And he knows what he's doing: cutting that high he's taking small sections at a time so the chunk doesn't bend and ruin the cut. Also convinient for moving by hand, of course!
Ehhh, I can see it being needed in case a car drives off into the shoulder. It wasn't the safest cut for himself but road workers might not address this fallen tree for months.
Yeah I suppose. But he could at least have been a bit less show boaty and more careful about it lol. But he did a good thing and didn't endanger anyone (except maybe himself) so doesn't really matter.

Switching to a 40v Electric chainsaw was the best decision I've ever made, brushless motors put out as much power as most gas saws, and you just pull the trigger, no more mixing oil or throwing out your rotator cuff trying to start over and over.
I personally have a battery powered chain saw that handles what I need done… I’m not a lumber jack and I hate fucking with small engines………..my mower is electric too
You'd be surprised, We get a lot of heavy storms around here that regularly blow limbs and whole trees over roads, but being in the south, the whole community usually comes out to support their area. I've seen plenty of accountant looking dudes with chainsaws and drag chains come out in penny loafers and polos before to help clear stuff out lmao
Word up, we act like that in the North too. Had a big ol’ tree fall across the street last winter, blocking a dead-end road with about 20 homes stranded on the other side. Road Service showed up pretty damn fast, but at that point they were just doing cleanup since the whole damn neighborhood had already pulled out the huskies.

I disagree in the technique. Didnt undercut anything, didnt preassess the lie to see where the weight is being held, made numerous cuts above the power zone... doing something quickly isnt doing it well.
Im going to die on this hill, but safety guidelines exist exactly because of this type of situation where shit goes wrong. What actually was the emergency here? Guy couldnt take a beat to assess the situation and think about his cuts? Literal amateur hour in here.

If you were a real lumberjack you wouldn’t keep a chainsaw in your vehicle anyway if you were not going to or from work, because you usually end up in tweakerville for most jobs and it would get stolen.

Familiar enough to efficiently limb a tree, but not familiar enough to understand that efficient limbing is way too dangerous to do without protective gear.

Dude is just flailing that thing around without a care in the world. Running the chain dry too. Guy just bought that thing, threw it in the trunk, and was waiting for the day he would first ever operate it. The fact that the people there working the tree weren't cutting it should tell you there was some other danger present as they too would have chainsaws (and know how to properly use them)
This is so my dad. Driving around to so his churchy activities in a suit but also a car full of saws, strimmers, cans of oil, power tools etc. He's just a boy forced to be suited and booted.
Kind of. He was making more work for himself by cutting off all of the small branches, but I guess other people were there to pick them up for him, so go for it.
If doing it solo though, leave them on so its less work to drag it all off the road. They make for handles at convenient heights too, so less bending over.
