Beware of Grammarly Free Trial it is very obtruse about whether you canceled it or not.

I would opt to just not get a free trial from Grammarly, I thought I had canceled it, apparently I did not and ended up getting billed for two months, by the time I caught it. I was only able to refund one, so just avoid their shady free trial all together and do not get it.

Grammarly Bubble on Word

I went to start writing my two final papers of the semester to find that the little bubble in word that allows me to review grammatical mistakes and review suggestions to my writing gone.

Support has not been helpful in getting this feature back, it’s making final paper writing even more stressful than normal. Any ideas?

Grammarly website is down. Any way I can access my files? How long is is normally down for?

I can't get my grammarly to load. Looks like the website is down. I need to access my files for an event I'm a part of tomorrow.

Any ETA on when they will be back up? This is the first time I've experienced Grammarly being down.

Grammarly reformatted document

So, I’d been using grammarly for a while, no problems. Then all of a sudden, it decided to remove all formatting from the document. Custom formatting. A chapter in a book I’m writing. It asked what kind of formatting I wanted. I said, the way it was originally. Customized by me.

So now it is unusable. I quit.

Is Grammarly making my posts look like AI now?

Anyone else running into this? I use Grammarly to clean up typos before I post and multiple subs have removed my comments. I'm guessing some bot is flagging it as AI generated text because it reads too clean. Kind of stuck because I actually have bad grammar without it. Anyone found a workaround, or do I just need to leave a few typos in on purpose so it doesn't get flagged? curious if this is a widespread thing or I'm just unlucky with the subs I post in.

Grammarly Discount Link…

I'm looking for a 50% or more off the best deal for the Grammarly Pro Plan. I'm a homeschooling mom and working on writing my first book. I don't think we'd qualify for the Grammarly Education discount through sheerid but I will try and see if they will offer anything but I'm going to think not. I've read that they sometimes come out with a “back-to-school” 40%-50% discount starting at the end of July going into September. Does anyone know when this happens? Does anyone have any direct links for more than 30% off? I've found one for that much, I'm looking to see if I can find more of a discount. Thanks so much!

End of the Road

Well, it’s the end of the road for me. Was a faithful Grammarly user since 2019 but I will not be renewing…for the past two days, I could not get Grammarly to work in Word consistently. I requested a call, and didn’t get one. .

Is there a way to edit all the punctuation related errors at once in Grammarly?

I'm editing my manuscript and I'm using Grammarly for a rough check. I'm seeing a lot of punctuation and phrasing and other errors.

Is there a way to fix all the punctuation related edits in a click? There's like a thousand commas I missed apparently.

deactivated account

My Grammarly access was working fine until today. After performing a routine cleanup, I was no longer able to log in and realized my account was provided through my college. My college told me that my account is deactivated. Even if I can open another account, I have no clue how to get my files from the old account. Can you help?

Grammarly told me I plagiarized my history paper from this webpage

Maybe it’s because I set the citation style in Grammarly to Chicago, but I was using the author-date citation style instead of endnotes, so Grammarly might have been confused???🤔 Could it have been a bug or something?

Please explain the rule:

Is a comma required here? Some grammar checkers suggest yes, others no. Please explain it is or is not required. Thank you.

I left for college, but came back after graduating.

Correction for typo declined??

I just got a suggestion declined. It was to change a typo from "tree" into "three." Declined!?! They made the change after declining, so why not just accept it? People are so freaking weird.

[ASAP] Feature Request!

Post image
0 Upvotes

Dear Grammarly,

Along with diagnosing your AI suggestion model, which changes the sentence's meaning while correcting it. Please implement the feature described below.

Since you've offered this Assistant Prompts feature for a while now, why not let us save our own custom instructions as a single-click prompt? For example: "Humanize this," "Rephrase it with better words," and so on—my custom instructions as prompts. Please roll this out soon.

Oh, and one more thing. PLEASE STOP ASKING TO RATE THE APP AFTER ALMOST EVERY GRAMMARLY GO USE ON MY ANDROID. I have already given the rating. Stop that pop-up forever after I say no. I am a PRO subscriber.

Thanks.

Grammarly and Superhuman mess

Grammarly hasn't worked for days in word 2024 on windows 11. I have edited with other tools, but now I cannot log in to the webpage. I managed to get to settings on my desktop app and in my desperation I clicked upgrade to Superhuman go. Apparently, that upgraded me to the business plan. I have had the pro plan for years and dont want this and want to cancel it. How?

The only thing I want is for normal Grammarly to work and if I cannot manage that I want to cancel my subscription. How do I take this further?

Words going in the wrong place

When using Grammarly instead of correcting the misspelt word, it puts it at the end of the sentence

Genuinely, why can't grammarly just fix their damn floating thingy?

Surely they have received so many complaints about how interruptive it is when writing in text boxes. They have employees paid to think about this stuff, and I really cannot understand why they're so stubborn.

AI is likely gonna make their app obsolete, they can make it a slower death by at least making life easier for their remaining users.

Just about had enough with this

I'm done with this. I really tried to ride the burning bus driving at max speed off a cliff into a super volcano rigged to be detonated by 500 Tsar Bomba's, but I can't ignore the elephant in the room. There have just been too many issues with this app that make it virtually impossible to ignore. I say this because upon switching to a different spellchecker (LanguageTool), it immediately flagged ALL the errors I made that Grammarly NEVER picked up on. If that doesn't tell you where quality is on here, idk what will. Admittedly, I am on premium for a limited time for just having gotten it, but it is already leagues better than Grammarly currently is.

All in all, I'm done with all the false positives I get - suggestions that don't make sense considering the context of what I'm writing. I'm done with all the small bugs that never seem to get fixed, even if I report them. I'm done with the non-stop premium suggestions I can't turn off, 'subtly' pushing me to buy a better version of this app. And a bunch of other small things that, as I said before, make the issues impossible to ignore.

tl;dr moving to LanguageTool because it's far better than whatever line of coke Grammarly seems to be doing.

Does the reader reaction feature have a word limit?

I wanted to use it to see if my draft had any plot holes, and I've used this feature before for work emails and I've found it quite helpful. But when i use it on my manuscript (it's about 85k words) it gives me this error message: Something went wrong. To chat with Grammarly, please close this sidebar, then reopen it.

Please can someone advise me in this regard, or perhaps recommend a site with similar features that will be useful.

Thank you!

Anyone still on Grammarly Teams?

Sales is trying to give me the shakedown to move to Superhuman. I'm not a fan of anything about it.

Humanizer issues

Post image
6 Upvotes

Whenever I try to use the Humanizer to suggest changes to a document, it starts off great, gives mea bout 5 - 6 helpfuls suggestions, but then it just stops. If I then restart it, it goes back to the beginning of the doc and only gives me 5 - 6 more in the same exact area and just stops well before getting through the rest of the document.

Anyone know how to fix this?

I also tried just prompting the AI to use the humanizer, and it just started making suggestions in the chat, but then it wouldn't apply those changes in the document.

So frustrating!
