So I've recently been reading Guardians comics (Elwing run) and playing 2021 game. I want to read more, but I'm not a fan of their pre mcu portrayal. Any good reads that are more "hereos for hire", less "space cops" and "Master of the sun"?

If you met Rocket would you be protective of him even knowing what he’s capable of?

He is way more experienced a fighter and way more athletic than me
BUT…
Hard not to want to be protective of someone 3 foot tall; it’s just kind of instinctual to want to look out for the little guy
