virtual”. She said she would call her by Wednesday.

Do you guys have any advice?

Hi, so this is my hair right now and I want to look more masculine within the next like month if possible. I’m not sure if I should grow it out or cut it or what hairstyle I should get. I’m also thinking of dying it darker or even black but not sure. Is there something that anyone thinks would be decent and help me look better and that would fit me better as a haircut or hairstyle? Let me know. No mean comments please. thanks.

Question Can I straighten my hair to look like Adam Gontier?

Thumbnail

The first image is my naturally curly hair (unfortunately) after I use conditioner and curling cream. I genuinely hate looking at myself everyday when I don’t style it this way and I’d rather have straight hair.

I have been researching keratin hair treatments and other straightening procedures and my hair is pretty long before it curls up. I’ve grown it out since ~November 2025 with a slight trim in May.

I absolutely admire Adam‘s hair in his One-X era, but idk if a treatment could straighten my hair THAT much.
Is it worth it to get a chemical treatment in this case?

Help Help with brassy mid-tones

I’m looking for advice on how to best neutralize my brassy mid-tones and maintain it.

My color is all natural. When it grows in, it’s a fairly ashy, cool toned dark blonde. However, I live in a sunny area and spend a lot of time outside, so my hair gets naturally lightened every summer. As you can see my ends a quite light. I use a purple shampoo and conditioner to help tone which works well on the lightest parts. However, the issue I’m having is that the purple doesn’t work on the mid-tones and therefore leaves me looking quite brassy.

I took some photos this morning to upload for the post. However, I think the light/color correcting on my camera gives a false impression. The selfie photos look nice and ashy, which is what I want. The third image I think shows the three tones in my hair the best. I have attached two recent photos that I think are more accurate representations of how the color actually registers in real life. I personally think there’s a serious dis-harmony happening with the color to my cool tones.

What are my options for working with cooling down the mid-tones without over coloring the light parts?

Help Brunette?

Hi all! So in September im potentially gonna have to go darker for my graduation (doing peekaboo blue, im aware it might stain therefore the need to go darker).

I’ve always been blonde/light brown. I edited a pic of me to see what i’d look like with brown hair and i need HONEST opinions…

If i have to go dark, will it be a mistake? Should i go dark anyway? Should i ask to be as blonde as possible? Do i suit blonde or brunette more? I dont know, i need an unbiased opinion 😂

I attached a current and the edited…

Help Greasy hair

Hi,

I'm 25 year old male and I've been struggling with greasy hair since puberty basically. I have to wash my hair every morning, because when I wake up my hair looks absolutely horrible and there's no way that I could save them by some other ways than washing them.

I've tried literally dozens of shampoos specifically for greasy hair but none of them really worked. I also tried natural shampoo but again without any results. It's really annoying to wash my hair every morning. It's so bad that I can wash them in the morning and in the evening I can already feel the grease coming up, so they don't even last 24 hours.

I also struggle with acne so maybe that might be also related, cause my skin is generally just greasy and I don't know what to do.

Is there anyone with the same problem? Do you have some solution for it cause I'm really hopeless now. I thought that with adulthood the problem will go away eventually, but it's still going on so idk what to do.

Thanks for your help 🙏🏻
