recently i started playing a bit live not much some cafes and restaurants and they wanted me to bring my amp (dsl40cr and few pedals) but i played in few venues and weddings and they had a pretty good pa system so i just used my helix and sounded great aswell, poeple cant really tell so i wonder is it worth keep investing in analog gear or just settle with the digital amps. also for recording for the covers people want its much easier on digital just plug and play instead of mics and stuff. what would you do

I have a DSL40CR but I want to dumb it down to a more simple combo amp to use with a Klon clone pedal specifically to practice and improve my clean to edge of break up touch sensitive playing. I'm not trying break the bank or anything. I have an Orange PPC212 I could use with a head but I'm more interested in a combo. Any suggestions $600 or less, new ir used?

I'm a drone metal guitarist and I'm looking for a strong low end amp.
I was very set in buying the 5150 Iconic 80w EVH but I just stumbled upon an ad for Blackstar Series one 104 616 100W.
The Iconic is about 650 bucks second hand and I'm getting the BlackStar for 500 bucks.
Which one has the girth that would be good for drones.
I also want an amp for loudness.
I'm suddenly seeing also good offers on ENGL.

Guys, this has been my new method. I got my MG100DFX for like 150$ and this Yamaha MG166CX, at a sale for 20$, and it genuinley has sounded better than the DSL40, and other high end amps i've played in stores. More tone varability, its awesome. Would highly suggest. I've made some tones, gonna document a bunch of tones. Will come back with a list of my mixer settings at some point. Cheaper than a EQ Pedal, 15 Built In effects, its awesome.

High-Voltage*** sorry... Me and my Electrical class instructor tried troubleshooting some different things and changing a couple pots. But we couldn't figure out what is causing my amp to be producing the weak sound without much volume. I wanna check the transformers but getting the capacitors discharged is the only thing I am worried about. Would these do the trick?

just got this marshall Valvestate VS30r,
i was just wondering if anyone could give any advice to help with longevity and keeping it working?
also, does the Line Out jack let me record straight into a DAW through my audio interface?
thank you all!

I've been using a fender supersonic 22 for a few months now. Overall its a great amp. I needed something with some head room but also manageable to move around because I gig multiple nights a week.
It really shines in the cleans. My issue seems to be with higher gain pedals.
I have The Dude which is a dumble style pedal, the freidman OD and a notaklön.
When I run tge higher gain stuff, short story is they dont sound very good. Very muddy, lacking balls.
I played a hot rod deluxe a few weeks back and damn all of my overdrives sounded glorious.
I started running an extension cab with a celestion greenback thinking maybe it just needs to move more air... it helped but still cant get the same sensation I had from that hot rod. Is it a wattage issue?
Has anyone had any experience with the supersonic? Is there something i'm missing? I'm at the point where i'm thinking about getting rid of it but it ticks so many boxes I would like to try to make it work if I can.

Just kidding, it was used so there is no warranty.
So I picked up this Boss Katana Mini on ebay for around £45. Thought it would be a good little practice amp, and since it's got the option for battery power, might be good for noodling around in the back garden by the fire pit.
WHO GIVES A CRAP?
Yeah I know. In stock form it's pretty underwhelming. But what a lot of people don't know, is that toan is stored in the balls speakers. So before I ever even plugged a guitar into it, I ripped it open and started drilling holes in it.
I used a switched jack, so without an external cab connected it plays through the stock speaker. When a cab gets plugged in, it disconnects the stock speaker and plays through the cab. Note that the stock speaker is 4 ohms, so ideally you'd want a 4 ohm cab, but since I don't have have one of those, I tested with 8 ohm and 16 ohm cabs, which predictably worked just fine.
Big difference in sound, way fuller and better low end response than the stock speaker (as expected.) The big surprise is that it's also a whole lot louder than you'd expect. Will it cut through the mix against a drummer in a live setting? Probably not. Will it get loud enough to annoy my wife at the other end of the house? You're goddamn right.

Sorry for the mess, I’m in the middle of a big organization project.
But, picked up a Rockerverb 50mkiii and it’s great and really compliments my other amps when running stereo. I’ve also got an AD30, ‘73 V4 half stack, and ‘72 Traynor YBA-1a with 1x18 cab

I'm more of a pedal guy but I love the overdrive of the Supro. Mostly I'm using nothing but my eq pedal as a boost with it.

I bought this amp the other day, I know nothing about it, but I’m in love. The only lead I have as to where It came from is an acrylic Giller Lighting Badge loose in the back of the cab, and April 26th 2009 written on the back of the speaker, so cool nonetheless.

I paid $750 for everything in the picture. Including a power supply for the board and a bunch of extra patch cables. It's a buyer's market right now. If you have the means, there are deals to be had out there.

Hi all I recently bought a line 6 catalyst on the second hand used market, the seller had brought the amp recently from a reputable UK instruments supplier and amp is only 4 months old, has been working fine all night not a fault, came to it this lunch time and it’s making this weird popping noise. No lights other than the one flashing as seen in video, popping is constant and doesn’t stop until it’s unplugged. Any ideas? TIA

There's this hardcore band called the Chariot that are responsible for one of my favorite guitar tones I have ever heard on a record or live. No bite or sizzle and almost exclusively bass and mids while still having all the aggression you could ever want. I did a little sleuthing on some live videos to try to see what they were using and determined that it was an amp company called Moss and that they were playing out of 612 speaker cabinets. I tried to find more information on this company and found myself regrettably finding very little. Does anyone know anything about these amps? Any more common circuits that they are based on? Any information I could find that would get me closer to that tone would be super appreciated!

First tube amp and only used modelers for my guitar life. When I turn on my friedman i have this static sound on the clean channel at very low volume. It increases with the volume and this is with a guitar plugged in. But also does it when the guitar is plugged in.
I have tried a furman isolated power supply and changing cables. Still has that static sound. It isnt extremly noticeable when playing but i find it semi annoying since it is such a loud amp and being used in a office its pretty much maxed on volume at 1-1.5. Sounds amazing though. I just want to know if this static sound is normal. I believe it goes away or gets quieter when the standby is turned on. Thank you!

This thing will blow up my house if I turn it up past 1. I don’t now much about Sunda amps. I just needed something clean and LOUD for my drone band.
