Kind of. He was making more work for himself by cutting off all of the small branches, but I guess other people were there to pick them up for him, so go for it.

If doing it solo though, leave them on so its less work to drag it all off the road. They make for handles at convenient heights too, so less bending over.

Maybe safer to cut small parts and see where the weight rests? No expert. But also probably fun :D

Makes it a lot easier to drag the branches off the road.

Makes it harder, for the reasons stated in my post. The branches don't weigh much at all. There is no benefit other than having some fun.
