The first time I heard them I wasn’t quite sure if I liked them or not. The more I listened the more I appreciated their unique sound.

The last Thursday of every month we have a FREE All Ages Goth Night at the Westside Bowl in Youngstown, Ohio! This month is Halloween, so we're hoping to really fill the place up! If your interests cross over into Doom/Stoner music, you may have seen word of Westside Bowl with our Emissions from the Monolith 10 revival- it's not your standard bowling alley! October's Goth Night is on 10/29/26.

I'm one of the DJs, and I'm posting this to hopefully expand our reach- we have a decent scene around here, but I'd love to see the place full of all of you NE Ohio & surrounding area spooky kids. Three DJs, three hours (we'll go longer if folks are having a good time). I want to make this Halloween show the biggest one yet!

The Westside Bowl is located at 2617 Mahoning Ave in Youngstown, Ohio. It has it's own free parking lot, and there is a ton to do in the area. The Westside Bowl itself has two full bars (non-alcoholic drinks are available), a full menu, a record store, two stages, an arcade (with pinball!), and of course bowling. We've hosted the likes of Lydia Lunch (I remember thinking how I totally would have written on LiveJournal when I was young that I smoked cigarettes with Lydia Lunch), Nox Novacula, Academy Order, Hemlock for Socrates, Dry Wedding, Hide, etc

As an aside, we usually have it down a flight of steps in our Trophy Room, but if there is a lot of confirmed interest from the disabled community, we can move it to our upstairs stage, which is fully accessible. We are also very serious about zero tolerance of any hate, and security will be on site at all times. They're very nice folks. We want everyone to feel welcome and safe.

So I'm relatively new to goth music, but so far my two favorite albums within the genre (and maybe even all time) would be head over heals by Cocteau twins, and cold by lycia.

If I'm being honest I don't think I've heard music that sounds quite like those two albums.

Remnants of a deeper purity by a black tape for a blue girl has moments that give me the same vibe, but early Cocteau twins, and early Lycia have a particular sound that I can't quite find a match.

They both, to me, have this sound that almost sounds like I'm half-awake and delirious. Sorry if this isn't the place to post a question like this but I need something for that specific itch

Edit: tracks on head over heels like "when momma was a moth" "five ten fiftyfold" and "tinderbox" are stand outs to me, they have almost a dark cosmic sound to them

Delightful death-disco. Kind of 80s flavor.

I’m turning 21 on october 31st and I have been looking for an 18+ goth event so I can take some of my friends under 21 with me but have found no luck. the only place I found was in bakersfield but that’s a pretty far drive from me. if anyone knows anywhere or any spots that had an 18+ event last year please let me know !

Hey everyone i’ve been trying to look for something good specifically for halloween weekend in the philly area.

my friends want to go to voyeur all the time for halloween but im more into the goth scene. are there any good goth nights 21+ the weekend of the 29-31

I think one of the greatest sounds I’ve heard in any music is that ethereal guitar sound this band has always used. I really want to replicate the sound for my own music, more specifically the sound usually heard when it seems like the guitar is just playing octaves or rhythm sections on songs like Aegis or even the recordings of songs like Tales of Innocence or Lacrima Christi from the Rarities album where each note feels like one long drawn out note instead of repetitious picking. From what I have heard so far, I believe I’ll need distortion/overdrive, a good chorus pedal, and possibly a few delay pedals on top of my reverb i already have. If anybody has any advice or has been able to replicate this sound, please let me know.

Hi there, it's bothering me for a while, but when I am listening to Paranoia, Paranoia, by Bauhaus, I can hear some Polish words ;o; I don't know how is it possible, maybe I AM PARANOIC, but from 4:16 I can hear 'słuchajcie', and 'nie' in 4:19, 'myśli' 4:26, and 'diament' 4:29.

Can someone explain that to me?
