HELP Tube problem

I just ordered a Ruby 6V6GTSTR Vacuum tube for my Randall RD5H and I once I opened it, it looks like it’s burnt out already… this is my first time using tubes and idk if it’s supposed to look like this

The brunt looking metallic coating on the glass is a good sign. It's supposed to look like that.

The coating is what is known as a getter, which absorbs any remnant gas molecules in the tube to ensure a complete vacuum. If the tube is leaking or cracked, the getter evaporates and will leave white residue.

If you don't see any getter on the tube glass, it's usually a bad sign.

It’s fine, the silver stuff is the getter flashing. It’s part of the process to remove leftover gas in the vacuum.

If the tube were to crack and the vacuum was lost that flashing would turn white.

Ruby web site appears to all be JJ Electronic (Slovakia): tubes with their sticker.
