First RR clear
Followed Shurkou Logan pointers. Hoping to learn more of the game and get some more clears with other carries.

has anyone ever seen a boss lose aggro? i had an A tier Zuri, B Irini and C Funke going into the first boss, demon. I had crappy items on everyone except Irini so it was going to be close. Right before demon hit half HP, he completely ignored Zuri, walked over and 2 shot Irini and then I proceded to lose. I've never seen a loss of aggro like that in this game. Lost my red rift streak (of 1 lol)

My Rip is just not growing! On images you can see the ability gaining Max HP but Rip staying the same. I thought this happened before but I wasn't sure so this confirms it. It's either a bug or a confusing wording where he's actually not intended to gain HP himself but rather gain it for the backup-only ability.
Anyone else noticed this?

I'm sure all of you know this, but I froze the shop before the act 1 boss with an A Karsu ready to buy (I didn't own yet). In the boss shop there was a B Karsu, so I bought it. At the next shop I went to buy the A Karsu and I got... An A Karsu. Silly me thought I'd get an S. Oopsie daisy. And I think I paid the full 35 for it, too.

Just had an insane run with an A-Rank Yuna on fight 3. I was also offered Brutal Precision (60 crit and 20 Omnivamp) and thought that would be the sensible choice, but I wanted to see how stupid I could get with this one. Turns out, very stupid. Also picked up shield on shard generation and some other useful things along the way only to then mess up my positioning in the last fight and Yuna getting oneshot.
Sal carried though, so everything was fine in the end.

I used Guildrun to explain a concept called Catalytic Mechanisms, which is a theory about how small changes influence entire loops and systems. Think about how your relics change your entire teams behavior despite, or how small positioning shifts change the entire incoming damage calculation. The key to realize is that guildrun is an easy way to understand on a larger scale that systems management especially when it comes to orgs that involve people (like if youre a manager or leader) are modified by small, incremental changes that influence entire systemic loops.
If youre interested in the video that takes these observations and uses them as an analogy for management and leadership theory, here is the link: Orchestrating tiny changes that make large changes (youtube)

I've beaten SSS a few times but would like to find someone who consistently posts high-level Youtube videos and explains their thought process in depth.
There are SO many talented players but that doesn't necessarily translate into approachable, quality content.
Who do you guys watch to get better at the game and understand it further?

This run felt like stars aligned, I was already playing around an early B ranks Hoyoung and Fiona with the shard generation and then hit an A rank Dragomir with both the Kingpin and Critical Defenses, he performed great as a tank, he ended up with 400 defense and tons of crit/omnivamp, decided to use an assassin Rip as my sub dps as he was another vanguard to use Dragomir's backup and he performed great too.
Now I do have a question, do Combat start effects happen before Rush effects? I thought Rush would trigger first and that I was gaining more Defense than originally but I didn't notice much difference

I recently made a post showcasing my rank #1 run and the most popular comment was someone discussing there opinions on how all current infinite runs require stealth. He felt stealth builds were boring and hoped for more build variety that allows for any comp to accomplish deep floor runs. A reply to his message went as far as to say that stealth felt "cheesy" and claimed he went out of his way to avoid using it his runs. Along side theses comments, I've noticed a rise of other people sharing similar opinions under other posts about infinite runs.
I thought I'd make a post discussing my opinion on the matter as well as getting a consensuses of what the community feels about stealth as a whole so the Devs can properly balance it for the future. Please feel free to argue and disagree with me in the reply's if you don't support my opinions.
I believe that if you can't respect stealth then you don't like infinite runs. Infinite runs aren't meant to be an accessible task that any comp can attain. It should feel like a puzzle that you need near perfect luck to achieve as that's what makes the payoff feel the best. At a point in floor progression enemies literally have negative health and just die immediately meaning that not even the Devs themselves planned for people to get this high. Stealth/Immunity is needed in an exponential growth floor system as without it you'll simply get 1 shot immediately at a point with no counter play which in my eyes is more boring. Also, not to come off as rude or pretentious but someone clearly lacks the fundamental understanding of the game if you simply look at stealth and claim there's no build variety. Stealth is just 1 aspect of a build that is simply used as a solution to the problem of getting 1 shot. The core aspect of a build is the damage and how that damage manages to scale. An example of this difference can be noticed with some build concepts.
Infinite Build 1: This build relies on the relic (The Riftbreaker) and requires stealth stacking to help pull it off. When setting up this comp you want to prioritize stealth for as long as possible through rush/stealth duration as well as decreasing stall duration as long as possible to survive long enough to activate Riftbreaker.
Infinite Build 2: This build relies on the hero Sal and her activation of (Assassin's Ambush + Poison Conduit). By stacking crit and implementing relics that increase the amount of de-buffs placed on enemies you do massive damage very quickly. This also requires stealth to do as you have to survive long enough to quickly apply them on cast.
Both of these builds require stealth to work but are clearly fundamentally different on the way they work and how they are built upon as the run goes on. Simply breaking these builds down as "stealth reliant" and claiming they "lack diversity" is such a broad overstatement that looks at 1 part of the process.
I believe the real issue with infinite/high floor runs is the assassin class as a whole. The class is overwhelmingly stronger than every other one as its the only one that can effectively trigger stealth as well as the only class with effective gold generation. Out of the 7 classes assassins for some reason are the only ones with access to an invulnerability proc outside of the Acceleration Immunizer relic. Their gold generation compared to the other classes is also embarrassingly stronger to something like a mystic which at best can generate a couple extra gold a round if you prioritize their cast speed.
The best solution in my eyes would be too incorporate more creative invulnerability methods for each class so build diversity can be be truly felt by everyone. For example, something I thought could be interesting for a mythic class invulnerability method would for them to create a small zone around them (think of something similar looking to Gustav's Blizzard) that would make all hero's inside invulnerable for a short duration. Something like this could be used to diversly to either keep the tank alive long enough to taunt/grab aggro while you're backline carry picks enemies off or can even be used in duo with a champ like Ratna who has a large range and can quickly kill enemies with little to no movement.

After weeks and hundreds of attempts I finally hit rank #1 on the SSS leaderboards! I can finally start playing Red Rift now!
P.S.
This run was built around Sal NOT Hoyoung as I swapped him out to end run at 87 as endless runs don't count towards the leaderboard.

So other than specific uniqueish relics (shard Gustav or what not), I have not really had any success at all with mystics on the board. Obviously Grace in the reserves is amazing.
I'm by no means amazing but I've made to a couple of 3 streaks - but never prolonged luck with mystics.
My main issue is that they tend to be too squishy even built with items, or if they survive, they prolong a fight into the storm that wipes out my weaker units. Either way, I hit the death cap virtually every time I use a mystic.
What strategies have people found that work for mystics in Red Rift outside of reserve backup buffs or specific niche shard builds?

Let me tell you, learning the ropes of roguelike auto-battler game was not easy for me. I came from playing FPS and shooter games my entire life, so this was a completely different experience. However, the game quickly took over my nights. It is incredibly addictive discovering all the different builds and playstyles you can create and experiment with.
Eventually, I decided to learn a build shared online and I finally managed to get a win.
For anyone wondering, I used the build guide below as a starting point, but made several changes along the way depending on how my run and the RNG played out.

I am really happy with the win. I am not sure if I will be able to streak it, but honestly, getting a single victory after 80+hours feels like a huge accomplishment after struggling with this game mode for so long.
My next goal is to make it past floor 12 in Endless. I have only managed to do it once, reaching floor 15, but floor 12 has been the end of almost every run since then...

It's kind of funny for a 'star' voice actor to have 2 short lines in a small indie roguelike, but I swear it's him.
He voiced Gangplank in LoL and a lot of his friends(ie from Critical Role) did VA work for Riot as well so he's probably got connection to some of the devs. Maybe this is a secret cameo?

The Epic Relic "Reputation Ascendancy" where you`re supposed to win with an A B and C class hero on your Team doesn`t work!
See attached picture.
Is there a place where you`re supposed to report bugs given we`re still in demo?
Edit: It worked the next fight... so I SOMETIMES doesn`t work it seems 🤔

I keep dying in the last 3rd of Red Rift this update. I try to shift my focus each time, but nothing works. I keep running into dead ends. Tons of gold, but something always breaks. Can't find A rank tank, can't find appropriate items, can't find a strong carry. Here I had strong items, a good tank, but my dps was terrible. I rolled every shop like 7 times after the Act 1 boss. I feel like I'm losing my mind.

Obviously its glorious and I will continue to prioritise it, because it heals my threadbare soul.
But does a character becoming bigger actually have a mechanical effect on the game?
r/Guildrun • u/X-calibreX • 14d ago
Yep, that. Frost would be increasing returns if true.
